MXT Imports

I agree totally Steve. A mate of mine just bought a Evo 3 from Victoria, (technically its a GSR modified into an Evo 3 as you cannot import Evo 3's in Australia.) However, all the modifications have been approved and the car came accompanied with an engineer's certificate for ALL modifications, and was cleared and registerd in Victoria, complies with all ADR's and then he gets it here and Regency says, sorry we don't care about your engineer's certificate or the fact that the car's already been registered in another state, we want a full inspection and we'll tell you when we feel like doing it! The poor bloke tried to explain that he was gonna be in breach of contract if the car isn't registered with SA plates under his name within 2 weeks and they didn't even give a f**k!! I mean the car was Aus. Delivered to begin with and has already been cleared!!

where? In melbourne? If so, can you give me some names cos my guy in Melbourne said they he couldn't get any plates for me or get any cars complied there and then brought here. I'd really appreciate dude, cos if he's lying to me, I wanna know + means I can finally get the Supra we've had sitting in da mechanics for the last 3 months finally on the road! cheers

Hey sxy R33, I know ya did your homework, and you are right that's about the right price, but at the moment there is no compliance so if u import now, the car won't be going on the road any time soon cos the good people in our government are too busy walking around with their thumbs jammed firmly up their as...

naiwiboo is right, next year you can get a sweet '89 model twin-turbo 300 (which is the same shape as the '90, '91, '92 model etc.) for sweet f.a. And n/a's for even less. If you're serious about a 300, you might as well wait another 6 months and import an '89 model and get in under the 15 year rule. Believe me, you'll appreciate the savings and so will your wallet!

Hey, i might be able to help but it will take time. You can't apply for import approval into Australia for roughly the next three months while they change the law. However, we have an agent in Japan and I can ask him to look for one and get me a price, and then we can go from there if you're interested? The price will cover compliance and shipping, basically once we can apply for approval and work out payment, the car will arrive in 2 - 4 weeks and will be on the road in 2 - 4 weeks. Let me know p.s. we do have an agent in Sydney too
