  1. yeh thanx for the pics mine exactly the same but has a clear top i gave up on this thread cause i didnt whant to pull my car apart to photo the bottom half of the box. is that one fully inclosed? also where abouts in the blue montians are you?
  2. I'm planning on getting the 324mm upgrade for my front end. Kit has dogbone adapters so I reuse my standard 4 pots on the bigger disks! can you let me know how much and where to get this kit sounds like what im after
  3. just the way a skyline should be straight clean & dam sexy congrats not many p platers keep them lookin like that sounds like your a bit smarter than the avverage p plate pilot though "well done" ps take photos of it low then set it back to road hight you will save on tyres and speed hump damage . even though it looks tough on the deck.

  6. thanx it was even better that when i bought it the salesman stuffed up the paper work and put the wrong price on the contract i had spent all day talking him down to 21'990 from 25,990 when i noticed hed made a typo on the contract i pretty much snatched it out of his hands and signed it before he could relise i wont tell you the exact price but i paid under 17k three years ago the manager of the car yard wasnt real happy tried to tell me they couldnt let it go for that price but i stuck by my guns and just repeated "mate we have a signed contract i dont think you have a choice". drove it home that arvo. best day of my automotive life

  8. thanx heaps for the info the compliance date on my rego says 02/97 but on the sale recipt it says 01/97 so i dont Know what the deal is with that. so goin buy the vin its a 12/97? also im 100% sure this is a type m-r when i bought it it was dead stock had 46000 on it plenty of my mates are pannel beaters and mehcanics as em i and evryone aggrees all parts are factory fitted. i have seen one other type m-r in queensland but it was auto

  10. yes from what i can see externaly it is a little differnt from a series two gtst the cam angle sensor seems to be a bit bigger it has no ignitor at the rear of the head not sure if thats normal or not ..... yes it has lsd and strut braces. i was told this was the first one built and was delivered from factory as is. its a 01/97 so that may be true like i said earlier i was also told my car was made for some auto show so it may be the demo for what was to come id love to find out where and when but it was over ten years ago now. the vin is : ECR33-134358 the model # is :GGKBTFR33VDAAAYCM and if some one can point me in the direction of the paint code i will post it as well "my jap aint so good lol" thanx for all the info so far ps mines manual i dont belive in autos anless your at the strip every week.
  11. i also recall reading some were the type m-r was a speacal release for some auto show to show of the midnight paint witch i think is actualy a 34 gtr colour and im pretty sure it has a neo head iv driven plenty of gtst's and its definatley got some mild tuning wether its in the head or cams or ecu im not sure id love to find out

  15. hey buddy im not sure if they are the same but ive got a set of coils off a r33 series two i would want about $50 bucks each for them.............. paintball and skylines a combination that cant be beat how is action goin these days. i work at fireball paintball used to play heaps of tournees at action i will probly be ther on the weekend you probly no my little brother SHITLOCKS im pretty sure he said this weekend anyway i can bring them with me

Hi all i was just checkin out the rare skyline thread and it got me to thinking i wonder how rare mine is this is what ive been able to find out about it. it was a limited model made at the end of the series 2 late 97 early 98 it was a 40th aniversary gtst with a gtr body kit was only avalible in midnight purple mine was fitted with rays wheels an option "the 400r rims gt2 or whatever there called" it has 56000klm on the clock two owners one in japan and me and is one of the cleanest r33s ive seen any way take a look at the pics and tell us what you think. if you own one similar or no someone who does id love to see it

  18. a pod in an inclosed air box with good cold air supply performs better than the standard filter .. as most skylines in australia are sold with a pod filter already fitted most people dont realise that even a standard airbox gives better power than a pod sucking hot air ...... at least this is what ive found on my car. like ive said i made a custom air box that fitts a pod filter fully inclosed with cold air pickup i still have the moulds so i can make more if any ones intrested
  19. yeh thanks i posted that last night at bout 11:30 iwas obviosly tired .... i will make it simple. 1 do you guys no how much power your loosing running a pod filter with no air box. 2 do you know of any companys making air boxs or cold air kits for r33s. 3 would anyone be interested in a cold air box that fitts a pod.

HI ALL RECENTLY I FITTED A K&N FILTER TO MY R33 AS I LIVE IN THE BLUE MONTAINS (NICE COLD AIR) IT MADE A SLIGHT DIFERANCE UNTIL THE CAR WARMED UP THEN IT WAS BOUT THE SAME AS THE STOCK FILTER THEN I TOOK IT TO THE CITY AND I COULDNT BELIVE THE AMONT OF POWER IT LOST I FITTED THE FACTORY AIR BOX BACK IN AND BACK TO NORMAL THE PROBLEM WAS THE 100 DEGREE TURBO PLUMBING BEING RIGHT UNDER THE AIR FILTER I BOUGHT A CLEAR PLASTIC AIR BOX OFF EBAY BUT HAVING NO BOTTOM IT ONLY MADE THINGS WORSE SO IN THE END I MADE MY OWN AIR BOX WITCH FITS THE K&N POD INSIDE AND HAS A BOTTOM TO SEPERATE THE INTERCOOLER PIPING FROM THE AIR FILTER ITS MADE SO MUCH DIFFERANCE JUST WONDERING IF EVERY ONE ELSE FOUND THIS TO BE A PROBLEM AND IS THERE ANY COLD AIR OR AIR BOX KITS FOR THE R33 IVE ONLY SEEN THE TVR ONES WITCH ARE ALSO SUCKING STRAIGHT UNDER BONETT AIR .... REASON I ASK IS I STILL HAVE MOULDS SO IF ANYONE WANTS ONE I CAN MAKE MORE
  22. hey buddy as everyone said it could be a number of things the first thing to do is figger out what type of a miss it is it can only be fuel ignition or mechanical and may be isolated to one cylinder or spead over all..... firstly if you can compession test each cylinder if all good its not mechanical eg: head gasket or burnt valve next see if the miss is isolated to any cylinders by briefly disconecting the injector plugs one at a time if you disconect a injector plug and the idle dosn't drop thats your dead cylinder if the miss is located to one or two cylinders its more likly to be a ignition miss plugs coils ignitor ect if the miss is spread accross all cylinders then its more likly to be a fuel problem so start by checking pressure flow and fuel condision if all this meets specs then it may be a sensor usualy the air flow or coolant temp have this effect sounds to me like a fuel poblem like water in fuel take your fuel filter off keeping your finger over the bottom fitting so it stays full of fuel then empty it into a clear glass and blow throw the filter in the reverse direction of fuel flow into the glass if theres any water rust or dirt its no good i hope this helps its only a rough gide but once you figger what type of a miss it is you will have a much easyer time finding the cause CHEERS
  23. JUST WONDERIN IF ANYONE HAS STANDARD CAM SPECS FOR RB25DE RB25DET & RB26DETT AT A QUICK GLANCE THE RB26 CAMS LOOK AS IF THEY WILL BOLT INTO A RB25 HEAD HAS ANYONE DONE THIS WHILE RETAINING V.C.T AND WHATS THE POWER GAIN ROUGHLY

AS A MECHANIC IVE FITTED MANY EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL WASTE GATES MAYBE 2 OUT OF EVERY TEN OF THEM HAVE BEEN PRESET FROM THE FACTORY BUT YOU ALWAYS CHECK THEM BEFORE FITTING EVEN IF THEY ARE EASY TO REACH AND ADJUST IN CAR ITS AS SIMPLE AS AND TAKES TWO MINUTES THE LAST WASTE GATE I FITTED WAS FOR A CUSTOMER WHEN I GOT IT OUT OF THE BOX I NOTICED THE BOOST PRESURE LINE WAS FITTED TO THE WRONG SIDE OF THE DIAPHRAM BASICLY MEANING THE MORE BOOST THE HARDER THE WASTE GATE HELD CLOSED "IMAGINE IF I BOLTED IT TO THE CAR AS IS" IM NOT SAYING YOUR MECHANICS SHIT AS I DONT KNOW HIM BUT HE REALY SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THE OPENING PRESSURE BEFORE FITTING ..DEEP DOWN I THINK YOUR MEHCANIC KNOWS THIS BUT AS IS OFFTEN THE CASE IN THE MOTOR TRADE ITS EASYER TO BLAME OTHERS THAN ADDMITING TO YOUR OWN MISTAKES "REALISING YOUR MISTAKES IS THE FIRST STEP TO LEARNING FROM THEM"
