  1. Well I am having a timing problem on my Series II motor. Mine always reads far advanced like 30 degree's. When I first got my car running I had the sensor almost fully advanced and it red 15 degreee's Car ran great! Then after a few days the car started to run slugish. I checked the timing and it was off the scale. I set it back to 15 degrees again. Now the sensor is in the middle of the range. When I set it to read 15 degrees the car runs very slow. With it set farther ahead it runs better. I turned my boost up to 10 psi (Everything stock except 3" turbo-back and HKS SSQ BOV) My car shoots flames between shifts. Is this nomral? I guess a S-AFC is needed?
  2. Anyone else? I haven't heard back from justjap yet.
  3. I recently got my RB25 clip to do my swap and after going over everything I found I need the following parts.... Timing belt Tensioner pulley PCV valve Thermostate These are the parts I need to move foward with the swap The car is a 95.5 Series II? (It has no igniter) The key chain says 95.5 on it. I can get timing belts in the US but only PE belts ($150 US) If anyone knows of a source in Japan that can get these parts for me that would be cool. Thanks Also Do you guys have Gates or Goodyear belts down there? If so I may be able to order one from our parts supplier if I can get a part # for the belt.
  4. I see why now. So not to many people down there run standered bushing turbo's. Ballbearings are nice but I would rather spend money on other things with my limited budget. So you thing a T3-60 turbo is the way to go? I would be alittle worried about compressor clearance in the S13. I guess I need to get the RB25 in the car first.
  5. I got a question for you all. Since I am from the US I am looking for a turbo for my RB25 S13. I have been doing alot of research on the turbo's you guys run but the #'s that are used for you trims are different then our. Here is a link to a turbo shop that I plan to get my turbo from. I will probaly run a T3/T4 with an internal wastegate. As far as oil line/coolent line mods go I have that figured out so I am just looking for a good sized turbo for a stock RB25. I would say somthing in the 400-450 HP range. http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gartur.html
  6. I think Jap turbos are some of the best quality turbos out there. They make really good power for there size. They just don't hve the same bang for buck that the old school American turbos have. You can pickup a T3/T4 turbo for around 550 new. Most HKS, Apex turbos start at over 1K and go up from there. As for the VG30 turbo there was never any VG30DET powered cars in the US. Unless you are talking about the VG30ET from the older 300zx's. The only other turbo VG we got was the twin turbo 300zx. But from what you have said I think my money would be better invested in a good FMIC.
  7. I have done a bit of searching here and I found alot of posts about turbo upgrades but most of the disscusion is on turbo's that I am don't know much about (Jappeness turbos) I just wanted to know how this turbo would stack up against the stock one. The car would be daily driven and I am looking to make around 300-350 HP (260-300 WHP) once all mods are in place. I figured replacing the turbo first would keep the car more reliable since the stock one car fail if over speed or detination happens. I guess I could go with a T3/T4 with an internal wastegate. They are kinda rare since most people go with larger external wastegates. I would guess a T04E compressor with aleast a 50 trim and a .68 exhaust with a stage III wheel would do the trick.
  8. Hi. This i smy first post. I am from the States and I own a 240sx (180sx to you guys) I am waiting for my RB25DET clip to come in and I have done some research on the stock turbo performance. I found this highflow T3 turbo and was wondering how it matches up to the RB25DET engine. As you can see the compressor flow is 35lbs/min. That should be good for 350 hp. I don't know if any turbo rebuilders here in the states will know what to do with the stock RB25 turbo. Here is a link to the site that sells this turbo. he specs are listed there. I know it will problably take some fab but that's ok I ahve always made my own DP's on past turbo cars http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gart3sup.html
