  1. I found Paul, (Mr Bd4's) just by chance the other day i ran into him, he and his mechanics are working out of carline mufflers just down the road, 25 higginbotham rd Gladesville , you can contact him on 98075145
  2. hey mate, i was in your situation 6 months ago, it all depends on your goals and financial situation, my advice is do alot of research before buying anything, one thing ive found is that once you upgrade one thing you need to upgrade two more to support it, also unless you know alot about cars and engines its better to stick to things that have been tried and tested, if it works for everyone else it should work for you too i personally started off with a fmic (front Mount Intercooler), fuel management system, boost controller, and fuel pump, cat back exhaust and pod filter. about $5000 installed and tuned
  3. hey mate i had exactly the same problem as you untill yesterday, i had it preasure tested aswell but it turned out to be a rubber seal that had deteriorated, it wasnt noticable untill i went for a long and relatively high speed drive up the coast yesterday and completely blew it, im no mechanic so i dont know exactly what its called, but it has something to do with the intake manifold, the rubber seal almost looks like a small head gasket, when i speak to my mechanic on monday ill ask exactly what it was called, but it only costs about $70 to replace on a r33
  4. sorry mate, on closer inspection i can see how easy it is to do i will contact you in a couple of weeks when i have some spare cash
  5. how easy are they to install, mine doesnt look to easy to remove/replace
  6. i just have one small sub box in the boot, and is positioned to one side, it only takes up about a quarter of the space
  7. bd4s went out of business about a month ago, although tom (i think thats his name) who owns the property and the dyno is still doing tunes and selling parts, ive had all my work done there now i dont know where to go, can any one recommend some where good for a turbo upgrade around the same area
  8. the head unit is up to you for that price they are all pretty much the same. i have a series 2 r33 with pioneer 4 way 6inch door speakers ($200) that run off the head unit, and a 12inch 600w sub also pioneer ($300 in box) that is powered by a kenwood 2 channel 400w bridged amp ($400). this produces excellent quallity sound and more than enough volume for me. if you do buy from strathfield or jb dont let the sales person talk you in to buying a dodgy brand, i suggest you stick with the big ones, i.e. sony pioneer kenwood, although they are not top of the line but they are big brand names and you can expect a high level of quality for your price range. try to keep every thing in proportion, no sense in having a 1000w sub with a 200w amp also you will have to allow about $200 for installation unless you can do it yourself. (its really not that hard)
  9. freddy has the right idea, definantly dont trust the odo. a good tell tail sign is if the trip meter numbers dont line up perfectly to horizontal, then you can be 99% sure it has been tampered with. be sure not to over look the simple things like i did, oil or water in places it shouldnt be, also be aware of new stock parts they are a dead give away for after market parts that have been removed for the sale
  10. im looking at upgrading my turbo soon, and ive been told by number of people to go for a gt-rs, i have recently discovered that both garret and hks make a gt-rs, are these turbos the same or not, im looking to make about 270 - 300 rwkw on my r33 series 2 gtst, can any one give me some suggestions or advice, thanks

    Rims

not to sure on those specific measurements, i would say the wall size of the tire and your suspension set up (ride hieght, travel) may come in to it aswell
  12. ill definantly be leaving it, i just wasnt sure, thanks
  13. hey guys, i have a question, i just had a cooling pro FMIC fitted, can any one tell me if it is multi-directional or not, i would have thought not, but im not a mechanic. it just seems odd to me that the sprayed on logo is facing inwards rather than outwards.
  14. ive done the same but added a fuel pump, and fmic, closely followed by a new clutch
  15. ive heard of people getting off after being raced as it is entrapment, id say you need a good lawyer though
  16. i say go for another 33, cant go wrong!
  17. nice choice theyre are the exact rims im saving for, to put on the exact same car but in white, are they 17" or 18", im going for 18s i think. if you dont mind me asking what did you pay for them, rrp is $2000 with rubber from tempe in syd looks nice, may wanna drop the suspension next, but im a fan
  18. yeah those wheels are awesome, i like them alot, i think they would go well with my white car, can you tell me where you got them
  19. thanks guys, much appreciated, ill give it a go
  20. thanks for the suggestions, any idea where i can find the koya inox imagine rims steve?
  21. pretty flexible with the budget anything up to around 3500 but obviously every one loves a bargain
  22. im looking to buy some thin 5 spoke 18" rims, nothing to flashy just plain and simple in either white, grey or silver, ive looked every where in sydney but to no avail, can any one point me in the right direction, any ideas would be appreciated. thanks
  23. i have just bought a 33 that came with adjustable tein coilovers, but i have reason to doubt that the front settings are equal. just curios as to whether the left and right dampner adjusters turn the same way or in opposing directions, can any one shed some light on the subject for me thanks
