  2. more pics. found a new spot. apologies to the couple in the calais with the foggy windows a few car spots down
  3. insurance is pretty fair in every state except for Sydney....its just as well our property prices rose by 30 something percent though
  4. yup, 2 point immobiliser, she was on 60% NCB from NRMA, has to be garaged after 11pm, excess was like $500 ummm...stuff like that
  5. a girlfriend of mine got insurance for her extremely modified R33 GTSt in Sydney through a company called Australia Insurance Brokers ph. 07 3397 5511. $2800. under 25, but has restrictions...
  6. yes! he lost his brakes heading towards parrammatta rd! hehe..
  7. i believe its a HKS unit.
  8. was it FLYBYU, or FLUBYU? my cousin owns FLUBYU
  9. hehe, what does pushing the brakes a few times do? is that like pressing CTL-ALT-DEL on the keyboard??? if i disconnect the battery for all of tonite, will this reset the ecu? can it do any other harm? this is how i used to reset the WRX...
  10. i think ice180 meant you drove like miss daisy around town. your performance on the strip is irrelevant to the way you drive around town - or is it? your amazing fuel consumption, i think, is from a combination of SAFC (and obviously who tuned it), the fact you do mostly hwy driving and somewhat more cleaner fuels... i still want to know what a/f ratio your running and who tuned it!!!
  11. Jay95R33: canberra city driving is nothing like sydney city driving...!!! how do i reset the ecu on an R34 GTT?
  12. i suppose i should call them, but have any of you got Hills to do a SAFC install and tune?
  13. incredible. can FORS legally take the car to the crushers if there is no import approval? thats pretty harsh! wouldn't it be nicer if they just sent it back???
  14. from what i can gather from all the feedback, a stock skyline will average about 330-350km city driving and 410-450km highway driving... skyzerr33: who tuned your SAFC? what a/f ratio are you running now? was it 10.5:1 stock? can you tune half throttle or less with the SAFC? some of you SAFC guys have some really good results and im really keen to hear how you did it.... with both the SAFC and PowerFC, can you adjust a/f ratio's when the ECU is in "closed loop" mode or less than half throttle? from my understanding the PowerFC is just a factory ECU that is tunable and when in closed loop mode is not tunable. Is this correct?
  15. i also have a feeling that Shell Optimax lasts longer than Mobil Synergy 8000......"drives your dollar further" so they say???
  16. if you need help in the registering department in NSW, i can help you out. i've been through it once...took me a whole morning and then half a day. yup. need to do things twice...
  17. heh, even when the car gets here its only half way there! i hope you have your "patience" hat on
  18. for those guys who have installed safc's and have returned improved fuel efficiency's, who did your tuning? any tips on what and how to tune your safc? what ratio did you tune to? what AFR do skylines (R34 GTT if you know) run stock? 10.5:1 ? by leaning out mixtures, how did you find your performance? any noticeable increase or decrease? i'd also like to hear from those ppl who have installed safc's and returned no or worse improvement? fyi, with cat back exhaust & air filter the GTT averages about 330-350km city driving. add a trip to wollongong and it'll do 410-430km with a couple of spirited hits... city driving and a old pacific hwy run and it did just over 300km's! thats woeful... cheers,
  19. you'll see all show and no go when i have 200+ at the wheels!
  20. fair call lagwagon, but i'm just waiting for my R34 GTR have you ever driven either car? i have, and own 1 of them. it comes down to personal preference, financial situation and risk - being a skyline fan is far from the matter at hand... sure the diehard driving fan would opt for the R32 GTR, but the question wasn't solely focused on what was the best driver's car... that said, i believe the question was posed on SDU and im quite sure it wasn't as one sided as you may have suggested.
  21. like these two 400HP ????
  22. Firstly, i'd like to see you get a good example R34GTT for 35k...??? Personally, the reasons why I chose an R34GTT over an R32GTR were as follows: * R34 looks and feels fresher - the R32 is getting a little out dated * R34 has more passenger room than an R32 * R32 is a more expensive car to maintain - costs of repairs would be extremely expensive * a 7 to 10yr old R32 would be more prone to break than a 4 yr old R34 - something to consider if you like track work like me perhaps? * R34's are extremely responsive, i consider the R to be quite laggy Some of things i felt i had to forgo not getting an R32 GTR: * extremely high HP potential * is it the ultimate driving machine? * street credability? in essence, i think the most motivating factor for me purchasing the R34 was the age of the car and finance. i would say, however, an R34 without a kit looks rather plain compared to a stock R32 GTR...! i have not looked back on my decision to buy an R34GTT over the R32GTR, or perhaps spend a little more and get an R33 GTR. I'm far more happier with the fresh look and feel of the R34 and will be plenty happy with the performance of it once i add a few bolt on mods such as front mount, inlet plenum and ecu. cheers, hope this helps....in any case with either car you can't go too wrong franks
  23. initial d, which model nikon have you got? do you have a tripod? its fairly simple, low ISO and long exposure. set it up on a tripod, set the countdown on so as you dont bump the camera when you press the button and see how u go... one benefit of digital camera's is that you can experiment with larger iso values and shorter exposure times etc etc...
  24. yeah? i love the wheels, just wait till you see the lip on it! wait till next week, i promise.
  25. thx all ... heres some more pics:
