  1. Heikki, despite being fuelled heavy by Mclaren... “Not only was Heikki fuelled longer than anybody who qualified ahead of him, but we were also heavier than anybody who was subsequently placed ahead of him on the grid due to his penalty. That puts his qualifying performance in proper perspective and shows just what an outstanding job he did in Q3. He also did a great job to overcome the disappointment of his demotion on Saturday to drive a fantastic, attacking race at a circuit that's notorious for its difficulty to overtake. He only really had one or two opportunities to run in free air and he grabbed them with both hands. Between laps 42-52, he was the quickest guy on the circuit; and immediately after his second stop, on laps 52-57, he galloped up to Trulli and really hounded him to the flag." Martin Witmarsh.
  2. You know... I dont think Heikki is the right guy for that other seat - I never felt he was to begin with. Lewis is obviously incumbent, was always going to be, so i cant for the life of me understand why they haven't put a level head next to him - one with experience and scars to show for it, yes as BB mentioned, someone like Webber. Webber can offer the platform that Hamilton can grow from and Webber in turn can benefit but he would have to understand he would be playing a large part in the growth of the other driver. I wonder if theres a driver as accommodating as that... The simplest reason is that there was no more experienced pair of hands available since everyone had their contracts. I dont even think Webber would have to consider capitulating to the youngster, i think he would be a great steadying hand to the rapidly growing Hamilton. The Young gun, Older wiser head have always been a great combination and more often that not, have been like iron sharpening iron. Both became sharper. Unfortunately for Heikki, Lewis is forging ahead - one look at the drivers standings and the points gap and you can clearly see. Ive still go hope for Webbo - at Mac.
  3. The fact you used the word "retard" to explain hammos driving is clear and blatant ignorance. That "retard" missed out on the 2007 F1 world championship by 1 single, solitary point - and wiped the floor with a 2 time world champion in the process.
  4. Its completely hypocritical the view your taking. You bemoan the lack of overtaking, the lack of action - the staleness of it all - then you turn around and slam one of the drivers who is actually restoring the very aspects of racing many of us have sorely missed. The EXACT same things you accuse him of driving foul to. You are the type of armchair viewer that can never be satisfied. You complain when its dull, when its boring, when you dont want to watch - that this track will be boring as hell, that team is hopeless, this manager wouldnt know balls even if a rottie grabbed his stones, etc etc etc, then a driver does something risque, outside the box, blatantly out there, wild, on the edge and you call him a bloody idiot. Im NOT making excuses for fundamental errors made - driving into the back of a stationary car in the pits for example. I suppose you hated Hunt, Hill, Villeneuve, Mansell, Patrese, Montoya, Peterson, Jones, et al for their extravagance as well id take it. I wouldnt even know where to begin with that list but they were unbelievably scrappy, gritty, no holds barred drivers that didnt mind a shove as long as there was a shove back and a beer afterwards and called a spade a spade. You make me LOFL. Lewis Hamilton, Robert Kubica, Kimi Raikkonen, and to a lesser extent, Fillipe Massa, Fernando Alonso, Nico Rosberg and even Takuma Sato and Adrian Sutil - heck most of the overtakers on the grid with a few exceptions ( regardless of who is overtaking whom or what team is overtaking what team ) are making it more fun to watch them do what they do best this year. Dont you dare forget there are 5 - yes 5 - drivers heading into a title fight this year and that is a prospect we have not seen since Schumacher was a boy. F1 has been MADE by these people or do you forget that? F1 has been made by people who appear dangerous because IT IS a bloody dangerous sport and when i get the cash ill sponsor a full season for you Dezz just so the world can see how talented you are behind the wheel and to show everyone once and for all that all this F1 driving bizzo aint all its cracked up to be and the majority of the drivers these days are pussehs.
  5. I dont like it and i do have a tag.
  6. Well, there were 2 passes, one before the pitstop and then again after that. Gonzo had a bad day, thats for sure.
  7. I wouldnt exactly call sneaking through on a Gonzo error a couple of laps from the finish "outdriving him" Gonzo was a victim of renaults stupid publicity stunt that fuelled him ridiculously light. I also LOL'ed at Gonzo saying "so what, he took a couple of points off me - its not the end of the world for me."
  8. I hope so.
  9. Well, ive made my contribution. Now change that damned banner back!
  10. Well, lets put the fact that he was driving a mac aside and look at the fact that he was making up ground. He got the 3rd fastest lap was it? His passes on Gonzo were awesome and i like the way he bitch slaps the car around the track. Yes hes trailing by 10 points but still its only 10 points and that can change in one race - there are still 10 races left - 100 points so you can count on the boy getting up. I cant believe the reaming hes copping in the british press - holy heaven are they a mob of vicious bastards. Totally unjustified. It was bound to happen though. I LOL'ed at PK juniors pathetic comments in the press about "getting one up on Gonzo" - Man if you thought Hammo was bad...
  11. Yo, Richo, "dangerous" is losing the car coming out of the tunnel at 300kph. Hustling through traffic ragged and wild certainly does make for wicked viewing. I was pretty tense on a few occasions thinking "Oh, boy, its not a matter of if but when..." ...and it never happened. James Allen is a bit of a wanker...He was talking about Button circulating after his accident when in actual fact he was retired and when Goodman was interviewing him he didnt say a damned thing - probably because he had his foot stuck in his mouth, lol. You and teh Koob and like me and Hamstings - they can do no wrong. And as for you saying Hamilton didnt make the most of it, you forget the fact that he was 9th after the first lap after starting in 13th, got the penalty, was dropped to 19th and then managed to make his way back up to 10th. Pretty aggressive driving and just missing out on the points - and that on a day where only 1 person out of the whole field retired. A good drive.
  12. That doesnt sound too bad... Can it be had any cheaper do you think? Im looking at options as well when it comes time to export my Sti Forester...
  13. Im not joking by the way. Im happy to keep the overheads down.
  14. Im surprised the banner changed to be honest... i post the thread and by some coincidence, the banner changes,...for the worse. Dont shoot the messenger, i wanted R35 or cars, cars, cars. Who would click on that link anyways... Im quite happy to make a contribution seeing as im a little drunk right now but wouldnt you know it - after a few minutes of searching i cant find the donate button... Someone tell me where it is before the alcohol wears off, lol.
  15. Such a surprise not to see another car anywhere in sight the whole time... mustve been one of those secret spots not even the locals know about. I love the shot of getting a "wheel" on the dirt - wouldnt be kosher drift without that, lol
  16. Not quite the one for words obviously...
  17. A couple of me testing my friends kart outside Tokyo a couple of years back... Well...i think they are awesome, lol Fun times...i still had it too. Second pic i was doing about 120kph into turn one with tha tail out.
  18. lol, i know, and hes won the jackie stewart trophy too. I meant in f1 circles that is...when was the last time we heard his name, lol. The helmet was unmistakable. I remember that smash he had at 130R in Suzuka - whoa was he a lucky boy that day. They DNS'ed him for that race if i remember correctly. Neways, this thread a keeper thats for sure. Lownedsy' been in a few... Mika, this isnt Finland and youre doing it wrong...
  19. cheers, i cant say im complaining. never had a problem with this bunch. They had the apartments wired for lan a couple of years back so its first class right now.
  20. f**k yeah, Tokyo Pwns.
  21. Thats Alan McNish there...one time F1 man now forgotten entirely, lol I was there working with a catering company - had a private box looking after some corporates, i managed to get in the pits plenty and even drank champagne from the 3rd place privateers cup - good times. Oh and David Brabhams helmet was an exact fit.
  22. *Edited* lol, too late. Im not going to waste my time on this... Like i said, youre a wet towel Dezz and im about ready to feck off.
  23. He's overdriving the car. Any racer will tell you that. Even i was told when i was racing superkarts that "less is more" - the less input through the wheel, the faster you will be grasshopper. It makes sense - wheel movement costs you time. Simple as that.
  24. Well, it has to be international doesnt it? thats also been written into the rules - "...the codes stated within are not for use exclusively in the country of Italy, rather, in any country in the world where the logo of the "prancing horse" is sold, raced, traded or repaired, including but not confined to the Scuderia Marlboro Formula One team..." These were obviously written before tobacco team liveries were outlawed.
