  1. Mate thats perfect! gives me time to sort out uni fee's.. job time during uni holi's.. thats unreal! Im down! 100%
  2. IF someone who has acctuallt installed these onto their RB25DE gives me a run down on how it improved their responce.. Ill be in too
  3. Oh god.. I gotta lay off the drinking.. lol.. then I WOULD go for the 25 heders.. and to make matters worse.. I spent some money on a set of coilovers.. the price was too good to resist.. the bloke with the rb30 shot peened rods and ARP bolts isnt liking the fact he has to send.. I have a feeling thats turned sour..
  4. Cheers SKiT.. Ill try that next time out for a drive.. Sounds like its a good tip to become a better driver..
  5. AND F*CK THEY KICK HARD! Im still envious of dad! 2.5K for NEO25T, Loom, ecu, all acc. AND A POWER FC!
  6. oh!.. Its so tempting!.. I really want those rb30 headers!.. Im just trying to justify the money for the build.. I have a feeling Ill have to miss this one.. Save for a few weeks.. pay off my uni accomodation.. and see whats left.
  7. Im in bathurst for uni.. Ill either see you blokes track side.. or -funds permiting- on the track..
  8. see if this helps.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t188002.html
  9. Cheers scathing! I heard both versions of flat changing.. and I believe the clutch is there for a reason.. use it.. I will occasionally change without lifting off gass, but you need a clutch if you want a gear box.. Unless theres a half mechanically decent way of flat changing without using the clutch. Ideas? I heard this version of "short shifting" too.. kind of ironic though.. short?.. fuel cut?.. meh..
  10. I got the NISMO cat back from Just Jap. Any old muffler or cat back system will eliminate the nasty resonating Umm.. by shuddering, Im not sure if this is a driveline problem, more so than a engine. But I have noticed if I am in 1st, and only just creeping along I.e a carpark, it will jolt, but its not a jolt as in "you dont have enough RPM" jolt. It seems like the clutch is slipping. As soon as eve ret my foot on the gas, it completely disapears. Im kind of doubtfull its an engine issue and not a driveline issue. As for your engine, the r34 RB25DE with VVT and my Rb25DE with VCT has a different cams opperating system. Not sure if this answers anything, but feel free to ask more questions if needed. Cris, WOOO! MY THREAD DID HELP! =]
  11. Yeah.. Eug is your man.. I heard there were problems with the company.. payment? shipping? something like that.. See if he would be kind enough to organise another one.. or get the details off him and do it urself..
  12. First: As eugene said.. Mandrel. Mandrel bending is when they bend the pipeing without crushing it in the middle of the bend. Get a drinking straw and make a 90 degree bend in it to see what I mean. Second: The dump pipes you see in the group buys. I am not sure if these will fit an NA. If they do. They would be too large and you will loose volumetric vacume. Third: As said before.. X-FORCE WILL GIVE YOU CANCER OF THE EAR.. too much droning and shittyness. I know.. Dad has one. Thourth: HKS supper dragger systems are, again, 3" so their too big. Plus their about $600 cat back from what I have seen. Fifth: Cat. If your not making more than 200kw or revving the engine very hard and high, you wont see many gain. Save your money Sixth: Can we start a sticky on NA exhausts? It seems as though every second post here is on exhausts.
  13. learnt to drive on Bobbin head rd/Ku Ring Gai Chase Rd. Awesome rd. Used to be quite good at it in my pulsar. Havent much been up there in my S. I wouldnt recommend Galston Gourge for more than a lazy sunday drive.. its a VERY narrow rd. Had an FD fly around a corner and nearly went head on. Quite scary. Comenara is a half decent rd. good for a lazy drive. and PALM BEACH!!! OH! WHAT A ROAD! Palm beach Via St. Ives (Max Brenor). Its pretty lazy, till you hit the twisties
  14. Its just too brutal for me.. I see the advantages in this.. but i just dont think i have the heart to do it.. Stupid question but what exactly is the correct process of short shfting?.. I heard so many different interpretations of this I need to clear this up..
  15. Thats pretty hardcore!.. I seen this car at the "showy maccas" in Thorgnleigh before heading out for a drive.. Its a good way to save 150kg Saving weight is a much cheaper alturnative than modifying ALL aspects of your car
  16. besides.. you shouldnt be reving it 7000K anyways.. its brutal.. you look like a kook and your acctually making LESS power AND torque than if you change gears up..
  17. Im with all of the above.. Learn to abuse the engine with the power it has now. I do alot of togue style driving. I find that alot of the poke is ~4.5K and above (25DE VCT). Keep it above that when exiting the corner and you'll find the car is accutally quite quick! Even Id call it decently quick! ME! Who always bitches about how slow and heavy my car is! I think the ideal thing you want that will suite all the criteria, a lightened flywheel. It will make the engine rev out quicker, you wont gain any power, perhaps a minisqule amount of torque. But the engine will be a whole much more user friendly! Over that, the usual: Port and polish Cams (you will need to retune/chip, NA Z32 is a cheap alurnative) and once cams are dont.. headers and zoers.. or the other way around is better.. BUT then you need block work.. rods, rod bolts.. and while your there.. shave.. and that all time and $$$ lots of $$$ and if you dont know how to do it.. some deadshit putting his paws all over the car.. and you dont know... then with more power.. suspention - too much $$ brakes - *SPEW!* oh fcuk it!.. the modification bussiness licks balls.. just be happy with what you have .. or buy an Elise
  18. Its a good point. Im looking into some "prepped" rods which come with ARR rods atm. not sure what the seller means by "prepped" but im waiting for a reply. SKiT_R31 is running RB25DET pistons. I have a set of forgies laying around at home. So if all goes well with the seller and the RB25DET pistons are appropriate (I remeber reading somewhere the piston pin sits higher, hence the piston is lower and therefore lower CR than the Rb30E NA pistons.. confirm?). If all is well in this sence.. Ill most likely run 11 MABY 11.5:1 CR. Ill see if a stock RB25DE fuel system with an RB20DET fuel pump will provide appropriate fuel pressure for the higher CR.
  19. oh mate.. I know.. Its a shit magnet!.. I get everything from Cooper S's to Magana's to STi's to RX7's wanting to have a go.. I just dont bother.. Car is too slow..
  20. I assume on a track? What have you taken down? I got SHAT on by a GTi.. Held neck and neck with a Rodeo with a 2.7L and headers. kept pretty well with a 180 (assuming CA) from rolling start.. Im really starting to regret going ATTESSA
  21. Well its late notice.. But ill be heading out to mt. Kenobolis tonight 13/10 If I see any skylines/silvias etc make sure you drop by to say g-day Ill be in a Silver 4dr R23
  22. Carbon fibre/kevlar seat screw as much of the dash as you can off
  23. How much money you got to spend? First.. the basics Strip interior (back seats, door trims, carpet, cernter console etc etc etc) -20kg (free) Light weight wheels (~3K wheels and tyres) 10kg Carbon fibre bonnet (~1K) 8kg Fiberglass front quarter pannels (~$500 painted) ~3kg Remove all HICAS gear (free) 10kg Remove all sound deadining (floor plan/boot/wheel arches) (free) 10kg Remove spare wheel/jack etc. (free) 8kg Now for the hardcore enthusiest - remove anything that weighs more than 100gm's that is not ESSENTIAL for the car to run Power steering 10kg (free) Air condictioning 8kg (free) Sound system 5kg (free) Power windows 8kg (free) Replace all nuts and bolts with lighter alturnatives 2kg (??) Perspecs glass where appropriate ?? Price? Anything that can be replaced for a carbon fibre/fiber glass item (boot lids, strut bars, hollow sway bars, lightned flywheels) Too much for the saving of max 20kg for the price of 5K its not a bad way to spend ~10K Look into what the hardcore togue Civics do. Basicaly, the goal is to have in the car 1 seat 1 engine (no other acc.) 1 Gear box and a diff. thats it. think thats about it
