Well it's all a nice little mess at the moment. I've gotten a letter from the shop that did my diff shim saying what work was done and that it doesn't lock and is still the standard diff. So all good on that front I can't get a QLD transport inspection place to look at it because I don't need them to look at it for clearing the defect and to have it booked it for a general inspection I'd have to wait till 8/9th September. No surprise that based on that if I tried to get an inspection the very next day I'd only be able to get a look in after the court date anyway. Basically they didn't want to know about it and the person I finally ended up talking to said they have nothing to do with defects given from police. I got told by them to go talk to the cop that wrote out the defect but I was told by a lawyer that as the court date has gone through there is nothing the cop can do about it now. The lawyer said I need to submit all information I have to police prosicutions and they will decide if they want to proceed with the case or not but I only get told yes/no in court on that first hearing. The 19th sure is going to be fun

Oh lol. That was that they put crosses on the boxes instead of dots. I only mentioned that as a joke. Oh I most certainly will keep people updated. It would be great if someone before had of undergone the same bullshit so I atleast knew how to tackle the whole thing step by step. As it stands, it looks like I'll be jumping in first. Hopefully there will be something gained by the end of it so people down the road will have an easier time if f*ked over by the same or similar thing. As for the brains, my mind is pretty much frozen to be honest. Pretty much doing one thing at a time and seeing where it goes. I'm not old enough or have any experiance to have any idea what is going to happen in court or if im doing everything I should be doing before I get there. Yeah so it's a completely different situation. My defect notice was written out 100% correct. The issue is that my suspected defect is suspected based on a noise my car made. This noise is not caused soley by one thing. The cop suspected the noise was cause by a locked diff. The noise was caused as I have a shimmed diff which is legal. It's not like im saying the ticket was wrong and they are going to give me another defect notice for having a locked diff. Also thanks R34Kid, very helpful stuff there Just curious, if I wrote them a letter and mentioned nothing about compensation at the time would I most likely not be able to get it on the court date? Im guessing that line at the end is also to let them know that if I get off the charge they will have something to lose from it? And thanks to Lunatikk whos helping me out I wonder if I can add 3 hours call charges to whatever compensation Im after at the end, lol. I sort of see what your saying. But Im guessing in your case the 2nd fine was for the same thing as the first one but filled out properly?

Probably a stupid question but does anyone know 100% if the cop going to have to appear in court for the case? or would they just go off a written report? Well I never said I had a locked diff. I just said I had a shim. The way the cop was if I said "it's not locked" it would of just been something he'd have laughed at. I didnt really want to get into a debate about it for a couple good reasons. So I don't think I put my foot in anything and I also have a witness to the conversation. They have to be the same diameter as factory including rubber +15mm or -26mm. So if you get some real low profile tyres you could probably go an extra 1" As quoted from QLD transport light mod guide: "The rim diameter may be varied from the standard size but the overall diameter of the tyre must not vary by more than +15mm or -26mm. These limits have been set for a number of reasons. Varying the overall diameter of tyres affects ground clearance, centre of gravity, brake effectiveness, steering geometry, performance and speedometer accuracy." With 20's on a r33 your fecked

Surely that can't be right? If so that means the police are now judges as they have given me a penalty and I haven't had a chance to prove my innocence? I have to go to a cop shop later to give them my clearance anyway so i'll discuss that with them there. Why does a cop not have to prove my diff was locked? What ever happened to innocent till proven guilty? This is guilty till proven innocent and it's just not right. As I said before I had misread the form and I required a qualified person to approve it. I also went a step further and got a safety cert done just to have another peice of paper saying my car was legal. Oh yes a $60 peice of paper, thankfully I just got my tax return or i'd soon be up shit creek with all of this. The certificate has been done and I have passed without making any alterations to my diff. I did need some new rear tyres as they were getting boarderline. My car is legal and I have 2 old Federal 595's to smoke up at QR plus a supply of old 16" tyres from my mehanic Something good has come of this all. Sure have. Regardless of what the defect is now you will go to court. Bald tyre = court. I go on the 19th of August. I've also been told of a plan B. The cop put crosses in the boxes rather than dots as indicated. Some silly person suggested I use that as my defence.....lol thats just fail

I forgot about this lol. Bump Price drop to $150includes bov, adaptor, plumb back line blocker and all the other little bits and peices. It is still in like brand new condition. Selling as I have a plumb back bov on there now and this is just sitting here looking pretty.

He was just going on the noise the inside wheel was making while I was going slow as feck. He didn't want to listen to me pretty much. I had said it was only a shim and not locked but to no avail. Eeeep, lets not do that then He said as a major defect it was 3 points anyway. Unfortunatly my problem is I have only 1 point to play with at the moment due to an incident last october. But I really do drive "super good" now anyway as a result. I don't speed at all and even stick to speed limits in road construction areas where there is no bloody reason to. I even see cop cars speed past me on the cen10 highway where it's currently a 60 zone... f*k thats painful. Car will be cleared tomorrow. I had misread the form and I need to get a saftey certificate to clear it. My mechanic is also going to write me up something as when I talked to him today he wanted to pull out the diff just to check as he didn't want to get in shit over it. Might as well take some photos while its out and open to.

Lil update: Spoke to steve? from option 1 garage as paul was busy. He said they'd send me a letter about the work that was done etc. Sent an email to paul so hopefully that works out. Back to QLD Transport mod line about it and some guy named Billy is going to call me back after he looks into it a bit more but it seemed promising. Also I was looking up their modification guidelines beforehand and found "permanetly locking a differential by welding or other means is not permitted and has a dangerous effect on the handling of a vehicle" and there we go, my diff is not permanently locked.
