  1. http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=14027 as an example 17k for a 95 for 120k on the clock ! and thats landed and complied , add more for rego inspection , demod for licensing etc etc etc does have some nice goodies and everyone loves nismo red
  2. some nissan toyota rims dont clear the center hub ring on the magnas , it depends the rim though.......
  3. vq35 vipec's plug ins are in development , v88 wire in would work right now although you would be the test guinea pig to calibrate the drive by wire (or ditch it) . stock ecu remains to talk to the bcm to control all non engine car functions . be wary of the supercharged stock internal vq , they make a bucketload of low down torque even at small boost and are prone to hurting rods . even a basic rebuild with some forged stuff might be a good idea if for longevity if nothing else. will be an awesome engine though , so responsive .
  4. we have some nice r33 sII manual coupes coming in soon your not going to see as many r33 gtsts around dealers as you used to going forward . the exchange rate makes them less attractive to import now and belieive it or not ive started to see prices for really nice ones going up in japan at auction recently . this is the same thing that happened to r32s a while ago , less and less really really good examples will mean higher prices in the long term
  5. last time i had my rims painted : nice r34 gtr rims super freshly painted all as new 20km after paint brushed a curb 2 big scrapes down 2 rims.... now I would recommend powdercoating its cheaper and hardier
  6. hybrid , monsta , cooling pro , the malaga one its all the same china stuff made in the same china factory the monsta ones are really old ones they had for ages , the newer ones have a few minor changes to help fit generally these kits all vary by quality of fit , ie how well the pipes and brackets are made . I have seen some with pipes easily a inch to short in length which means the cooler sits in a poor spot or not straight and takes more time to fit also visually check the core if you can , many with bent/not straight top and bottom plates and poor welding of end tanks . wont cause any issues but looks crap I would not recommend the stock IC at all , this is not an issue about surface are and cooling ability in limited time situations (drag/street) its about how restrictive the the stock one is . Tiny inlet/out let , tiny end tanks and severe bends are all very bad . just the boost in airflow movement by ditching it will give noticable performance increase when fitting a fmic
  7. the most I have ever had to wait for a plate under normal circumstances was 3 weeks over the holiday period 2007 when dotars were down on staff for the break most likely your trusted compliance shop had run out of plates and was waiting on more to become avaliable . so they blamed dotars
  8. splitfire prosport smoked about 90$ roughly can also get the defis in
  9. i have a half dozen silencers sitting on the ground about to go into a skip bin hurry before they do and they are yours
  10. i can get you in some nice looking defi style cheap guages cheap guages look good , not very accurate so dont rely on them to do anything than go up and down
  11. damn good game latest update has started freezing my ps3 occasionally though
  12. the au fed buying currency does not support or sustain a particular level as such , it merely smooths out such radical movements in currencies that we have seen recently . the fed did say this when they bought auds , they were not seeking a specific level , just 10% movements over short periods of time would be damaging and must be managed. sharemarkets and commodity markets are starting to rise in the last few weeks . this is a good sign . soft commodities in particular (coffee , corn , concrete etc) have made considerable moves as doomsday scenarios priced in to current markets have faded away and core fundamental supply shortfalls have risen as the major trading force once again . many hard commodities as in a similar situation , relatively stable demand and very low supply . this will over the next few months to the end of the year sustain the aud as will hopefully more stable world markets as risk aversion dissipates if there is any sort of catastrophe , major corporate collapse or extremely bad data over that time risk aversion will again be the driving market force and aud will be hammered another round , probably to fifty. thats pretty much a 50/50 gamble , just look at the us auto makers if they collapse we will be at 50c. if not normal supply demand equations will factor in and the simple fact is the world needs resources . perhaps not at the level we had 12 months ago but a pretty healthy level just to supply basic comsumption the jpy is a different kettle of fish . ridiculously over valued , propped up by massive internal reserves and foreign debt reserves and a political establishment unable or unwilling to take hard measures to sort out the currency. one would hope over the next 6-12 months political pressure will become unbearable and the government will have to take mesures to move the yen to a sustainable point. if not quite simply some of the big Japanese exporters that are household names will simply not exist . Toyota recently announced 8% price rises in aus for their product against a currency 40% devalued in 3 months . clearly thats unsustainable. the japanese governement hasnt sold major amounts of its yen reserveres since the early 90s and holds more of its own currency than any other government on the planet by a large amount in short hang in there , its a gamble but if conditions work out ok , and personally i think they will and have already started to move in the right direction , you will see positive gains in the aud. its not going to take much . really at 70 yen and current prices many cars become viable and at 80 yen we can see a rebound in car prices in japan and still be ok
  13. my last car was tuned and ran on peak 98 exclusively , 330rwhp rb25 running up to 1.4bar no detonation issues ran great i honestly dont think it makes a heap of difference between brands , peak is just closest and best servo around here
  14. your rb20s worth about 500$ so dont spend TOO much money......... comp test it before you do it , you might find its half dead
  15. supra 6 spd or v35 6spd would be preferable and easier however they question would be why you would do this . given the r32/33 gtr - 33/34 gtst gearbox is pretty strong , good for 350kw at the wheels quite easily your extremely unlikely to push the limits of that box in r34 gtt . so why go for the extra hassle ? much more sensible idea as you already have the manual box is to purchase an a/m gear set cost 3-4k and put that in , would probably be stronger than stock getrag and no size , tunnel , transfer , custom issues to worry about
  16. plug in is v44 with extra injector drivers , not v88 cut down . im pretty sure its covered in this thread a few times but at 20 pages its hard to find specifics now
  17. can someone post a pic of the link g4 board ? my understanding is they are indeed different , hardware , logic , firmware etc . vipec is manufactured by link and looks like it does use same case but beyond that would be nice to confirm. either way product is great , if link g4 is as good , even better another great option have one in my personal gtr now and even with a quick rough 1hr tune starts and idles better than factory
  18. surely you didnt import a car under the raws scheme knowing that it must be STOCK FACTORY CONDITION and now just realised there would be cost involved ? V35 parts can be expensive and hard to get , if you have to source them yourself it could get expensive . not every compliance shop has every oem part especially for newer cars like v35 I am sure your broker fully made you aware of this though after all you paid him $ 1,100 to do that.

    Pits

technically if you cut the chassis for the return pipe or cut some of the reinforcement bar its illegal and the can and have made people take them off and weld up the hole
  20. decat for flamez have a couple left at old pre-aud collapse i think..... why has it crapped itself ? is all the insides rattling around ? if so gut it for stealth de-cat mode
  21. to defer your tax laibility for imported goods at the time of arrival you need a turnover of 20million or more per year and then you get to defer it to a pay monthly scheme

    Movember

no threads in wa im i the only one? represent!
  23. import charges are not the same , customs taxes are payed in the value of the car in the current exchange rate and shipping is usually in us dollars although with some exchange rate corrections very difficult to get a cheap GOOD r34 gtr at the moment . even with the seller taking a hit on their already reduced prices , say 2.5m that would be just under 50k to just land it , let alone comply register and transfer into your name lct if applicable repairs tyres panel and paint etc etc etc and of coarse some economists are predicting the dollar to hit 40c us , I dont even want to contemplate r34 gtrs at that exchange rate! the mexican peso looks good in compo to the aussie , the aud is the 2nd most devalued currency (worked agaist economic performance , gdp etc) in the developed world just behind iceland
