Alan: lol.. it took about me about 11 months from time of crash to finished product and during that time i just kept on collecting mods/parts for the car. definitely turned out a much better car.. But all that time and energy chasing parts, dealing with insurance, etc took its toll and i was almost over the whole thing.. almost :D

    DNGRUS: I'm always at macedon at least once a week. Awsome road up the top section and down the back, but a little short and very tight if you know what i mean. But there are some great roads in the surrounding area. I'll say hello if we meet up there or even join us for a drive :yes:

  2. Sam: Yeah it sounds similar to my experience.. i hit the roo mid jump, crushed the bonnet, hit the top of the windscreen and then landed on the other side of the road. The roo was killed instantly which was a good thing, i hate seeing & hearing animals in pain, but i was lucky the roo didn't fly through the window and crush and/or kick the sh*t out of me. In the end i wasn't that upset that the car was broken. Just glad i was ok, too many stories of kangaroos going through windscreens and killing people

    Ronin: Genuine do-luck type 2. i had trouble finding an original factory front bar for a descent price and a friend had the kit going very cheap sitting in a warehouse, just got lucky this time.

    Awesome quality kit though, best i have seen by far. The kit is definitely not 'ricey' at all, which i was a little concerned about at first and the 18x10 bbs lm wheels complement the car very nicely

  3. Hello All,

    I've been a member for almost a year now, but haven't had the chance to introduce myself or come on any events as yet.

    Here's the story..

    Was a big dirt bike rider since i can remember, but in recent year having some descent stacks and now risking losing a kidney, it was time to give up bikes. Having cracked the sads and mild depression kicking in, my friend decided to take me for a spin in his s14 up to Mt Macedon (we live 10 minutes away). Not having any interest in cars and knowing next to f*ck all about them, i reluctantly went with him up the mount and was absolutely blown away! .. I simply had no idea that cars could give you such a rush

    The following week I started test driving s15's, evo's, wrx's, s14's, v8's, etc but in the end I took the advise of the same friend to take R32 GTR for spin and was instantly sold! I soon found myself a stock as a rock gtr in this rare blue i hadn't seen before.

    Anyways, after about 4 months of ownership i hit a 6 foot kangaroo one night driving home and mashed the front of the car. Only hit him at about 80km.. pic attached

    After f**king around with the insurance companies for 5 months, they finally paid me out and i made the decision to repair her. I should add that the roo only damaged everything up to the engine, no chassis rails were touched, engine was fine and it really wasn't that big of a deal.

    Finally, got the car repaired and added a few mods while i was there :)

    I took a few pics at the farm with my phone, but as you can see she still needs a few little finishing touches.

    Hopefully i'll meet some of you guys soon!

  4. With WD-40, the paint won't sqeak as it moves around!! <<WTF?

    LOL... i accidently got some silicon on my car last week and i didn't know what to use to get it off and all i had was some petrol and a can of wd40..used the wd40 and worked a treat!!

  5. Hi All,

    I just got about 10 seagull turds on my car at work, washed it off within 2 hours but the damage was already done. I used a pressure washer to clean all the crap off but the 'residue' left over is stuck on the paint! Colour is a dark blue and had a full respray about 1 month ago.. :)

    What's the best way to remove the residue/stains? Any help appreciated

  6. I smashed my airbox and afm's (kangaroo) and i got some z32's to replace them. I know i can get apexi pods that bolt straight up to the z32's but do the z32 afm's bolt straight up to the standard intake piping or do i need an adapter/bracket to fit?

    (I have the wiring adapters & pfc)

  7. If you're going to run 20psi through it, and you're not willing to pay $400 to make sure its safe, ask yourself what you'd do if it DOES spike and you lose either the engine or turbo or both...

    I've got another suggestion, at the very minimum go onto ebay and buy a turbotech boost controller. They're recommended by many on these forums and work different to the stock solenoid or bleed valves. Not sure what R32's have stock, but these manual boost controllers are only ~$40 incl postage and they work fantastic. You get the quicker spool up the same as with an ebc because the wastegate sees no pressure at all until the limit set by the manual controller. Rather than bleed pressure off like a bleed valve, it actually restricts pressure to the wastegate and is very reliable.

    I'd recommend running a good ebc at those boost levels but thats your call.

    LOL.. I'm not trying to be a tight arse, i just thought that if i can use the stock one safely, i would & save some $$, but thanks for the info anyway :nyaanyaa:

  8. I'm very close to having my hks gt-ss turbs put on my 32r an aiming for about 300 - 320kw atw.. I've got all the supporting mods ready to go on at the same time but i'm not sure if i need a boost controller?? Most reputable workshops say i do but one workshop (one of the best) says he just whined up the actuators and modifies the standard boost controller.

    I want the power to come on nice and strong and i know a good ebc can hold the wastegate shut etc for quicker spool times, but will it make any difference with these particular turbos say running 20psi?

    Also will i have trouble with boost spiking using the standard controller at this boost level??

    I don't want to have any issues with the car and if i can save myself $350 - 400 for the same result, then i'll definately go that way..

  9. Alot of my work is dealing (testing) with lubricating oils aswell as base oils. ALMC (Australian Lubricant Manufacturing Company) make all the castrol oils locally and their quality control is far better than than the rest. I'm not sure about Redline & Motul as they are manufactured in different countries, but ALMC make many different oils for various companies including Honda and Castrol and their quality is awsome.

    I'm using Redline at the moment in my 32gtr and it is ok.. i haven't used the castrol stuff yet but it's definately next on my list. :wave:
