Not sure. If i see anything for a r31 import i'll upload it. I'd imagine some of it would be similar. But it think alot of it would be differnt.

r31_service_manual_ti_diagram.pdf uplaoded. hope it helps.

no worries.. it was a long time of playing around. But eventualy i found the main problem to be the unit. I hope it works all out. Drives me nuts when you a/c does not work in summer.

Hey wow it's one of my old posts. Yeah I manage to find the problema and fix it. (It still plays up every now and then but usualy been quite good). One method to get it working when it plays up is to accelerate up in the 5k 6k mark. anyway... I changed the AAC unit.. or actually IAA unit (not sure what is what when it comes to the names off it) which stands for well AAC is something like Auxilary Air Control i think or something like that. What it does is when the engine is on load at idle it will turn on and componsate adding a bit of revs by changing amount of air feedback. Now what happens when u get bellow a certain Idle point the computer goes Oh crap what's going on were loosing power better turn stuff off and turns off is the a/c. What actual happens is that one of 2 things happens .. or both. 1. the seal inside the unit actually just wares out and leakes air. 2. the spring becomes compressed and does not rebound back to it's orignal point therefore not responding quick enough to componsate load. I went to zoom and bought a second hand unit for about $90 now if i remeber it was something like $600+ new from nissan. Also there are two type of the unit that fitted on the r32. but not sure for the r33. The unit can be found at the back of the plenum. it has a 2 pin connector with a solinoid. Also as 2 air pipes running into it and should have an Idle adjustment screw. And like a bolt on module to the plenum. U can take it off and clean it out and usualy the gasket does'nt brake. I've played with 2 now and still have both gaskets ok. Just a clean out show some improvement on my r32. Alot of carbon builds up inside the unit.

My climate control worx fine. I have heard that dry joints can develop on the display to the pcb. Well i have heard one instance of a guy who resolderd the display and he had no more problems with the unit. Untill my own unit bigins to fail I wont know the exact answer. But I have noticed every now and then when i turn my unit on it starts in diagnostic mode. not often.. like once or twice.

I was thining of taking a few photo's on how to do it. And than posting it up. I dont think u need to go as small as I did with the smd (surface mount device) components. If i do one of the light fittings again I'll take a photo off it. My m8 needs his R31 lights converted the use the same housing in the light switches on dash sarounding cluster.
-
I changed my lights to leds. Pull out those crappy lights that always blow. I went out and bought wire wrap and some 805 SMD resistors and some 603 SMD leds. Been working fine. I soldered the componetes and wired the wires in the light fittings.

I uploaded an old r31 service manual that I had acquired from somewhere. I dont know how many 31 drivers are around these days but the support for r31's on the ftp site looked a bit short. I beleive it's the au version not import.

My old silvia one was near the exhaust manifold (ca18) Well that's where i think the mehcanic was looking when doing it's safety cert.. Have a look around there anyway. I know it's not the same engine but the are very similar (in thiere ways) and are both nissan engines. I dont know where exactly, but I hope this can help a bit. Good luck !

Hey if u r looking for the paint code that is original from nissan all u need to do is put your VIN number into the nissan fast software. Which is downloadable on the site somewhere(well a link a thread somewhere). It's pretty big though so if you are happy enough to put your vin on the forum someone could search it and give you the original paint code.

is there anyone in Brisbane that can do this work.. I'd be interested to know. I wonder if they can re-work it down?

Could be a valve actually has an arrow on it. .. Thought it was a directrion array like the one filters had, I can blow backwards down the valve though , So it thinks it's a filter.. not entirely sure

Anyone know where I can get an in line water filter to replace the filter for the water spray thin on the back windscreen on the R32. very hard to describe but it is small and round and not too much biger than a key on your keyboard. U'll find it under the backseet sort of on the edge of the parcell shelf. It's half green and half white plastic. I have just put a joiner in for now, but if anyone knows were u can find this filter or a similar filter to do the job. It would be greatly apreciated. Thanx.

Which is no good for me cus i just cant get the time off work.. But I will look around Again tommorow. I see you are on the gold coast, How much would u estimate personaly for a new R32 windscreen.

excellent. thanx for the advice. I'll be making phone calls today.

Might give them a bell 2morrow. I thought that they only did home windows. Might see i can get it repaired. I had a truck drop a hole lot of small tones when i drove past. Put small little chips all over the glass. so many of them. And i tried to rub some of it off and i manage to put a couple of scrathces in. So not going 2 touch it anymore.. get a pro to look at it.

I always used a ryco filter. Z145A. No problems yet. You'll find there is much debate wether which oil is better than the other. I dont think there much all that differnce between them (with in reason mobile, motul etc.). If u plane to change it every 5000k's it probably not worth spending big bucks on top line top brand oils. But If your loaded with cash and money no object than its a differnt story. I using a Penrite semisynthetic oil Hpr5 5w 40 at the moment. And i dont have any complaints or problems.

Ok. Thanx Steve for the advice. I probably stick to the heavy duty clutch. Might get a daiken heavy duty clutch I think. I might change it after the new year. As it seemed to drive alot better today. Would not slip on me. I even droped the clutch and it slipped just a little. So in the new year new clutch. Also gives me abit of time to get what i realy want. Which at the moment is becoming more clear. Thanx guys for the input its been of great help.
-
How much did they quote for the clutch Timd?. I think that's probably what i want 2 get or something quite similar.
-
I'll c what I get quoted 2 morrow R33 Steve. What side of town is your mechanic by the way?
