I've just had problems with my 3 yr warranty from ASWIN ... Basically my piston rings went, after doing 200km/h+ .... Now the warranty company will pay for Piston rings, and the cost to take it out and put it in.. nothing more.. They are only paying $1,200.oo ...but the total cost is around the $2,000.oo mark.. So I'm out of pocket.. but not as much as I would be without it.. Basically for the $600.oo or so, the 3 yr warranty is worth what it can help out with... as 'skylineakt' said.. it coverd the small things no worries.. but bigger problems maybe not.. Like my warranty will pay up to $1,000.oo towards a new tubo, $2,000.oo for an LSD etc etc.. They itemise everything and how much they are liable for incase of a claim.. But read the book carefully.. Not to find loopholes or find things you don't like, but just so you know exactly what it IS going to cover you for.. Warranty companies are like Insurance Companies.. If they can get out of paying they will.. but people still buy insurance knowing this fact... It just depends on wether you want SOME help, or None at all... I'd prefer some to none.. Thats my 2 cents..

12.. Same as a fully licensed driver.. Only thing is I belive P platers can recieve more for certain offences.. But you'd have to ring Vic Roads/RTA or whoever else about that..

HOTR33 replied to bryanlee38's topic in General Automotive Discussion
One Thing bryanlee38.. on the forums has anyone been asking lots of questions about where you live or anything about your car? Maybe it was someone who logged on here looking to hurt someone? Not implying anything.. just tossin you ideas to maybe track down the purps... and I agree with predator.. they'd have to be local.. Noticed anyone around your area giving you dirty looks for driving that car in a certain area? maybe showing it off at any local supermarkets? (and don't say you aint proud and havn't shown it off) Once again.. just throwing ideas your way.. Tryin to help.. -

I hope you catch the little turds and phuck em up... maybe get a mate to put his car in the same place.. and camp out all night? Big of vigilante mayhem always makes the grass that little bit greener... -

Just for some more Info.. Just Cars wanted to charge me $5700.oo for my R33.. Famous said $3200 .... with a $2000 age excess.. BUT, pay by the month ....sweet as I'll be going to them very shortly Plus I like how they think... They have a Standard excess, and a different type of excess is a "If you hit a tree" excess.. I think thats awesome -

Well if I was to belive you watsisname.. you'd have to show me (some how) the pages to confirm what your saying.. Now Maybe the People in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne all preach different versions ..... Basically.. Belive what you want to.... I'd have to see that 'production catalogue' to belive what your saying... and BTW JimX ....I've not given you any proof.. so why keep saying you've not seen any? I know I've not given you any.. I'm just explaining what *I* Belive to you... I am at work and my boss frowns upon me doing car stuff... so if I was to find evidence, let me go home first... Oh yea.. and I know they are Badged 'GTS25t' ... but when you talk about the car.. who actually speaks GTS25t? I just say GTS-t.. cause people know what it is.... -
Does anyone know what kind of wheels these are?
HOTR33 replied to mxfly's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yes.. but I think they have diff. wheel designs and slightly diff. price? difference between Doritos and Safeway Corn Chips ? Could be wrong.. -

HOTR33 replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
OK.. JimX The rear wing is slightly different.. I'd need to find a couple pics for you to compare.. I'll try and find some good ones.. and I never said I had a front bar.. said Type-M's have a GTR grille.. the difference is the black mesh in them.. GTR ones have no Mesh, GTS-t ones have mesh... and when you buy a Type-M from the factory, it comes with factory sideskirts... which can be referred to as a 'Type-M' factory body kit (including front bar and grille, rear wing and side skirts) it's a bit like a Holden Berlina and a Holden S Pac.. only difference is the body kits.. skirts, front bar and spoiler... and slightly more power.. but nothing to write to HPI about... Do you understand what I'm saying now? Or are you still doubtful about something? -
Hey All.. Got a problem I'm hoping to get some help on.. My Flat mate drive an R33 4 Door GTS-t and is having a problem with her Hi-Cas.. Basically after about 11k's or so.. the HICAS light comes on the dash display panel.. It's been to the mechanic several times, been 'fixed' several times, but to no avail... Last night I was looking at an engine manual I downloaded from www.rb20det.com (before the comments come, yes I know it's a different engine) and it was saying somethign about HICAS not working properly if the power steering belt is not tight enough... My question is.. Has anyone here had any problems with their HICAS? If so.. what was the soloution? Maybe something Will fix it.. The relays and sensors have all been checked, and the hicas computer replaced.. (so the mechanic said) ...so I would imagine that anything different to what has already been tried may work? Any Feedback would be great.. Cheers

They Look like they could be a 'Rays' Wheel desgin.. or maybe Volk Racing? Best to send an e-mail to someone on the webpage, with that photo attached.. They would most likely know.. or send it in an e-mail to 'The Tyre Factory' or some other tyre shop.. maybe they can tell you? -

HOTR33 replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
OK.. JimX... Body parts... The Type-M generally has grey sideskirts, and the lower half of the front and rear bars, Has a GTR Grille and front bumper is slightly different with it's design, plus has mesh on it... Also the Type-M Has a Larger, almost Supra like Rear Wing.. Chamelion paint is usually The Blue Base, with a Green/Purple Colour Flip... The Type-M uses the Pearl Paint, except for the black Type-M ...which is just All Black, from head to toe.. but the large Rear Wing makes it easy to spot... And as for the Turbo.. like I said I was unaware of that fact my self.. But as my mechanic has said it's got nissan markings on it, which would indicate factory.. Unless they made a stock looking upgrade for the aftermarket crowd... If you'd Like to see my car I'll let you know next time I visit my parents in NSW, and we can meet half way between Albury and Sydney if you'd like (as my olds live in Albury, well actually a small town Called Walla Walla..) I'd be happy to let you examine it all you want... Any other questions? I'm happy to answer all I can while at work ... work's too boring -

OK.. This is the last thing I have to say on this matter.. Everyone gets their information from somewhere, being a web page, importer mechanic, or somewhere else... And generally people belive what they hear/read for whatever reason.. and Belive it to be true.. There are several things which have been said which I think to be false, and the same about what I said in the eyes of ther people... Basically unless anyone here has spoken to the Original Design Team at Nissan in Japan (The ones who desided how it would look, what parts, what models etc.) ...I'm afraid NO-ONE, including my self, knows 100% what is what.. we go by hear-say.. Disagree with me if you want... But how can 'The guy down the road' know exactly, down to the very last nut or hose, know exactly what was designed.. Just becuase he imports them, dosen't mean he knows it all.. Or just becuase it was on a web page.. dosen't mean it's right... Basically you belive what you want to, for whatever reason.. Simple.. Ciao.. -

Yes you're right Tony.. But the Type-M Turbo (which is in my car) is the better of the selection... Plus I bet it spools up and hits high boost quicker than anyone elses turbo (Directing that comment to normal GTS-t's) -

I hate fighting.. so Frustrating... I'll say this for the last time.. These are all seperate kinds of Skyline... : R33 GTS R33 GTS-t R33 GTS-t Type-M R33 GTR GTS Being the lower end of the market, GTR being Highest... The Comment "All GTS-t's are Type-M's" is completely Wrong... Type-M is like the .... AMG Version of a Merc, if you will.. or M5 of BMW.. I think your source's source is wrong.. My Sources are Basically High Performance Japanese Car Specialists... Not let's stop this bickering and enjoy a nice big cup of coffee -

JimX ... The Turbo's are different between a Type-M and a standard GTS-t.. the biggest give away is the sound of them.. The Type-M turbo's sound so much different to the standard turbo... and the gear ratio's are slightly different.. I don't have the exact figures on me, but they are different.. They are set up for more 'off-the-line' torque than the standard GTS-t, but Lack at higher speeds... and as for what a Duel Entry is.. I never knew it existed.. Until I did some research on the Type-M .... I've never removed my heat shield so I cant tell you what it looks like, if it differ's from a normal turbo.. but I imagine it's more an internal difference? And Yes.. They did have a Hi-Flow Ball Bearing Turbo.. I've had the Turbo Serviced and it was confirmed.. The Mechanic was even surprised.. (And no it's not an aftermarket Turbo)
