Bumping an old thread for others with similar questions.
Daily an X MR is very nice.
Sat nav, heated seats, cruise control, auto lights and wipers, proximity start and entry, there's a LOT to like.
Are they as fun as the older models?
Not sure, never had the chance to drive an older gen. But, I've now got a second X which I'm not dailying purely to keep the kms down.
Keep in mind, I had a 32 gtr with a china gt42 and a has dog box that I used as a daily, so it all comes down to how comfortable you want to be.....

My new daily; 2012 audi a6
- adjusted sat nav voice level
- adjusted bass and treble levels
- adjusted side and back bolster settings
- adjusted night vision camera contrast
-drove it

Not completely.
And, being here for 1 night has reminded me just how much more I prefer this platform.

Welcome!
With that user name, I'm guessing you like chryslers as well?
We don't discriminate here, and generally love all things cars, so post some pics if you get a chance.

Hi
I am trying to join SAU NSW as a new member
I filled in the form on www.saunsw.com.au/store
I selected the $70 new membership package, clicked on Add to Cart, a popup window form appears, I filled in my detail then NOTHING. No check out, No next to pay or anything to let me finish. No email to tell me i have to verify my request. There is no number for me to call... its not very friendly
Does anyone know how to get this done?
I tried emailing [email protected] but no body is responding???
Please Help!!
Firstly, welcome.
Second, if you have any further problems, shoot me a message and I will pass it along to some if the execs.
Will be trying to spend a little more time on here.

Wait until you realise there's now a fastener/driver made called Torx Plus, and a Torx driver fits Torx plus heads. But under hogh torque will strip the driver or head...
Yep, they basically have a double thickness star point.
I swear they purely make different fasteners so they can sell more tools.

SAU turns 20 this year believe it or not. I'd love to do something to celebrate but not sure what.
Unlikely to happen, but I miss SAU nationals.
Either way, I miss what this place used to be.
Have literally made life long friends.

Nice mate.
Hopefully I will get mine e running o e day.
Not sure if I should try and push for this year.
2020 hasn't been great, and I don't want to jinx the car.

He he yep I did a search and this thread came up. Nope not looking for savings but just though last time I checked that was cheaper than 98 but you use allot more of it anyway but now can’t believe how much more expensive it is! But probably doesn’t have a big market in Canberra with only 2 servos selling it so got to be expected..
it USED to be cheaper, but the market dropped out of it, and they realised performance peeps would still pay for it.
Now Caltex doesnt sell E flex, makes even more sense, as they have a monopoly on the market.

down south FTMFW!

welcome.
that tyre difference isnt that significant, so would wait until they are worn out and require replacement anyway.
the silver looks nice on it.
any plans for mods? or leaving standard?
-
welcome.
im sure no matter what you do, your brother would appreciate it.
as above, black isnt just hard to get right, its also hard to maintain.
red could be cool, or just leave it white with red and black accents throughout.
not sure about Vic, but in NSW, its much easier to get a standard car passed than any mods.
just take it slow and see if your feelings change.
-
welcome.
all depends on the car.
do you live in Aus looking to import just a car?
or, are you moving from NZ and bringing a personal car with you?
all comes down to sale price, plus shipping costs, plus registration costs and possibly duties/taxes.
-
welcome.
head studs are a good idea.
may or may not require head gasket.
what are your goals/aims for the car?
what do you enjoy doing with it?
this will determine which route you should head down.

Plenty of info in these hallowed halls.
And we definitely appreciate the pics(everyone loves pics)

Another option(if you like them) will be the Forrester GT.
They look pretty good with a nice set of wheels and lowered a little.
I haven't had too much to do with the subies, but have heard their gearboxes are a weak point if you go a solid centre clutch.
Good luck with the hunt!

Hmm.
I honestly doubt that.
