  1. Dammit I thought it was the throb of the knob. No wonder I've been getting it wrong.

Steve: no probs. I have a fair amount of hoarder's rubbish that I'll list up as freebies, just need to get the motivation to list it all.

  2. doubt it- the extra ~11mm of stroke would cancel out the extra rod length. and the piston speed would be slower on an RB26 at the same revs anyway

And the rod ~31mm longer. That's more than an inch. Tell me that an extra inch isn't all that handy?

It's all about the angles. . The extra crank throw is halved, so it's not the full amount of the extra stroke (11.23) But you do get the full rod length difference (30.9). And if you needed to spin the 30 to the same revs you'll be flowing alot more. Stroke:rod is a bit better at 1.79 on the 30, 1.64 on the 26.

Haha and at the end of the day the angle works out to be a bit more than 1 degree.

But isn't all this rubbish in the RB30 thread?

ps I think the rods are more expensive on the 30 as they are more popular, and he isn't moving any of the 26 stock at all. Liquidation time!

  3. I've got a few sets, if you want for free it's yours. Prepped stock rods are good for over 400rwkw, they are as beefy as a 26 rod and with the additional length there's less side loading.

  4. Should be finished by the end of the year, as for performance expectations check the video link and see the comments I made about it in previous post. It's going to be alot of work dialing everything in, but the potential is there.

I could run the car without turbo (basically a larger capacity group A touring car motor) for around 800hp, and actually might do that on shakedown passes to get a feel for the car. But have another R33 for circuit.

  5. The body of the compressor wheel (behind the nut) is 32mm, surely that rule can be constructively interpreted? Actually there are going to be alot of problems running this combination in this Skyline chassis, trying to address them all before running it but there aren't too many cars in Aus running a similar combination. Have redone nearly everything several times, one of the reasons why it has taken so long to get to this stage - and it needs to go back for more chassis work after I get it running.

    Yes it's a V8, similar to the 5L motor found in many a Ford ute/grocery getter/garbage truck.

  6. The fine upstanding folk down in SAU VIC decided I needed to get one, many thanks to Roy for pushing me into it. The car is just something held together by zip ties and race tape... just some odds and ends I had sitting around in the garage slapped together. I'm really after the Dalek look, Dr. Who is making a comeback some day.

  7. Hi guys,

Selling the complete stock turbo system off an R33 GTR. Car had ~75,000k's on the clock when the gear was pulled off, turbos are fine with no damage. Car was completely stock at the time with stock ECU and boost. Parts are:

    Manifolds

    Dump pipes

    "Twin turbo" pipe

    Pipes to and from intercooler

    BOVs and alloy pipe

    Turbos and some intake piping

    Asking $500 for the lot

Also have some used aftermarket manifolds and dump pipes, were bought from SubZero when they operated in QLD. $350 for the set. Suit stock low mount setup.

And have an RB26 intake manifold with a single throttle conversion kit. Has spacers to eliminate stock throttle bodies and weld-on flange to suit Q45 throttle body. Flange has not been welded on to manifold since should be positioned in car to determine exact location. $400

    In Sydney.
