  1. It's a good idea not to leave your car in gear . That way, if somebody shunts it you don't risk damage to the drive train as well as panels
  2. It's not rocket science, get in your car, stick it in first and crank it over (handbrake off, feet off the pedals) The car will lurch forward and start and travel forward at idle speed. BTW an auto will not start in gear, they have a neutral (or park) safety switch standard.
  3. I think a chat room would be a good thing
  4. Hey, just grouse, if you're wrecking your car I'll be interested in some bits........
  5. Many people think that using high octane fuel will automatically give a large or significant power increase. This is not neccessarily true. High octane fuel has a slower flame front propagation during combustion which helps prevent knock when used in high compression engines. Since stock Jap engines are designed to run on 103 octane petrol they will not have high enough combustion pressures or temperatures to take full advantage of a 124 octane fuel. In fact using too high an octane fuel can actually reduce power because the fuel burns too slowly to produce peak combustion pressure high in the power stroke. To get back on thread I doubt that using Elf racing fuel would give much of a boost to a stock engine. So getting into 13's with a stocker on Elf is unlikely.
  6. This Doesn't look like a '96 to '98 model. It has series 1 bonnet and headlights, no airbags, it's probably a 93.
  7. rb26dett, Just been to that site it's pretty interesting. Have a look at the Wayne Gardner interview. He recons he reached the top in Australian touring cars quickly but found the standard of driving too low not challenging enough! Did he even finish a race? Must have missed it.
  8. That is really an ansult. TO THE MAZDA!!!! I'm not joking either, the wife had a bubble and it was an amazing little car. Cheap to run, nippy, and in 4 years it was absolutely faultless. I don't think I even changed a light bulb. It was as roomy in the front as a slobberwhore as well (I'm 2 metres tall) contrast that with our gen111 which racked up most of it's mileage behind a tow truck.I had to sell the thing on consignment because I knew i wouldn't be able to face the poor bastard who bought it off me! I never used to be a Holden/Ford man and only bought it cause they look ok and with 5.7 litres they go well. BUT they are buckets of shit. Full stop. I had one, take my word for it.
  9. What- you're saying that f1 cars can't stand to rev? Last I heard the BMW was turning 19000 rpm so yeah I guess so....... If drift was quick then they would set f1 cars v8 supercars indycars etc up to drift. These guys know how to go fast and it aint drift . AS butters says if it was fast they would race and not judge them for style. Let's face it, it's a Japanese invention, and while they can build cars they ain't so good at pedalling them. (who was the last Japanese world champ in any 4 wheelled motorsport ?) (they CAN ride bikes though)
  10. It's not the diff.
  11. Are thewheels still for sale?
  12. The spare ten grand will buy you plenny stickers
  13. Ninjadust, it might be worth having a look at www.racecoursemotors.com.au they are advertising an r34gtt for less than $30k (fairly high kms though).I'm not sure how much confidence you have in odo resdings on imports, but I usually pretty much ignore them and use overall cond as more of a guide. (Some cars seem pretty rough for very low annual milage)
  14. Trouble with holdens is they keep stopping when you dont want them to. Went pretty well behind the tow truck (a mitsubishi haha!) The period that we had the pusbucket Holden was selling everything they could build and their after sales service was non existant and they had an absolutely stuffed attitude to warranty claims. Tell them your lights dont work, and they say something's wrong with your eyes! F*ck 'em I wont have another. EVER.
  15. Buster , check your pm's i'm very interested
  16. just checked the RTA NSW website ; plates HSVSUK are available! Just gotta convince the wife its worth $380 a year. We had a brand new holden in 2000, had to be towed to the dealer in 2002 clutch slave shit itself. Arrogant prick dealer wouldn't even give me a lift home! So having a $40,000 car doesnt mean you dont have to catch a train. I like V8's but I wouldnt touch a Holden with a barge pole now
  17. Don't you lot understand, Holden drivers own the f*cking road. THEY OWN THE F8CKING ROAD !!!!!! That's why they dont signal, they don't give way, they don't look when changing lanes, they NEVER get out of the fast lane even when going 10 k's under the limit: They dont have to THEY OWN THE F*CKING ROAD !!!!!
