  1. I was driving my car this morning and when I pulled up at the lights it suddenly cut out, after watching the rev's whilst the car was idle I noticed they dropped down to a little over 500 rpm (before they sat at around 1100 rpm). I read this post http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/No...amp;hl=low+idle and will take a look this afternoon after work to see if that fixes the problem. Would anyone have any other idea's of what this could be and if it is something I fix myself, baring in mind I am not a mechanic but I am mechanically & technically minded. Could a faulty fuel pump or old ignition coils be doing this? (when I bought the car it was pretty much stock and I have a feeling that most parts are original)
  2. Nice quality pictures, lovely car. but yeah the "chick" looks like a bloke a bit.
  3. Depends if I am driving in the city constantly shifting I'll get around 380 other wise I get around 450
  4. I'm no mechanic but I have had a similar issue which ended up been a blocked heater core. I have been told that if there aren't any visual leaks to check the radiator and see if it is loosing coolant. If you aren't loosing coolant and there aren't any visual leaks you may have an internal leak somewhere or a blockage, get a mechanic to take a look you may have a blocked heater core or radiator.
  5. I like to listen to metal, punk, grunge.. then the misses hops in and well that's a different story...
  6. Nah I have opted to go for a new genuine Nissan viscous coupling I figure I have no idea what the cooling differences are so using a standard setup should do fine. :laughing-smiley-014: Some were getting a little edgy Thanks for all your replays
  7. Looks like I've opened the can of worms now, here I was thinking this post was pretty much closed .
  8. Actually after scanning the internet most of the posts I saw were related to FWD's nothing really mentioned about performance cars
  9. Yeah I pretty much based my decision on the fact that I haven't heard of or seen a vehicle that has a thermo so I have no idea how and at what temperature they run at and also before my coupling crapped itself my car was running at a good temperature, so I figure a brand new one would be better.
  10. Thanks for the reply's guys, I have also done a little research and found that most recommend to use the standard clutch fan plus the cost involved to covert seems to be pretty high, it does seem to be a fairly debatable topic. I don't know anyone who has put a thermo fan in any type of vehicle so I'm kinda I guess you'd say running blind on the topic and I don't want to pay all that money to get on installed and find out it makes my car run hot. I have decided and ordered a new coupling so when it arrives I'll get that put in, not sure if this is a good price but it's going to cost me (part only [new]) $475, personally I don't really care about the cost involved at the moment I just want the damn thing fixed.
  11. The other day my viscous couplings baring went, so it started making a lovely loud weering noise I sourced a second hand one and got it installed, drove out of the shop and a day later my car started over heating. The coupling was so doggy that I could literally stop the fan with my hand. So what i am wondering is what do you guys recommend, is it better for me to get another coupling or put an electric cooling fan in? how does an electric cooling fan compare to the original clutch fan? If it makes any difference my car is an R33 GTST with a RB25DET engine.
  12. Some general advice when you find one you like do a revs check and pay for an NRMA inspection, even better if you have a friend/family member who is a mechanic take them along.
  13. They should have had these laws around when I was on my P's, some of the units on the road that are my age need to go back and learn the road rules.
  14. No problem WYTSKY I have gotten my answers, thanks guys you have cleared up alot for me.
  15. So as for application wise there isn't really any difference you could use either type? and even with a turbo upgrade you can keep the standard and it will do the job fine?
  16. I have a very basic knowledge of how atmospheric & plumb back BOV's work, but what I am wondering is how do you go about choosing one that is best suited for your style of driving. i.e. normal street driving, drag, or drift. Is there one type that is best suited for a specific purpose? or is it mearly "that looks good, I like that one" Also would the type of BOV depend on the turbo and the amount of horse power it produces?
  17. Thanks guys for your input that clariflys everything for me, one other thing joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo you say not too big I seen many that say they are made for R33's so I guess these are an appropriate size then yeah?.
  18. Same here I am going stage by stage, so i figure once I have finished replacing things like belts, water pump, thermostat etc i'll worry about additions like an intercooler. Thats another thing I probabley dont need to do things like replace the thermostat but I am for the simple fact I will know its new and works perfectly.
  19. I have an R33 GTST but I figure this question would relate to any model, I am wondering what the effects would be (good/bad/if any) from putting an aftermarket intercooler in whilst leaving the stock turbo installed. I understand that there is no real need, this just came up in conversation the other day and I'd like someone to clarify it for me. Thanks,
  20. I knew a guy how kept a flood light facing back but he only used it when someone driving behind him was using their high beams.
  21. It does work well but I'm to afraid that the tool behind who is tailgating will run into me, I'd just ease on the brakes so they know that 1) you are slowing down and 2) they are pissing you off and should back off.

To get any class of firearm licence you have to be a member of a club, take a safety course, have ligetimate reasons for holding the licence and propper seperate storage area's for the firearm and the ammunition. Oh yeah you will get a background check done along with any referees that you supply which I cant remember but I'm pretty sure it was 2 people that have known you for longer than 18 months, if you still keen your best bet is to get a JP and hopefully you dont have any major convictions.
  23. I just slow right down that seems to give them the hint to back off, if not they will just over take you.
  24. Just thought i'd update you all, everything all good I ended up using eucalyptus oil and it worked perfectly remove the adhesive without damaging the paint. Thanks for all you replys
