  1. You can't exactly tune a car with the stock ecu. Usally when people get their cars tuned they have an air fuel controller or an stand-alone aftermarket ecu such as the apexi power fc. Dyno tunes are to extract every last horse or watt out of you engine. Your average Joe isn't going to need a dyno tune. A dyno isn't needed to diagnosis problems.
  2. The e-manage is similar to the Apexi S-AFC and S-AFCII. Personally I think the S-AFCII is better than the e-manage, maybe just because I own one. It has a higher resolution than the e-manage.
  3. I take it that it's a good idea to unplug the battery. Where is the fuel pump located? I heard in the trunk.
  4. Stock pump is on its way out and it's for future mods.
  5. Ok I'm going to replace my stock fuel pump with a gtr one. I was wondering how hard it would be to install myself and how to go about doing it?
  6. The grinding is now gone. It took about two days.
  7. Thanks Dreg. I think I'll put redline in it too cause I've never heard anything bad about it.
  8. I just got a twin plate nismo clutch installed in my R32 GTS-t about two days ago. It is a totally different feeling, but I'm still in the process of breaking it in so I can't have too much fun. Recently when shifting from 1st to 2nd quickly it almost feels like it's grinding, no sound just doesn't feel smooth. It's the same thing when shifting fast from 2nd to 3rd, but not as bad. I know they changed the transmission fluid with the clutch. Any ideas?
  9. No a GTR turbo would be a bad pick, actually a down grade. GTRs use two turbos to produce boost so therefore they are smaller than say one GTSt turbo.
  10. Yes please search before you ask a question. I can't really say anything because I'm guilty of it too.
  11. and just what computer would you recommend? I think I can keep it for awhile, besides I'd have to ship it all the way from Japan.
  12. Ok got a few questions. I plan on making lots and lots of mods to my R32 GTSt over the next few months to a year, but I'm trying to decide what order I should get them in and it's getting confusing. I was gonna get a fuel pump and injectors, but then I'd have to get it retuned afterwards then retuned again after I get a new turbo, then retuned after getting cams blah blah. I was thinking of getting a aftermarket turbo and keeping the boost low until I get inj, pump, and a engine rebuild. I'm chasing the 500hp mark so I know I'm gonna need aftermarket internals. What turbo should I be looking at? Look at what mods I have now and tell me what I should go with first.
  13. When I do buy the pump how can I tell for sure it's off a gtr?
  14. Damn that must suck for guys. Here in Japan everyone runs straight pipes and gauges all over the place. Some of the cars are crazy loud, it hits you in the chest when they drive by. Nobody has ever gotten in trouble as far as I know, for anything. Also can tires be too big there? I saw a gtr with big nitto 275s sticking way out.
  15. I just recommended the rb20 because it seemed that you were on a budget. If you are going to do the same amount of upgrades regardless of what engine you buy then go for the rb25. You'll get more power down low and not as much turbo lag.
  16. I was planning on putting a R32 GTR fuel pump in my GTSt. After I do this will it run really rich and I'd have to do tuning all over again?
  17. Anybody else know anything about that?
  18. Personally I like rb20s better than rb25s, but maybe that's just because I own a rb20? Do you plan on modifying the engine after you put it in? If you used the money you saved on buying a rb20 and put it into mods it'd probably be putting out more than the rb25. I think the rb25 makes 25 more hp than the rb20 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). 25hp on a rb20 is real easy to come by.
  19. If you do up the boost on your car, it's a R32 GTSt right? I wouldn't go above .8bar with the stock cooler and turbo.
  20. Which means changing the pistons or head gasket or both?
  21. Don't you have to lower the compression ratio also?
  22. Manual or electronic boost controller, bleed valves. http://www.apexi-usa.com/electronics_savcr.asp
  23. Well get back to me when you do find out the weak points.
  24. I had the same problem. The fix to mine was a new computer.
