Hrm thats political interference at its best (if that is the case) What I can't understand is that 3 pounds is still under an indictable quantity... you can have up to 2 kilos/4lb before the crown infers that the posession was anything other than personal use... If he got done for 3 lb, he'd be looking at a $500 fine max with or without a conviction (depending on how good the lawyer is and if the magistrate is having a good day and providing that its his first offence - secondary offences will just about always come with a conviction unless the circumstances are extremely extenuating)...Its almost not worth interfering, as stuff in the magistrates court barely gets reported by the media (altho being the son of the premier might have created a bit of a field day for the press)... I'm just not sure I buy that explaination - it'd be politically safer for his son to have copped the fine rather than there be any inference of corruption on Ranns part... Gah. Politicians (all of them) make me want to puke -D -D

I dunno what it is, but whenever I get pulled over they bretho me but never test me for weed... what are they trying to say, that I look like an alcoholic? ... ... Yeah OK fair point :| -D

Indeed he has to go, however the libs haven't put their hand up as a viable alternative atm. They're plagued by infighting and MHS has been silent on a large number of issues. Its like he wants to choose the more popular option without having any conviction behind his beliefs. That is why I doubt they'll get into power, and thats why we're probably going to have another term in Rannistan. And I for one, will NOT be voting for either party. Quite frankly do we really want to vote for a guy just to get another guy out? I'd prefer to vote for people that represent my ideology, sadly most state parties are lacking in ideas and simply oppose the views of the other party as a matter of due course (which is why NOTHING ever gets done in this state). -D

just go without the hookers for a week man, sif u cant afford it then -D

Yeah I can't help it... I'm like a dog chasing a car sometimes -D

An admirable sentiment but considering how inept the state liberals are, getting rid of rann is going to be like pissing into a class 5 hurricane ;( -D

Well it reeks of the bleeding heart brigade. Just cause someone dies doesn't mean anything. People die every day, you don't see us doing charity cruises for them. -D

Sure, if you know them personally. Its a bit weird to rock up at a funeral uninvited when you don't even know the bloke. I dont see why SAU as a club should be rocking up to some dudes funeral at random when he wasnt even a poster. I sure as hell don't want to associate myself with that sorta stuff. Otherwise we may as well join hands and sing kumbaya while holding placards 'wont someone please think of the children' at every opportunity -D

You asked this question only yesterday. If you want to know, ask in the 'performance/modification' section. SAU-SA is a relatively small part of the entire board and the people who know are more likely to frequent the national mechanical threads. -D
-
Fristly, this is a duplicated thread. One would question the logic of appearing in force at a funeral, after all there are going to be a lot of upset people there that may not appreciate 'high performance imports' at the funeral. If you want to rock up, fair enough but I don't think that this is something we should get involved in, unless we want to start a precedent of doing cruises for every car related fatality for every dude out there (no offence but he wasn't even a member of SAU - so why would I want to pay 'respect' for someone who was doing something brain achingly stupid?) $0.02 -D

I just recieved my rotors, yours shouldn't be too far behind. Thanks again Rianto, great deal -D

I like shows but I hate the costs associated with getting the car entered and ready Besides, mines hardly in any condition for display at the moment -D

Heh reubens barichello just owned the stupid channel 10 reporter.. he gets out his car, and the bloke comes over and sticks the mic in his face and says 'Ruebens, number 2 on the grid, it doesnt get much better than this does it?" Barichello pauses and says "Well except number one...." Classic. -D

http://www.optimabatteries.com.au/Content/...D51R_082004.pdf Thats the datasheet for the one I got, the D51. You most likely will have to have the japanese battery straps/terminal clamps replaced with the larger australian straps as the poles are thicker on aus standard batteries than the jap ones Mine cost me over $300 but under $400 from a place in pooraka... got that and the two terminals installed at the same time the auto electrician removed and replaced the corroded fusible link, labour was just over $100 for that but if you're just getting the clamps replaced then it won't be much more than $50 i'd assume -D

Not feeling sorry is not the same as believing they deserved to die. Clearly nobody is arguing this. Point is, this is a car enthusiasts website, and one of the cars involved was a skyline. This should serve as a stark reminder of what our cars are capable of when misused/abused. If you wanna go that fast, go to mallala. There are plenty of people on this board who arrange track days, so really theres no excuse to go that fast in a residential area. I feel very sorry for his family and friends. This is going to hurt them for a long time. -D
-
that article is now saying that the skyline driver lost a leg too.... sad that someone lost their life, but its hardly surprising if they were doing 150kph as is being reported... ;\ +1 for keeping the drag racing off the streets -D

Good question. I have a 32 gtr. IMHO it looks good enough that it doesnt need bodykit. Bodykit is sure to get the authorities attention So are flashy rims. I still run stock gtr 16" rims... Over time I've been removing the more offensive modifications or making them legal For example, I had a big dash mount boost gauge that I removed and placed a smaller one in a safe position - This being because gauges which are mounted on places that one might hit their noggin are a no-no I had a boost controller which I re-located to the glovebox to avoid detection, but I removed it as the turbos I get will be mechanically set to vent at the right pressure (and the ECU is getting an upgrade...) I still run the stock ECU.... regardless of what people say, there is a huge potential is recalibrating the stock ECU or getting an add-on board (Such as nistune sell) that I intend on upgrading to later. I do have pod filters and an aftermarket exhaust. My exhaust is quiet enough to be legal upon the noise restrictions, and since the car was imported under the 15 year rule and not SEIVS (being an '89) it is exempt from the 90+ EPA rules. That said, it still has a cat, a resonator and two JunBL mufflers. And the pod filters are bolted to the chassis so they don't fly around. I have coilovers - theyre not adjustible however the ride height is 10mm under legal height. I'll be getting some 1cm spacers to get it legal in the meantime, until I can afford sydneykids street suspension kit (totally legal). I have an N1 water pump, racing hose, aftermarket radiator. If anyone tries to defect me over this, I'll lmfao. I have a tint too, but its 100% legal. Apart from that, there are no engineering modifications. I've spent a bit of coin on getting blue LED's, a nice healthy stereo and a couple aftermarket gauges, but theyre located on the front dash behind the steering wheel (so I'd be hitting my head on a steering wheel rather than any gauges).... Thing is, defectable offences are indifferent to safety. I could get adjustible castor rods to improve the stability of the vehicle, and yet this would be deemed as defectable since its a critical component of the car which isnt stock standard. Theres the argument of using adjustible castor bushes but the degree of adjustibility is limited, and theres no saying that regency wouldnt crust you for that... ECU's like powerFC's are amusing to me. If you have an ECU, its installed behind the interior kick panel. Theres NO WAY you're going to get defected for an ECU unless you have a powerFC hand controller thats visible. From the sounds of it, its just your boost controller which is the issue. Be greatful. You can drive around with it for a while until the cops bust you. When that happens, simply remove the boost controller and go to regency - provided nothing else is modified, you'll pass without a hitch... -D
