  1. the badge is just behind the front wheel Nick,

nice find Steve, heres an interesting bit of trivia for you all as i work for Subaru.

WRP10 wheels (rays engineering) $1,193 each, yes each! w/o tyres...

oh and we sell lock nut too $114 :D

    gee thats gotta suck!

  2. All done, i ended up removeing the caliper completley to push the pistons back (it was the only way as there was no room to get the clamp in).

Ash, thanks heaps for the tips, now i think it was so obvious that i must be plain dumb to have not thought of it... :)

now im off for a run to bed tham in.

thanks heaps for the help guys, its great to know there is so much help at hand. :D

  3. hi guys,

im stuck!!! im changing the front brake pads in my R32 GTR (non brembo calipers). ive got the old pads out, but i cant for the life of me push the pistons back to fit the new pads.

is there a special technique? or do you just need sh!tloads of leverage?

PLEASE HELP!!! i would love to get the car going for this arvo.

    thanks

    matty.

  4. Hang on ...300 at the treads and coil overs. So you are allowed a turbo upgrade (two of them) with ECU and exhaust with coil overs to go as fast as you are. But Tim in his GTSt isnt allowed a turbo upgrade and coil overs? You were also running better Federal tyres then what is on his car.

the point that i was making was you would need to spend more on a gts-t to get it to do a quick time.

for example, you want to run a 1.25 at sandown. you wouldnt have to spend anywhere near as much on a GTR as what would be needed to spend on a gts-t. mainly because the GTR's are already half way there in the performance from factory...

and what do you mean i was on "better" Federal tyres than Tim? how so?

  5. I think the difference between these two is that your GTR is only mildly tuned where as tim has done more to his engine and you could drive yours daily...

See thats what i love about the GTR's. you can be real quick straight out of the box with minimal mods. where as with the silvias and gts-t's you have to spend a bit more and work a bit harder to be on par with the "R's". they are just so well balanced overall with the potential for more than enough power. they are very close to (dare i say it) the perfect car.

    my opinion...

  6. We need a common enemy otherwise we turn on each other. We need more GTR posters. :)

herers one right here baby!!! i will just say that when i did my 1.26 around sandown, the car was unchanged from the way it was driven everyday. i simply turned up, put a bit more air in the tyres and went out. it was also my first every run at sandown, and my first ever run in my GTR. the car didnt have a huge amount of mods either, just coilovers and a bit of boost! full interior, so maximum weight (which is heavy!) and brake were stock as a rock (no brembos or nothing...) and my silly federal road tyres...

so i thinks thats not bad!!!

there! now you can tear me to shreads with your come backs! :P

  7. Alot of people had problems today...

Matty, i was wondering where you dissapeared to... i told you this morning its because i keep turning up to the same track days as you, im a bad omen! :P

Juliette, good to see you made it home ok, though it was a shame you had such limited track time today :(

Chris, i hope everything is ok with your engine.

Me, well brakes, aparently you need them... i did one session, lap 4, coming into turn 1, brake pedal hit the floor! (i pooped a little... :D ) just made the turn. came in to find nothing left on the front pads but metal... its my fault, silly me shoulda check this before the day... the things we forget. :)

Sam, what an amazing car! for the minimal mods done, that machine is hoocked up! and thanks again for taking me round on the passenger session. you steer the car really well! :D

All in all, it was good that the weather held out for us, though there was big tail wind down the main straight for most of the day.

time for me to get some new pads, cant wait for the next track day! :)

    cheers,

    matty shepo
