Hey everyone, Decided to sell my skyline after having 2 little accidents (minor damage to front) in 3 days and buy something more practical so i have the following up for sale as im better off returning the car to stock and selling it cheap with with kit and wheels only than complete as it is. Total Package if everything is taken $7,800. My car made 353.8HP at 1.4BAR on a hub dyno at the wheels with some pretty major boost leaks im sure it will hit over 400HP if it was retuned again. Any questions feel free to PM me, im happy for inspections all items are still on the car, pics can be supplied upon request (ill try to post ASAP). Only thing u will need to upgrade is your fuel pump I couldnt be bothered pulling that out. i noticed the thermo fan straight away, car was less rough and went to redline heaps quicker. And it was the same dyno. Checked the compression before the run and changed coils was between 148 and 151 across all cylinders and dont think i had any vac leaks.

Hey, Just had a quick retune on my car, last time it made 353.8HP, this time it made like 320HP however i have upgraded a few things, new coils, fixed a blown out turbo to manifold gasket and installed a thermo fan. The car now feels faster however its less power than before? now when he showed me with air temp correction on it showed 449HP which is closer to what i would believe it to make based on everyone else that has the same mods? im running 1.45BAR and hits full boost around 3800RMP this time it was about 10 - 15 degrees hotter than last time though however. It was done on a dynapac hub dyno. Also are peoples cars normally dyno'd on a power run with air temp correction on or off? also does the shootout mode make a big difference? I have PFC with Boost Control kit HKS 3037 Pro S 0.68 rear 740CC injectors Splitfire coils Full exhuast. Bla Bla Bla who cares right? and a fully stock motor. Thanks for your help guys.

hahha, had this happen to me 2 weeks ago. nice ay? bet u were giving it a bit too . I had to go all new, $440 radiator, $100 for thermo fan $60 for craig davies thermo switch and like $70 for water pump.

Really? Well there goes the warrenty haha! im just going to go get my stock one honed and stuff if this one cracks again, ive already had it welded up which was the pic i posted up a bit.
-
huh? i dont have any adapter plates? turbos bolted straight to manifold.. i can def see ur point though.. thats why i made them custom make the bracket to go around the blitz pipe to hold it to the factory location. I was worried about the exhaust getting smashed and it doing damage.
-
actuallly i had to take the dump off to change the turbo to manifold gasket... (the studs pulled out on most of the dump pipe bolts) and no there was no weight on it, i simply got under the car.. slid the stud in and did it up once i had pulled the turbo off far enough to change the bolt. also when i initially fitted this i needed to cut down a stud as it was hitting the collector ..
-
Thanks .. i just took it to an exhaust shop.. didnt really care what the weld looked like, just wanted it fixed.
-
the crack was not from it being hung incorrectally.. Its the HKS full bolt in kit which comes with everything including the dump pipe. It then goes into a Blitz 3" front pipe and into a highflow cat all mounted with brackets to the factory locations, Attached is a pic. Once again, i would have prefered to have spent the extra money to begin with and bought the HPI one.
-
Mine useda knock at around 100, now wont go past 12.. think something was rattling around in the engine bay.. as it also wasnt knocking on the dyno.
-
Hi, Manifolds cracked (easy to get too whilst on the car just wondering who i would take it too to get it fixed on the gold coast? thanks guys
-
Bought the 2nd one in the pic, now has about a 6cm long crack.. has done less than 3000KMS.. complete waste of money being sold on ebay by some dude, seriously would not touch this with a 10 foot pole again. Mate has same mods turbo/computer/injectors etc and makes like 10KW more on 95 octane not 98. So yeh, tommorow ill get the crack TIG welded up.. and ill be taking my stock manifold to be honed etc. Have a HKS GT3037 Pro S.. i dont even think the surface of the flange mated with the turbo correctally as when i pulled it off the Gasket came apart in 2 peices and was melted out through the bottom. I like the HPI ones that just jap sell.. they even give a 12 month warrenty. I contacted the seller and was advised that no warrenty is given on ebay purchases... (figures).

Just ran into this problem tonight. :S its def different!

I've had the same issues deciding over coils .. i went the Splitfires.. + everything else in my engine bay was blue haaha.. apart from my Nismo 740cc injectors ..

Im actually using the Apexi Power FC Boost Control Kit and i actually do have a boost vs HP graph Settings are 1.3Bar Boost 67 for duty i think and then it had another number i couldnt change 200? but then i taped the duty up and down and it changed to 255? I gapped my plugs down to 0.6mm and thats got rid of a fair bit of the missfire issue but its still doing it, ive already purchased today over ebay a new set of Splitfires $635. The only thing i think may be dodgy is the manifold to turbo gasket i used a thick one not the thin metal one would it be worth changing it? its going to be a massiveeee pain in the ass job to do, but i want my car running right. Also my brakes are pissing me off as they keep squeeling, ive replaced the rotors, have TRW pads i think they are, have had the calipers overhauled but it seems to just want to keep glazing the pads! and to make things even better i think ive blown the ground track in the Pioneer DVD player and now im gettin engine noise through my stereo ..
-
It was a full HKS Bolt on kit came with everything including the 10PSI actuator. The graph doesnt go to 7000RPM as they didnt wanna take a stock motor that far with the issues i was having. The issues i was having was the car idling like CRAP, it missing all through the rev range and high knock levels on different situations and what seemed to be ignition breakdown. And i agree about the boost comming on 500RPM too late, im looking at a printout off another car with a 3037 and it hits 17PSI at 3750RPM what would cause this? Fuel pressure isnt an issue as its at 45PSI and I have 740cc Nismo Injectors mabee i have a manifold to turbo leak?
-
Problems getting worse and worse... it was missing up in the higer rev range on the dyno on the run, previous runs it had more power and didnt have that flatspot between 5000 and 5750RPM , now i cant take it over 4000RPM... Im guessing the coils are dead the timing was increased a few degree's further on that retune too. Ive done the silicon trick which didnt do a thing and plugs are gapped at 0.8. .. Couldnt see any cracks or anything, they had previously been wrapped in electrical tape when i was first having issues years ago with the 1.1mm gap. I can get a set of SuperSparks or whatever there called from Autobarn tommorow for $499 or something or splitfires off ebay for around $635 what does everyone think?
-
Yeh the car seemed to be missing up high in the rev range.. could this be the coils breaking down?
-
HKS GT3037 Pro S with a 0.68 Rear.
-
Theres also a Black Crysler 300C on the Gold Coast big chrome wheels and tinted windows.. Ive seen it having pulled over a couple of cars now.
-
Hmm i had this issue, went through everything coils, plugs, vac leaks.. it ended up being carbon buildup inside the head which was causing the valves not to seat correctally. Had it run a a Carbon Clean machine and my tuners workshop and it fixed the issue. now got a nice idle and no miss. By the way i believe this to have been caused by me running the PowerFC Basemap for so long and it running rich as. Ive got no idea where you could find someone with one of these.. there aparantally rare as! Ive included a pic its the funny red thing connected into my fuel system:
-
Had my car back on the Dyno today due to some issues I was having and thought id post the graph. It was done on a DynaPac Hub Dyno.. Its interesting looking at other peoples results the difference in curves from a roller to hub dyno.

Hi, my friend has a RX7 Series 8 and the FD forum he is a part of has a chat window that everyone can talk to each other in? would it be possible to look into how difficult it would be to have that on our forum? anyway just an idea!
-
Just checked ebay.. They got really rare again.. ... I bought one brand new from Autobarn about 9 months ago.. mabee ask them? they were sourcing them from Access Autoworks.

Hi, Need either a set of splitfires for a series one or one or 2 standard coils for a R33! Gold Coast area's where im at! would be great to find someone around here as car is going on the dyno again on tuesday.
