  2. the only grease monkey i trust is me.

  3. The cranck my be standard but im sure it will be all about the clearences, stud size, clamping torques, oil gallery enlargments including bearing shells, i wonder how much nascar engine spec is applied to a meir nissan 6 ?
  4. Mate ; how much for the head only no manifolds required and is it still in running order ? cheers george
  5. Gary understand where your coming from but yes in every change that i make i will use my alignment equipment to check and i will be using my corner scales and yes will be keeping records. As most parts that i fabricate and machine including rose joints need to be tested. Chow.
  6. I'm about to put the skyline on scales this weekend without an engine and gearbox what do you guys think it will weight my normal wet weight is approx 1420 kg nearest guess wins a prize ?? lol.
  7. Richard Sounds like you know a trick or two with suspension setups are you running rosejoints ? and what were the benefits as i'm just in the suck and see stage.

  11. Hi Chris; the current turbo setup is garrett gt35 it runs around 500 rw hp i have tried to4z on a previous engine great for horsepower but to laggy. at the moment i;m using tow straps on a sandwich plate seem to work i;ve been pulled out of the gravel trap at queensland raceway and it survived .
  12. the wet weight is approx 1400 kg:s i;m slowly reducing it my biggest gain was wiring harness about 20 kg.
  13. Noel stop waving the carrot my shed leave pass has been reduced to just n3 hours a night but on a light note i;ve just finished changing my inner door skin and picked up 2kg;s and 1 kg on steering column mod.
  14. Do you guys have any ideas on removing weight out of on my r33??? i started today with removing the steering column support bracket i think i might pick up 0.3 kg i guess i still have a long way to go .
  15. hey guys you can leave doors without inner skin you just need to tension diagonally with light weight 4mm stainless wire in a letter x will keep door from flexing and weight saving.
  16. Hi Roy i have the usuall stuff a RB 30 bottom end that gives me more problems than a 16 yearold school girl and ppg box mechanical diff alcon brakes i built it myself about 4 years ago and now i:m doing a full rebuild .
  17. Here are some photos of my r33 circuit car that i'm currently rebuilding.

  19. phunky monkey i;m in brisbane and ican pass on contact number he will be doing my car next week if you can give me your car details it will speed the process. George.
  20. Mate you can get a race car harness in australia i;ve just stripped every wire in my R33 track car, next week there;s a electrician who only fit;s out track cars coming over to run a basic loom will only have starter button , fan, brake lights and the wiring around engine which is quick release at the firewall .
  21. while were on the subject of traction has anyone fitted solid plastic or alloy diff support bushes on the rear diff on r33 gtst and found any improvement in rear feel on track conditions as i haven;t been able to find urethane bushes i;m resorting to nylon.
  22. Gary: i guess i'm just pushing my 2 wheel GTST barrow, i have never driven a GTR nor had any mechanical experience with one . Mate I;m to old to be retrained in 4 wheel technology at present my GTST is enough of a challenge. Maybe one day someone will offer me a drive and i;ll have a change of heart, buy for now when on the track i;ll have to treat all GTRS as the enemy. Ta George.
  23. Mate go the GTST you dont need talent to pull good times in a GTR but i guess it depends on what class your intrested in running in.
  24. Gary you just shatteredmy dreams of achieving a 1 second gap with a GTR on time attack in brisbane . So This is the challenge ! suspension tuning with your input and your componantry mate i;m only looking for 1.02 misrebale seconds is it possible ???
