  1. If you are after the best possible result, take it to a plating business, by which i mean chroming/anodizing etc. just get them to dip it in one of their stripping/cleaning vats. the result will be far better than anything youll be able to achieve, and it would have cleaned it inside and out. ive done this before with various parts and have never been disappointed. its cheap, and saves you the time and trouble.
  2. I was just going through my receipts and chucking out old ones, when i came across the one from the post office It was 10.73kg. That was turbo, compressor outlet below, dump, and lines etc. so if its just the turbo, it'll be under 10kg easy. hope that helps.
  3. cost me under $20 to send a hks2530 to melbourne from adelaide.
  4. I remember he was kinda scary at first! Anyone know what the deal was with the commy? Just in case there was more than 1 commy on its roof that night, im talking about the VY or VZ near the BP.
  5. Anyone see that commodore on its roof on anzac tonight? Must have been quite a site if you were a spectator.
  6. Just a quicky. What temperature would you guys expect the exhaust manifold to reach on an rb25, running a hks2835 @1.2bar, whilst under load and/or prolonged full throttle????
  7. thanks for that bullant. what lube should you use on the new o-rings? surely there has to be more to it than that, anyone???
  8. Hey people, I'm installing larger injectors on an rb25 and I need some help. What's the procedure after you have removed the top half of the plenum? Does anyone have any tips? What worked for you? What didn't? What lubrication should you use on the o-rings to help locate the new injectors? Oh, and i remember reading about having to pressurise the fuel rail afterwards- can anyone shed some light on this? Basically, anything you can think of that would help would be much appreciated.
  9. thats a shame, as these turbos were recently cheap to buy new, should have bought a load of last run units before they discontinued them, as old or not, they are great turbos
  10. Hey thats cool man Of course, it would have caused a lot less confusion if you had said that in the first place. Why say the job has already been done and post pics of the results, and then say that it hasnt been done yet? Having read the your post, where you say it has been "lowered and the skirts are on", one can only come to the conclusion that the job had already been done. What did you expect when you post a modifed picture of an original which you posted earlier? There are a lot of dreamers out there and its fun weeding them out. But nevertheless, all is out in the open now. No hard feelings buddy. Nice ride
  11. yeah, it was a very good job. liner, comeon man, whats the deal?
  12. wow, thats amazing, how did you manage to lower the car and put the side skirts on without moving the car, and doing it within a split second!!! the car is in the EXACT position as a photo in your first post and all the shadows thrown from the car and the wheelie bin are identical, not to mention the dates on the photos are the same. do you have a time machine?
  13. hiya, do you know what offset they are? what model did they come off? any dings, scratches? thanks
  14. My opinion is that it doesn't matter how good an insulator of heat it is, the rising heat radiating from the block will heat the manifold just the same. Everyone knows how much heat is held in the engine bay when you pop your bonnet (especially with turbocharged cars) after a drive or even just dribbling around the city in the summer. Its just common sense. Remember the "results" and claimed benefits from Slick50? All fraudulent, and the makers were sued accordingly. Now, im not suggesting that the results from the tests carried out on the manifold insulators were fabricated, I'm just saying that you really can't believe everything you read. Mokompri, Could you please post the contents of the article on here? I would still be interested to hear what they have to say about them.
  15. a debateable statement there. possibility there are more kits for s1 because more people like the s1... or because fewer people can justify paying for a s2. if it is the case, there has to be a reason. i love the s1 lights. a gtr would look funny with s2 lights. might be why they never changed them. :boobs:
  16. wat does that say about the computer though? any car will start poorly if it isnt tuned properly. not having a go man, im just saying that the comment above contains very little value.
  17. Unique Auto Sports quote from site: "PRO DRAG SUMP WITH 7 LITRE CAPACITY. ALSO FEATURS HORIZONTAL TRAP DOOR, WINDAGE TRAY AND MODIFIED PICKUP." $695
  18. thats boost you're looking at dummy :bananaman
  19. Fane, i agree, if your future plans are to further increase your rb25's output beyond the capabilities of the 2530, then fitting one now would be a waste of time and money. But i think it is worth realising that not everyone wants to be a horsepower hero. For someone who mainly wants a large increase in mindrange power and torque without sacrificing response, i cannot see why the 2530 would not be a very attractive option, especially when a good condition, second hand 2530 can be found for just under $2000.
  20. I've never understood why there are so many people that keep saying that a 2530 is too small for an rb25, when for one, it is in fact larger, albeit marginally, than the standard rb25 turbo, and secondly, HKS recommendeds the 2530 as a rb25 upgrade. How do I know this? It is on the front cover of the 2530 installation manual. As Sly has personally experienced, it is capable of producing a 12.5. Too small? I think not.
  21. haha, say its a Paris Hilton fart, youll get heaps
