  1. I've got some adjustable actuators on my 26 and and a bit unsure about them, and i have some n1 actuators i know work, are there any difference between stock and n1 actuators? cheers
  2. Its got adjustable ones on it for some reason,had heaps of tension on them too
  3. still laggy with stock ecu, timing belt has been changed before i got it but the car has always been laggy but timings been tripple checked? from memory the cam gears are pretty close to 0
  4. checked base timing 3 times mate haha, no they are stock turbos not n1s, im from tasmania i dont have a cat lol, yes it does have adj cam gears, could it be possible its a combination of incorrectly set gears and the low compression?
  5. the whole car is apart for the second time, everything changed with something that had known to be working off a mates, i just havnt had the head off.

My rb26 is extremely laggy, makes about 12 psi at around 5500rpm from memory, checked everything twice, thing is the compression is down, ranging from 135-118, would this be the cause of that amount of lag? only other thing that im unsure about is that its got split dump pipes on it and have never had anything to do with them cheers

  9. He did say it was just like the cam timing was out but i did it by the marks and he did it by the marks and counted the number of teeth on the belt, cant realy be anything else out there? if the harmonic balancer had shifted that would make the teeth count uneven?
  10. they were at zero because i put them on, i know he had the cover off because he thought the valve timing was wrong and he checked it, and it was still laggy with the standard gears, i just don't know what it was left at but i can check, will they make 2000+rpm difference being just a degree or so out? cheers
  11. will check the exhaust must be last thing before removing turbos, it does have adjustable cam gears but its just had a tune so they would of been played with, and it was laggy before i changed from stock ones cheers guys
  12. taking vacuum lines off actuators didnt make any difference, i did end up having a inlet manifold gasket gone but that hasnt fixed it. replaced anything thsat looked even half dodgy (hoses etc) still no better! thinking it has to be turbo related? funny thing is the afm reading is around the same

  16. ive tried another intercooler and lower piping and had the other piping off but i have never heard of a hiclone! one thing is the afms are reading around the same volatge so each turbo should be sucking the same amount of air which is swinging me towards a boostleak/restriction

  18. Might have to compression test it, kind of been putting it off because then i might have to rebuild it! makes sense harey ill give it a go, easier than taking the dump pipes off to check if the flaps are sealing which is all i could think of to do next! cheers guys
  19. well im pretty sure i didnt have any and the tuner checked too, once it gets to 12 it holds it fine? isnt it still laggy for n1s? and shouldnt it of made more power? i guess the engine could be tired thanks for everyone input
  20. should i be making more that 200awkw on 12 psi if i have nismo turbos though? or are these the same size just steel wheeled? and do these have a special part number for me to check? cheers
  21. 3 inch off dump pipes to 3.1/4ish id say where they meet, cat looks like its got a pipe through it but i havnt pulled it off to check, now this did cross my mind about being blocked but wouldn't this make the overall power output lower? thankyou for ur reply
  22. I bought a r32 gtr and always thought it was too laggy for stock turbos but after checking everything i could think of just decided thats how it was. I bought a power fc, adjustable cam gears, boost controller and took it to a dyno tuner that was very highly recommended where he informs me that this is not normal so after a full day of him checking everything its making 200awkw on 12 psi which is apparently about right but it doesnt make full boost til after 5,500 rpm it just builds up slowly Has anyone heard of this? cam timing has been down by the marks and the amount of teeth on the belt, no vacuum boost leaks, turbo actuators have heaps of pressure on them, i have inspected the compressor wheels on the turbos, swapped intercoolers, air filters arent restrictive, really the next thing is to inspect the exhaust wheels and the flaps to make sure they are sealing but because thats not a fun job i thought id see if anyone else has come across this problem and my tuner has never had this happen before Standard turbos, standard manifolds (no exhaust leaks) im assuming just no brand stainless dump pipes the kind that seperate the wastegate from the exhaust and the plumb back in (which im not a fan of) cheers
