  1. Yes, as mentioned before, you can use this method to trigger the alert. Once the main power gets disconnected for longer than 3 seconds, you will get the alert on your mobile phone. It usually takes around 5 to 8 seconds for you to get the alert from the time the main power is cut off.
  2. Frankly, you can get a fairly clean stock manual R34 GT-T 2 doors imported directly from Japan now for under 17.5k landed and complied. Your car seems to be above average, so probably add 1-2k on top of it in stock condition. Sell the aftermarket parts separately. Put it up on Carsales at a higher price and then reduce it a little every 1-2 weeks, and after a few weeks you'll get a realistic idea of how much it's actually worth on the market. You'll never know when you're gonna get lucky. Just my 2c
  3. This has been discussed before: "You may also be able to use the main power cut alert function as an alert trigger, so if you have an aftermarket alarm system just connect a relay between the unit's power cable and the siren, that way when the siren is set off it will temporarily cut its main power and triggers its automatic alert. The unit will call your mobile phone if the main power is cut off for longer than +/- 3 seconds, so you will not get false alerts from locking/unlocking your car. This relay trick should work if the siren on the car blares continuously, not intermittently. Therefore, it should be okay with most aftermarket car alarm systems."
  4. Among many others, Google Maps are also mostly free and easy to use. Use this link: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&tab=wl Enter the coordinates that you've received in the sms, and that's it. For EXAMPLE: 33.877935 s 151.218958 e
  5. Yes still on.... With regard to the GPRS connection to an IP address, this advanced function is probably more relevant for companies with a fleet of vehicles to track at the same time. So instead of using the low-cost SMS commands via GSM, the unit will constantly send data to your computer (with tracking software & modem) via GPRS which is pretty costly. This is the sort of function used by transport & logistics companies to track their fleet and they have a dedicated monitoring centre for it. That's why I think the unit's main sms command function is good enough for private uses since it won't cost you much at all (only sms's).
  6. It looks like one those auto jackets from Thailand, plenty of them on eBay. $50 delivered is still pretty cheap though, and I do not mean to say that this jacket of yours isn't authentic.

  8. Those who are interested and prepared to commit to the purchase, please let me know.
  9. It's still going if anymore people are interested in this.
  10. It works side by side with any alarm systems. It's a standalone unit with only two wires to connect (power & earth). You may also be able to use the main power cut alert function as an alert trigger, so if you have an aftermarket alarm system just connect a relay between the unit's power cable and the siren, that way when the siren is set off it will temporarily cut its main power and triggers its automatic alert. The unit will call your mobile phone if the main power is cut off for longer than +/- 3 seconds, so you will not get false alerts from locking/unlocking your car. This relay trick should work if the siren on the car blares continuously, not intermittently. Therefore, it should be okay with most aftermarket car alarm systems.
  11. One person has withdrawn because he just bought a car that already has a tracker in it. So we still need 4 more ppl. Seems pretty slow. Any of those on the list wants to buy more than one?
  12. What made it lighter than a standard R34 GT-R shell?
  13. For those who can wait, I've organised a group buy. Need at least 10 for it to go ahead. It might take a while for it to go ahead, that's if it ever goes ahead. Just check out the group buy section if interested http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...Ca-t200630.html
  14. Yes it has that sort of feature. The unit comes to me without any badging from the manufacturer. They also sell it to wholesalers/distributors all over the world, and then the wholesalers/distributors put whatever brand they want on it and mark up the price like crazy. For FAQ's please refer the other thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...Ca-t200341.html
  15. Yes mate, sorry about that. I was thinking that I could squeeze a discount from the manufacturer if I bought more, but I just talked to them and they said no, has to be at least 100 units for a discount (as stated above). What can I do? They normally deal with wholesalers, not private buyers like us.
