  1. Correct, RWC is all you need. I just moved from NSW to QLD a month ago,.. and just got my RWC yesterday, cost $60.
  2. Shannon's, and Just Car are probably your only options. I doubt being 23, owning a GTR for under a year, and wanting to pay by the month is going to get you anywhere with any other insurer. I say you get a personal loan, so you don't have to resort to paying by the month, which you stated Just Car would not do unless you have been with them for 12 months,... so if you are able to qualify for a loan, this should solve the problem, and maybe even give you extra funds to put into the engine bay...
  3. More than reasonable outcome,...3yrs is a long time to spend in "gaol" (not jail! , were not in the U.S. people). Incarceration rarely leads to rehabilitation,... but don't worry, he'll end up being someone's "slave" on the inside.
  4. Hey, if it wasn't for Supra's, everyone and everyone's friend would be driving a Nissan....., now how boring would that be? Diversity is a good thing,... so if some people love their Supra's, good on 'em...., just helps Skyline owners stand out.
  5. Not bad looking,... but it's not a Skyline, nor a GTR. I feel the same way when I see a G35,... nice car no doubt, has done well in the U.S.,.. but seeing the imported Nissan versions with the Skyline badge,... well you know, it ain't a "pure-bred" Skyline. But hey, at least the sketches don't include the classic "stoveplate" tail lights.
  6. Great shots! Looks like they could be straight out of a Nissan advertising brochure. Beautiful background in the first pic, I'd love to have my car up against that, ...I'd be framing it on the wall for sure.
  7. Thought I'd put some pics of mine up. Only difference now, is I've swapped the indicators for the clear Nismo items, and removed the licence plate cover for a much cleaner look.

That would be cool. Hi all, I relocated from Sydney to the Gold Coast just over a month ago. Still adjusting, ...... don't know anyone, don't know the larger area, got nowhere to go,.... it's quite different from the Western suburbs of Sydney. I've never lived so close to so many beaches, I was used to driving for an hour to get to the nearest beach. I drive a white R34 GT-T, currently with NSW plates until the end of this week (KHM-33R) , and then I have to put up with those "fugly" oversized QLD plates until my slimline's arrive.
  9. That style IMO is more suited to a "drift pig 180/S13" which you thrash around sideways, definately not a Skyline in an urban environment,.. however, you are from Tasmania, so with all that natural wilderness, could be an exception.
  10. That sucks. Maybe post in the "wanted to buy" forum, or try a place that deals with front cuts, and wrecks. There must be plenty of front cuts which would all have the 2 side GT badges. Goodluck.
  11. Damn, I wouldn't want to be driving that in Thailand! Endless paranoia about "dings and scrapes" from moto's, cyclo's, tuk tuk's, elephants, and what have you. The money paid for the car could buy a mansion over there. Also, can you imagine trying to keep that beautiful white coat clean....
  12. Does this mean courts are now going to be flooded with car enthusiasts, right alongside drug dealers, rapists and the likes ?? Soon they'll probably start throwing car enthusiasts in cells, and we'll all have convictions under our name stating; " unenclosed pod". As exnizmech stated, a move like this would inevitably back up the courts, with magistrates wasting valuable time listening to cases about questionable mods. I just moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast 4 weeks ago, and I'm still anticipating my first run in with the local constabulary..... Although I am hoping that the QLD officers are more "friendlier" than their counterparts from South-West Sydney.
  13. Everytime I see a topic of this nature, my heart sinks. It's one of those, "It'll never happen to me" kind of thing's which you hope never does. Fingers crossed you get some good news soon. Yeah, having insurance is a blessing, however it doesn't lessen the blow of losing your pride and joy. Best of luck.
  14. ajrichar; That's a sweet collection also. I see the 1:43 R34 GTR Nur, & R34 GTR N1 of yours, nice!.... I still need those 2. I haven't heard of the Autoart Nur-spec till you mentioned it! Trying to find a pic but haven't spotted 1 yet. I thought the R34 BBS version I have was expensive (just to have a set of BBS rims, and a caption stating 1,000 pieces), I wonder how much the Nur goes for ?? I actually built this collection prior to owning my R34,... so naturally die-cast's are on hold for the time being, whilst the funds go towards performance goodies.
  15. Here's a couple of cheapie's (also have the 1:24 scale version's)
  16. LOL.... Thanks for the tip. R33's 1:43 R34's 1:43 R32 1:43 R30 & R31 1:43 JGTC Nismo R30, R33 & R34's 1:43 D1GP Memorial 1:43 R32's, R33's, & R34's 1:64
  17. I would go for the Toyota Chaser Tourer V (JZX-100) Great performance sedan, very clean looking, and inconspicuous to those not in the know in regards to the less common imports. I personally think it would be highly enjoyable lining up next to a few falcon's/commodore's. I've seen a couple on the roads (not many though), with subtle exterior mods, and they look very neat, whilst not screaming for attention.... ,although driving past one with a 3inch exhaust, and an FMIC neatly hidden behind the front bar definatly got my attention. The VR-4's are definately great cars, with the Legnum being a stationwagon version rather than a sedan like that of the Galant, so depends on what exactly your Dad is looking for. IMO, the Chaser is a definate winner.
  18. I have a collection of quality die-cast models, such as Autoart, Ebbro, and Kyosho. I've spent roughly $4,000 on them, collecting every model in every variation and colour. I've only taken basic pics of them right now, however I may take close-ups of the more limited models later on if anyone wants to see. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y298/infamous101/
  19. And Fairfield is definitely one of them.
  20. Yes, it does have a detachable face. Thanks for the reply, will check the contact points, if not I'll just invest in a quality unit.
  21. Hi All, I have a Sanyo FXD-RS50 which came with the car, nothing too flash, however satisfactory for my needs at this point in time. The problem I am currently experiencing as of late, is that the display screen fails to illuminate much of the time. It may occassionally light up it's usual blue, however 20 mins later it will go out. It has become an annoyance to be unable to read the display screen at night, yet even more of a nuisance is that it may occassionally flicker on/off, and catching a blue flash of light out of the corner of one's eye can be quite off-putting. When it has come on for a period of time, I have switched the headunit off, or cut the ignition, in order to see if it will illuminate on start-up, sometimes yes, sometimes no, mostly no.... and if it does, the next day upon startup it usually does not light up. I have checked the wires at the back of the unit, in order to see if they are secure, yet this is where my experience with such things ends. I'm interested in finding out whether this is a fault with the headunit itself, wires, or otherwise,.... if this can be rectified, or if I should invest in a higher end headunit. Any assistance is much appreciated, thankyou for your time.
