  1. Gonna need a few jobs the way mines going! Not very well... lol.
  2. I got done about a month ago now... Up through Henley Beach Road at about 8pm.. heading to the beach with the missus actually. Undercover was sitting on top of the bridge near South Road/Henley Beach. I wasnt in a hurry, I looked in my mirror saw someone turn in behind me.. Next thing I know they are right up my ass, pull across to the right of me, get next to my door.. Slam on the brakes and pull in behind again.. Wonder what the 4 cars behind me were thinking. Anywho, basically said to me that reason pulled you over was for suspension.. not suprised, put it back in for AJP never took it out. Only the front though.. Continued to ask me questions about did I know anything about cars... blah blah blah, he even said to me that the fact it was so low caused the brakes not to work.. hell the brakes are twenty times better then my dads VT Commodore.. which I laughed. After telling me to pop the bonnet, just taken the rocker cover off the coils, and a tiny bit of oil in there, fire hazard.. But did me for the oil on the gearbox instead. Walked over to the left hand side, kicked my front bar in the process of power trip and continued to wrestle with my non secure battery which I never got the chance to put the brace on as I lost 2 brackets for it a while back. Didnt apologise, I told him thanks for that. Got done for b.o.v as well, had it blocked off... Spent 15 mins in the car waiting for them to fill out the paperwork, came back to me with a $203 fine for breach ADR suspension rules.. then basically threw me the paper and walked back towards his car while telling me to be on my way. Yes cops do there job, but I'm a member of the public, I should at least get some sort of respect for some eye contact, really shit me off... Lucky enough, I went to Regency a while ago.. cost me 3 grand to get it to pass. After being lied to by the previous owner. -_- Just dont have the time to do any of it... my parents are getting a house built at the moment too, so I'm obligated to help them out with that too. Should be a simple sus out, exhaust off excercise.. got some electrical that needs doing (again) useless electricians..
  3. Haha thats insane!
  4. Was speaking to a bloke about a week ago.. just bought himself a Porsche Boxter. His wife has a particular number plate that I never seen before on her Mazda 3, said he collects them for all his cars... One for the Porsche he wants was $20,000 or $40,000. Cant remember, but anyway... ridiculous for a number plate!
  5. Ever since the day I snagged a bit of concrete in a car park its never sat the same... I'm pretty sure it went through like that last time, my main concern was the lack of support under the cooler. Like you said, a brace would most likely be the go. Cheers mate.
  6. Me likes a lot! I got used to taking photos of the good side of my car.. lol
  7. I have a similar problem with my window switch.. works for everything else.. but the drivers window seems to only want to go down with the auto thing I think, and back up with the normal switch.. never really looked into it lol. Plenty of other things to worry about.
  8. Just a quick question... Not to long ago I decided to chop up the front bar on the Ceffy. Thought it might of been the reason it wasnt sitting nice, was hitting the cooler..But didnt help... Anywho, this is what it looks like now! Will regency have a whinge about it? Or do I have to go buy a $100 stock front bar for one day? Hope its easy to see.. Thanks Adam.
  9. A lot has to do with the height of the car.. My mate bought his 180sx almost 2 years ago now, suspension hasnt changed.. handles nicely like it should. Obviously the stock sus would be stiffer in that then the Ceffy.. Anyway, even with boost guage on the a pillar, aftermarket wheel, all that eye glueing stuff.. he hasnt had a single defect. I would leave the suspension stock in the Ceffy, but its just not hard enough.. After all this, I wish I bought something more sportier. But, whatevers my loss, someone elses gain when I sell it.
  10. Well I was holding out til the missus gets her car, so I can drive it til she gets her license. Save up and get myself another car.. Funny that you cant get away with making sure an import runs fine.. but go buy a shitbox to run around in which causes more problems, safety, pollution etc. and youll get away just fine. My Volvo I had, never got pulled over in it... while it still was a Volvo, was over 24 years old. First time I got pulled over was when I drove past 2 cops on bikes who had pulled a Commodore over, while I wasn't speeding it was the stiffness of the springs that caught there attention.. Anyway, cut a long story short, he didn't know what it was... looked through his book for suspension specs and couldn't find it listed in there. Got lucky that day lol...
  11. Well, after trying to stop the rumbling of my gearbox which I thought was the thrust bearing, didnt work obviously. I have decided to just get it rebuilt or replaced. Crunches 3rd on high rev shifts, and reverse doesnt go in as nice as it once did. The worst is the grinding when downshifting, louder then the exhaust. Its hung in there for a while, and with me being defected I thought now is the opportunity to finally get it sorted with. Ive looked around the net for a while now, and just cant seem to find a straight answer anywhere! Basically, I believe the engine in my Cefiro is from a 32 skyline. Everything tells me its a turbo and manual conversion. So I just want to know, how much is a price for a recon gearbox from somewhere? Ive seen 2 now and they are completely different prices. :S And what is this price actually including in the rebuild? Or would it be better to rebuild the one I currently have now? Thanks for your time. Adam.
  12. Was a reason I bought it, so it wouldnt stand out as much to something else I wanted.. lol. But 3 months it took from bought to defect.. 5 months to get it passed through regency. After going twice, 9 months now I think it is since getting it back then, so guess it had a good run. That was with stock sus up front and coilovers in the rear. Changed the fronts for AJP, so been goin since then, drive everyday... Luckily enough there isnt a lot that I have to change, I use it as a daily so its just complicated matters a lot. Was a defect station last time I got done... but it just took me by surprise. Thought who the hell is this joker right behind me. Then the all to favourable colours of red and blue. lol. Apart from the "lowness" of the car not making the brakes work, I'd say they had done quite a few other peoples cars. Knew exactly what to look for... Pisses me off the way I got treated though, last time two of the chaps were talking about it... "ah yeah people seem to pay a lot of money for them". lol... Was smiling for a short while that time....
  13. Feeling pretty depressed at the moment. Gonna be hard to see my girl, she not gonna like that.
  14. Certainly picked the wrong cops to get pulled over by last night... Wasnt doing anything wrong.. Driving down Sir Donald Bradman Drive I think it was. Anyway... Got done for suspension at the front.. oil leak, battery not secure and the stock blow off valve which I played around with a while ago... Told me the front being so low causes the brakes not to work... laughed it off. Fire hazard where the coilpacks are from a small amount of oil, started to get a bit lippy after that. Which is a first. One of them kicks my front bar as he checks the battery out, told him thanks for that. He didnt care.. -_- Nothing dangerous about driving straight up my ass, swerving to the right of me. Braking as hard as he could after seeing the front of my car to the shock of the people behind me. *shakes head* Went through regency once about 9 months ago now I think it was, so shouldnt be a major drama.. just asking if anyone has parts I can borrow for a short time.. Suspension, stock front bar, exhaust maybe, got some electrical work that needs doing, headlights etc.. Got a $203 expiation fee on top of it. lol.. Told me he wouldnt ruin my night completely saying he could do me for more to a total of $600. lol... So anyway, if anyone has the parts that would be appreciated.. will give something in return for borrowing. Or buy if people are selling... Thanks. Adam. P.S. Not having a go at SAPOL, just expressing my story.
  15. Complete stock suspension? Regency worthy! Got defected earlier tonight.
  16. Also.. my car had a manual tailshaft to begin with but the unijoint was buggered.. (woo regency!) So I managed to find a 32 skyline tailshaft, not sure if it was a 4 or 2 door, pretty sure it was 2, unbolt it and switch it with the one already on the car. Worked a charm...
  17. Wish I knew the answer to that question too..
  18. Out of all the windows to go it had to be the drivers door.. dont ya just hate that lol.. When I bought my car I wondered why my rear left passenger window wouldnt go down, further inspection I found a piece of wood just holding the glass up.. so made sense. Anyway, got one from a 32 skyline, got it real cheap too cos the place was closing down so they had a sale on everything. 40 bucks I think it was.. instead of 150 bucks I think. So maybe driver door works too? Just throwing it out there.
  19. I got lucky with mine... bought one that was in brilliant condition and just cleaned it up to an extreme Ill never forget.. Pity its all covered in leaves, and dirt now. Such a pain to get out once its in the car... Took me a few hours, well.. too long to be honest lol.. But definetly worth it in the end. Maybe this picture will give an idea of what it should look like...
  20. Awesome. Not bothered about the dimmer.. After the lights went out I had a look at it (the dimmer switch) and well, I couldnt get the damn thing back in properly.. Never thought about checking to see if there is power going to it, just moved it back and forwards incase it was on low setting but did nothing. Cheers Luke.. Appreciate that heaps.
  21. I always thought it was for that one aswell.. I have a similar problem with my headlights, turn them on, and only one works. Try high beams, none work.. Turn it on auto.. they both work and high beams do to.. Not really a huge problem, but the sensor on the dash gets a little carried away sometimes with turning my lights off while driving down the road cos of a street light. lol.
  22. Yeah they are not working... I was completely lost when I pulled it apart lol. Might try get some courage to have another look soon. Cheers man, appreaciate the help.
  23. Been putting up with it for quite some time now, but a few months ago (yes I know) the illumination on my dash decided to play up. Didnt just go out straight away. A few times of, flicker off and on. Then it never worked again.. I took the cluster out, had a look at the wiring and everything seems to be ok. Im not the most observant person in the world so I might of missed something. Anyway, I put it back together again after lookin at it and had the most confused look on my face. So I left it... But its really driving me mad now... everything works ok. Just at night its a little hard to see, well its black basically... Had a few problems with the brightness control under the steering wheel on the right. Maybe it has something to do with it.. Had a play with that, but no luck. All the air con controls are illuminated, and just the clock on the dash, but thats it. Honestly dont know what else to check. Appreciate the help. Thanks Adam.
  24. Know how that feels, I get the most annoying whistle through the exact same spot, know its at the top somewhere, but never actually looked into it. Wouldnt know where to start, or where to fix it really. Whole door looks to be different from the rest of the car. Guess whoever had it before me, never put it back on properly.
