  1. Hi Nigel, once I buy another digital camera, I'll take some pics. My one year old camera hit a wall, floor and floor again after it decided to jam up, ahem! it doesn't even turn on now.I'll take pics of the items I changed out and renewed.
  2. [ Hey Chris, is that a Toyota Deluxe (2.600)? if so I was looking at one of those today at Martin Falconers place. Don't know if you know him or not. It was a bit rough and was powered by a Holden 6. Ricky
  3. It's done, finished, finito. I've just been around the block at a steady pace and no clunks or grinds, in fact it's quiet as. I've still got one nut to tighten, one of those hard to get to at the time ones, but now that the tail shaft is rotated I'll get it tomorrow. Thanks for the help and support. D, I have that flange still and it's yours for the freight price. Cheers Rick. Ps Navara, not now. Maybe Lattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr much lattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttter
  4. That is Sweeeeeeet Chris. It's so good to see cars of this era restored to the likes of yours. Hopefully we'll meet up one day at some vehicle convention here in the West. Maybe Motorvation or Powercruise or even better a Datsun/Nissan event. Gee let's start planning that!
  5. D, your totally on the money. By the time you read this post my flange should have been changed out with a 260z one and a victory burn out? stay tuned as I'm getting new tyres once the Superlites turn up, actually more likely after I've done a few more overtime shifts. Luckily it's shutdowns galore at work currently. Cheers for your help, oh and D that flange is your providing I don't have to do a trade in deal.
  6. Thanks for the words of sympathy Drew, I also should've rung around and found out the pros and cons of undertaking this task. After reading about your recent pains my probs don't seem so bad. At least my motor still kicks ass. Also today my friend who builds up Z cars told me he can change the drive flange on the R200 to suit my tailshaft, this could finally be the end of my probs. Rick.
  7. Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!!! excuse the outburst of total, and absolute frustration.Straight bolt in! where's that f'n gun. After hours of toil under the car, I got the R200 in complete with new moustache bar which actually does fit.Went to bolt the driveshaft to the pinion drive flange on the LSD and guess what? they're totally different sizes. The 4 little nuts and bolts don't line up at all.Farrrrrrrrrrrrrk again. Now I'm going to have to some how modify my driveshaft flange to suit the R200 flange. Got to say it again Faaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!!!!!!!!!! Don't suppose this has happened to anyone else by coincidence?
  8. New moustache bar was completed today, unfortunately I can't pic it up till Monday due to work. They haven't worked out the price yet. Also ordered new rims, 16x8 superlites, -4 for the back and 0 offset for the front. Hoping to run 235/45R16 on the rear and 205/50R16 on the front. Slowly it's coming together. I'm also getting the car repainted in ?????? colour.A friend of mine has almost finished his new workshop out on some acreage, he's an ex spray painter. He's talking $1500 as there isn't too much prep as my acrylic is in good nick. I' still haven't buffed it back yet, now there's no need, even better.
  9. Has anyone ever seen a shop or markets, some sought of an outlet that sells mostly old Skyline parts?
  10. WHAT!! you mean I gotta spend more money again. So what'll happen if I just install it and go launching in it? don't tell me i'm going to break it. So now I need to install some plates. Will a difff place tell me what the current static lb is. F$%#K me this had better be worth it, like dropping a whole second of my 1/4 mile time. L.S.D= LOST SHITLOADS of DOLLARS
  11. And would any of them be 4.1?
  12. And if I bought one of yours, would that save me money? I'll look into the 280zx theory
  13. Can everyone excuse my ignorance and will someone lightly explain to me what coilovers are. I know they're to do with suspension/ struts but how do the differ from what I have now on my 210? What is the benefits? You can just tell me to go look it up on the net if you want( slinks off)
  14. Pheewww, it fits.
  15. D, the 260 is like your one, also symetrical. There is no other option than to have one made. I took it to a spring place today. They think they can do it and it'll be around the $200 mark. I also had my mate who sold me the 260Z shafts ring me , as he has someone wanting a R200. Wanted to know if I'd sell it. I was for a moment tempted and if it was'nt for me really really wanting LSD, it might have been different. On a brighter note, my strut brace turned up today( shit I have'nt checked to see if it fits). Back soon
  16. 525mm from center to center, so heaps different and the C210 is offset.
  17. [i'll just go check
  18. Is this going to be a "straight bolt in" job, gee I hate using that term. So does this prized piece of steel fit my requirements, ie the 2 main bolt holes are the same as mine, but the bar is 20mm shorter as such, the R200 being that much longer. Yes I'll wait if this eets my need without further alteration. Cheers Ricky
  19. Hi D, Originally I was wanting to get it in quickly, now I'd be happy to have it in within a month. You got somethin on your mind, know where one happens to be lying idle by chance or you've got 2 jacks, a balaclava and a dark night lined up?
  20. Drew, you should take a couple of pics and post'em. I'm sure it would be of interest to many. I'm left with 2 maybe 3 options with my moustache bar, so if you can help it would be appreciated. Have a new one made. Change mounts( bolted to the car) the moustache bar attaches too. Shift the bolts back 20mm buy making new plates. Or if the R30 or Dr30 bar is close to my needs, I'll use one of these.( Really need a pic or 2 of these bars).
  21. Yeah, it has it's setbacks living here in the West. Import monster send their stuff to the east, and would'nt send directly to me. I've seen many parts I'd like to have snavelled, but the freight put me right off. I'm getting the moustache bar done for free by the fitters at work. A mate who works alongside them is picking it up this avo and taking it in for adjustments.
  22. [Thanks for making me feel better Nick, LOL. Don't Import Monster charge heaps for getting it to ya? I've used their calculation thingy and it just seems way too much sometimes. What price have you been charged and for what item bought to your door?
  23. D, I just spoke to SWM and they'll charge me $250 for a new moustache bar. So let's see now $1200 for the diff $ 90 for freight $ 360 for 260Z halfshafts( and that was mates rates) SWM would have been $470 $ 250 for moustache bar ( if SWM) fabricated it for me $ 50 for posting the M-Bar So this could all add up to about 2 G, not really that cheap. Thankfully I should be able to get a M-Bar made at work for about a 5th of that.
  24. Yeah, just read your pm. Thanks D, it's good to have it sorted. Do I actually have to make a new m- bar. Can't I just redrill and put a spacer in?
  25. Thought I'd share this little project incase anyone else was thinking of doing it also. The diff is a 3.9 R200 LSD originally out of a DR30. The diff centre is all I obtained initially as I was under the impression the R180 flange and halfshafts would suffice. After having a hard long look at it once it arrived I was unsure about what I was embarking on. A phone call to Stewart Wilkinsons, Datsport and a friend who races and builds Z cars confirmed the obvious. The R180 has a single retaining bolt to hold the halfshaft inside the diff. The R200 has a flange (seperate item to the halfshaft) that is held in place with the use of a clip, when the flange is pushed into the diff it locks itself into a purpose made groove. As you can see in the pics the half shafts are totally different . Although the R180 flange end may fit into the spline cavity, there is no way of securing it in place. The replacement flange and halfshaft were sourced from a 260Z R200 diff. All that is required now is some changes to the moustache bar.
