  1. How much is a tracking system? Initial Cost? Install ? Maintainance / yearly subscription?
  2. Well see the whole problem is the public liability BS. If some dumb blond gets run over by the ricer in his type R who looses it there's a whoooole lot of problems... That said... what i'd like to see happen is to find some kind of unsed industrial area or an area that isn't used after a certain time (where there are no residants in ear shot... like out at wetheral park or something etc) close the street during the set time close the street add in just enough orginisation just to keep the cops happy (maybe they could send a token cop to spectate or something... hey... who wants to drag the cop car ?? um no ... ok maybe not ) ... but yeah... if the gov can sanction herioin use in injecting rooms whats wrong with with a few street races (which could be made legal by special permits or something).
  3. ben m, nice picks... very clean car
  4. hehe yeah... thanks for the link... (bookmarked) should be sweeeeet.... going to get like a 7-8" DVD screen where the CD player goes. (hopefully one that can take mp3s also so i can just dump like 10GB worth of music into it... ) and then i can switch it to telemetery display n stuff like that... now GPS... not entirely necessary guess i can still use a street directory... now i should have enough cash for the GTR R33 late this year... hehe its going to be my 3rd car... quite a step up from my 3L N/A (auto) I should think... only i won't have enough cash to do it up immeaditaly.. other option would be to go an R32... mmmm... R33s look pretty... R32s go pretty... R34s cost the earth : such tough choices in life
  5. Ok.. i stated to get curious... here's what ive found so far... http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/doc...on%20Street.pdf http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/trolleyed/2/15/ http://java.sun.com/features/2000/10/convergence.html http://www.r31skylineclub.com/content/down...kyline_book.pdf Nothing as pweddy as a R34 though.
  6. Or... is there an aftermarket approach that can be used??? My ultimate thing would be DVD/Telemetry/GPS Nav all hooked into the one screen... So yeah... anyone know if anything like this is avaliable???
  7. just jam a door stop under the accelerator for whenever she gets in it excess power problem solved
  8. hehe hmmm... Was watching Lifesupport on SBS... classic show... anyway... for those that don't watch... they like giving out sound life advice unlike the crap you see on commercial tv.... this one was on how to avoid those nasty demerrit point things... and No... it doesn't involve driving slowly... Just pay your fine. Send them a cheque... give em a tip... say an extra $10 or so... now... they will send you back the ballance as another cheque... BUT... you won't get your points dopped until you cash that cheque... so... just... don't. can anyone confirm or deny this one???
  9. hehe thanks d00d... thought it was worth a post
  10. eeeek! turn and run! (at the fat chick)
  11. in the excitment of the drive home yesterday there was one really important thing i forgot to do... ... (get gas)... ... parked in waverton again today with 1.8L left and ended up making it to the gas station with 0.5L to spare
  12. well heh... mabye we should start a new M2 thread or something ... So i was driving home today... and there was this cop on a bike around lane cove... I figure... great... i'll just follow him and get home quick... I just didn't realise how quick at the time. He didn't have his lights on or anything but still going pretty quick. Still, I managed to only be about 5-10 seconds behind him when I get to the M2... so i'm keeping a constant distance (doing ~145) i was like wtf... and just kept up, eventually a car pulls between me and the cop and slows me right down but by the other end of the toll gates I ended up infront of the cop. He's in the left hand lane and beside me, I hang back and let him merge in front of me (and the slow ass WRX which was infront of me pulls over to let him through) well i was flooring it for a few seconds just tring to keep up (~130 now)... shortly afterwards he's stuck in traffic at the M2 tunnel... the car in front must have realised he had a cop behind him cause we dropped to exactly 100kph the whole way through the tunnel (no lane changing is allowed inside the tunnel). We get to the other side of the tunnel and the 2 cars pull over and now were crusing along at 125 (there's 2 more cars in front) so the cop flashes his headlight at the first car which pulls to the left to let him past ... does it to the 2nd... and nothing happens (I think he accelerated to about 130) ... about 3 seconds later the cop puts his siren on (for about a second) and the other car finally takes a hint and pulls to the side (friggen people who don't "keep left unless overtaking")... as soon as the road is clear he takes off... I decided to hang back doing about 160 from which he was still going outta sight... Thats the 3rd time i've heard of cops flashing there lights/sirens at speeding traffic on the m2 (because there going too slow). First was a few years ago when i was in a friends MX5 going about 150 (we totally freeked out and pulled right over as we had nfi where i came from)... My brother has had it done to him (while doing about 140) and I just saw it being done tonight...
  13. if you line up 2 cabbies and take em both out with the one bullet do you get bonus points?
  14. Man thats f*sking typical of the ****ing NSW RTA... some kid crashes a car at 200 kph... there response... err ... this road isn't safe... lets change the speed limit from 70 to 60 i think you gotta give holden points for that... firstly that the kid was even able to get the car to 200kph... 2nd that the passenger compartment seems to have survived reletivly well...
  15. (Another great of moment in forward planning by the NSW RTA )
  16. hehe... well .. .do you drive regularly around the CBD? ok ... let me clarify.... city driving is like twice (or 10x) as crazy as anywhere else... now the interesting thing is some vans are genreally bad everywhere... whereas cabbies at least seem to get better the further away from the city they are.
  17. well i'm just tellin it as I see it every day.. i drive about 40km or more daily... and i can tell you its all about location location location... places are sooo different ...
  18. oh yeah.. i'd just love it if someone came and rammed my skyline up the rear... I already got some body damage and as i'm all insured free repairs would be sweet i got a new front end thanks to this asian guy (student) in a new honda prelude (daddy probably bought it for him) who came passed this stop sign collided with a car in the intersection, spun round and hit the front of my car... i was in a lecture at the time... but the cops left a note on my windscreen... i came back to my car and was like #%$@$! WTF?!! i got a ticket?!?! ... oh cool... someone just crashed into my car... well thats ok. cost me a few phone calls to the cops and insurer i got a courtsy car for free for a week or so and it was all sorted... parra smash repairs did a good job. there NRMA approved and 5/5 star (got a classy looking reception area and I guess are friggen expensive... so its all good if your insured )
  19. hmmm... last friday i had a near miss thanks to a dumbass taxi manuver... i was behind one at a set of lights... 3 lanes all turn left (anzac pde into oxford street)... i was in the far left lane... taxi driver starts out pretty quick (yay) the first car in teh center lane is a bit slow... so i megrge across fast while there's still a gap... only now the taxi that was in front of me starts merging across too (only i'm beside it and there's absolutely no where for it to go and there's no way I could stop... with nowhere else to go I just floored it and took the far right lane (kinda pissing off the guy in the 4WD who i half cut off) ... but yeah my top 3 hates list are: 1) vans (these pricks do the craziest manuvers ... one tried to run me off the road once (intetionally) 2) Taxi drivers... just as bad as van drivers cept i can see through them and give em a little more respect as they spend there whole existance on the road and none has yet tried to run me off the road. 3) big ass 4WDs you can't see around em you can't see through them... and there friggen slow most of the time. I think atm the best drivers on the road as far as i'm conserned would be R33/32 Skyline drivers... they drive pretty quick and don't get in my way.... and there not in that catogry of cars which are so expensive that most of their owners drive them painfully slow.
  20. hehe yeah something like that
  21. according to my trip computer thingy mine is burning about 14.8L/100km ... thats been measured over the last 750km or there abouts. I commute from home to the city each day basically. My car's baiscally stock.. mabye i should get it tuned or something...
  22. hehe yeah... yeah thats the one was in waverton... hey... talking about... err 300Zs and cars n stuff... this morning on the m2 (there was this ???(slow car?) infront of me...) so i was cursing along at around 100.. then this 300Z just buzzed past on the inside lane (like blink and you would have missed it)... it must have been going 140-160 or something... I was thinking ... hehe niiiiicee.... well... I just floored it (felt like saying hi ) Finally I sorta caught up at the end of the M2 but there was this small gap in the traffic and it ducked in and hammered on down meanwhile I was stuck in traffic ... (hey I still got a full no claim bonus and drive reasonably 'safely' )... buut anyway... by some miricale my lane was going pretty quick and I managed to find it again off in the distance and even caught up to it (sweet car)... so I was stuck behind it in traffic again when it darted off down the transit lane never to be seen again... buut anyway... while i was catching up to it I found this white R33? GTS Skyline which amost did the exact same thing to me yesterday... (i know it was was the same one cause of the rego) Just think its kinda cool how you keep seeing the same cars almost every day on ur way to work ...kinda feel like getting to meet them as you see them every day all mentioned speeds have been exagerated... I never drive illegally or condone any illegal behaviour
  23. hehe... saw a nice 300Z this morning around north syd... then saw that some chick who looked like 70yrs old or something was driving it... (seriously I can't imagine my grandmother driving a 300Z... ) hmmmm... do many ppl here commute along the M2?? Makes for a real interesting morning's drive
