yeh, like he said, it's got no real practical purpose but to look cool
I guess on drift cars, the less tyre on the road (at the back) = the better, so stretched tyres = less on the road (because they bulge in the middle)
from a grip standpoint, your getting less tread on the road though
although on high speed corners it feels like there is less flex in the wall. i just got new tyres (un streatched) 225 and it is now apparant on corners that the tyre has a little bit more give in it. just my two cents.
