  1. one of my mates has a 33, full exhaust HKS pod and thats about it, goes prety hard he has got up to 620k's from a tank but if your buying a turbocharged performance car fuel consumption is something you can not really expect to be brilliant
  2. I agree 10000% this hole is about what i would expect to have for 1 pot not 6
  3. the ones that came on all skylines are BB garrett turbos so i guess 100,000 k's+ depends on maintaniance. 10,000 k's is a drop in the ocean man if it is brand new and has failed claim it on warranty dude. if you are going to pull your manifold off do hthe head studs too, they have a habbit of being made from cheese apparantly!
  4. i would tend to stick to the exhaust manifold gasket leaking but that would not be leaking once the engine is turned off, you may find instead of the air escaping the system it might be a vacume leak try getting some very soapy water and wetting all the tube connections around about where the noise is coming from if air is escaping there will be bubbles if it is a vucume leak you will hear and see the water being sucked in. i had a VL turbo that was making the noise you describe and it turned out it was head gasket related but it only did it on boost, and again not after the car was off. Another good way to find these noises is with a bit of tube that fits in your ear, (dont cram it in) and move the other end around where flanges and pipe connections are and it will work like a stethiscope. oh another thing a friend had a turbo deisel jakaroo and it was making this noise, it turned out there was a hole in the waste gate acctuator diaphram
  5. my car was not making the noise after it was turned off, does the noise sound like a pressure leak? similar to the noise you get when you blow a gum leaf between your hands? (bushman rubbish there, sorry!) is your car auto by any chance?
  6. mine was doing exactly the same thing, replaced manifold gasket with genuine nissan one $95 new exhaust studs and nuts, Fixed the problem i did the job myself it took a while (about 5 hours) because 4 studs broke and one bound up and needed to be drilled and tapped
  7. hope ya get this in time!!
  8. NO WAY!!!! when you take your foot of the gas it will slam your wate gate shut hard as hell!!! it might even damage the diaphram in the acctuator because of the massive change from positive pressure to vac..
  9. what i did was got a radiator out of an automatic commodore (they have an oil cooler in them) ripped the oil cooler out and cut the nipple of that the trans oil pipes connect to then drilled a hole in the metlal pipe that goes to the plenum and inserted the nipple in the hole from the inside of the pipe and sealed it with automotive silicone and put the nut (that held the cooler in the radiator) on the outside using a bit more silicone and bob is your uncle wastgate acctuator feed Oh and dude if you are taking your manifold off to change the turbo go and get new maifold studs and nuts, a new gasket, i know nissan stock them in S.A. and some easy outs coz at least 1 will snap for sure,i did mine and 4 snapped and one had already fallen out!
  10. Wll what i have going on on my car is massive amounts of wheel wobble and if you grab the top of your wheel and push it side to side when the car is parked on flat ground you can feel a clunk if the bearing is loose or buggered, i called CBC $140 a side if you change them yourself, it's not too trickey to do, you need to use the correct grease tho
  11. Hi All. I have a weird problem with an RB20DET in a 1990 R32 Skyline. When the car is left idoling for more than about 2-3 minutes wen i take off again once it reaches about 3 PSI the engine cuts out and the car jerks around. If i just coast along, turn the engine off then re start the car it goes ok. There is another problem first thing in the morning when the car is cold and i drive out my street even with only a tiny fraction of the accelerator pushed down the turbo goes nuts (loud and about 8 psi boost) and the car accelerrates normally if i ease off the throttle (to almost nothing) i can keep the boost down tho. if i drive the car without leeting it go in to boost it takes about 10 inutes but it kind of goes into another mode then works really well is smooth and quick. i have a hunch it is an o2 sensor issue or airflow meter??? what do you guys and gals think?
  12. Hey fella the switch might be to switch from 4WD to 2WD, that module might control the 4WD system toggle the switch then see what happens with a bit of a launch. anyone know what the one is next to it?

  15. Item:Nardi Classic leather steering wheel Age:Unknown Condition:Exellent Price:Swap To Fit:Skyline R32 (What car) Location:Adelaide Contact:0433536205 Comments: I just bought a 32 and it has a Nardi Classic steering wheel wich i want to swap for a standard R32 steering whhel in good condition (not falling apart!). The reason for this is the Ploice in S.A. are hot on 32's and i cant be bothered with a defect because of something stupid like a steering wheel.I guess a 33 steering wheel would be ok too (if they fit) if it did not have an airbag. Drop me a line if your interested.
