  1. When you say you are lucky to get up to 70 it sounds like it's running much colder most of the time.
  2. Yes engines can run too cold. You're fuel consumption will be worse and you'll have a loss of power because your car will be running richer. You shouldn't have any engine damage unless the oil temps are down also.
  3. 0.68 A/R will spool better, 0.87 A/R will have more peak power. HKS makes a GT-RS kit for the rb20/25 http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/turbo/.../ac_rb2025.html
  4. I know that it'll easily fit into a R32 GTS-t. I'm not for sure about the R33. If it isn't a direct drop in I'm sure it wouldn't take that much work.
  5. Yes you still need a AFM with the power fc, unless it's the D-Jetro version. Does the car run okay besides the idle?
  6. GTR fuel pumps are a great upgrade for 180s or Silvias.
  7. Wow two MAFs, one for the engine the other for the BOV, I have trouble trying to keep one MAF from malfunctioning. There are already plenty of ways to correct stalling with a atmo BOV.
  8. Wow you guys really get into it! Personally I don't run a BOV, check out my sig. Most tuners in Japan advise against them. I have alot of friends running fairly big "drift" turbos without BOVs for 4+ years without any problems. I figure I won't even have the same turbo a year for now because I'm constantly changing parts.
  9. damn I just looked over the entire avc-r manual, nothing
  10. maybe you could check the apexi website? or download the manual, i'm sure it'd be in there. http://www.apexi-usa.com/productdocumentat...s_savcr_ins.pdf

  12. Alright before I go buying this new car I was wondering if you guys have any tips. Like what to check for to make sure the car is healthy. Thanks
  13. Wow do you think you could be a little bit more specfic? Are you sure you are a mechanic? HKS produces turbos that make anywhere from 300hp to well over a 1000hp. So if you are going for the T51R, which I doubt, you'll need bigger injectors and a whole lot more. As for the injectors go, it isn't a matter of them fitting, it's the impedance of the injectors that matters (i think). I'm not very familar with GTRs and the amount of hp they can support so someone with more knowledge will have to respond. So how about giving us some more info on that turbocharger or chargers you are planing to get.
  14. Correction the car is a sil80. S-13 front
  15. Yes it's staying in Japan. The inspections are every two years for a car 10 years old or less and every year for car older than 10 yrs. I think that's right. If you know a mechanic you can get the car passed no matter what it has on it, straight pipe or whatever for about $600US.
  16. Hello all I just thought I'd tell you about the car I'm going to get. It's a 1993 180sx with a black top sr20det. List of mods: Bigger Radiator Nismo super single and flywheel 550cc fuel injectors 300zx brakes S15 turbo (good for around 300hp?) APEXi Power FC (dyno tuned) APEXi AVC-R 2way LSD FMIC HKS suspension Cams 250 degrees in and out I believe All for $4800US. How does this compare to the prices down there?
  17. Somebody has to know something. C'mon now don't hold back!
  18. The HKS standalone is more popular here than the PFC I think, never heard of motec before.
  19. I just went to a HKS sponsered drag race a few weeks ago. Guess how many GTRs has a emanage? 0 I'm not dissing the emanage I just hardly ever see them. This is what I don't understand though. The emanage can only change the a/f ratio for 5 different RPMS, the S-AFC2 can change it for like 11 or 12 RPM levels.
  20. I live in Japan and I see alot more cars with Apexi S-AFCs and PFCs. I've only seen a handful of greddy emanages in cars. By they way some of the GTRs with the Apexi S-AFC are putting out over 600hp. I only see PFCs when the power is approaching 1000hp. That's just what I've noticed.
  21. I can get a greddy profec a for cheap. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these boost controllers? Good or bad?
  22. Of course it's vacuum at idle. To know how much boost you car is putting out you have to look at your gauge when you floor it and keep it there. Don't worry about what your turbo is doing at idle, cause this doesn't tell you anything, just when you're at wot. It sounds like the mechanic already set it up so just flip it over to the high boost setting, watch your gauge, and make sure it doesn't go over 1bar or 15psi.
