  2. eeeerm... I believe they're OIL CANS
  3. Yes, all the above exist in Japan... can be had for very reasonable prices too.
  4. Too far away for me...
  5. If you were gonna get it done professionally, it'd cost eleventy billion dollars...
  6. Take the sideskirts off to check for rust and damage to the chassis/lower body (where the black paint starts) if the car has been picked up by a forklift. Check the area around where the rear bumper meets the rear guards too... lots of rust there usually, but can be overlooked by a quick inspection. Sometimes you can only see the extent of it when the bumper is off. I think most 15 year old cars in Japan are dodgy... thats just my opinion. I say that because even so called enthusiasts in Japan lose respect for *old* cars that cost them more to run/remain registered that their monthly rent bill.
  7. Let us know... I'm really interested to see how things turn out. I hope it turns out that I was wrong!
  8. Dave: Only another Japan resident could sum up the days events like you did... spot on! I don't think the cooler did much in the way of performance, maybe just make the intake charge slightly cooler than the stock intercooler, but as Cerealkiller says, the power comes when the boost is up... which mine isn't... yet! Afaik, the boost rises a little with a large cooler like the Blitz LM. Cerealkiller: I have to go out of my way to get the crossmember cut, so thats at the bottom of things to do right now, I think just moving the number plate over to the passenger side will do for now (stock boost).
  9. ocean: Take it from me... I've seen *many* of these cars up close in Japan, in fact I just had a look at one last week here in Nishinomiya. Your car, being located out in the country, is gonna have rust. On top of the obvious mechanical and cosmetic problems. I must admit, when I saw the pics, I thought "oh no... you didn't did you?". I bet the driver/owner of that car raced it regularly, then had a minor accident, then realized that the repair cost is goona approach the total amount he paid for the car (400 - 500,000 yen). ocean, I know how you must feel, I bought a rough R32 with plans to do it up... but even with my car (better condition) it's still a money waster bar none. Good luck.
  10. Some pics from yesterday... DIY! Who needs a garage??? Troy, thanks HEAPS for coming around yesterday and helping/buying extras, I really appreciate it. ... oh, and we were neck and neck last night, but I had a passenger and you didn't... hehehe Blitz LM 'cooler:
  11. Ganowhores? You don't like them?
  12. Whose running aero mirrors here? I know I know, alot of you guys love your electric stock mirrors, but how many of you are running sleek, small and sporty aero mirrors? Godfather?? Post pics!
  13. And fffffwhen was the last time you took the train??? Try 10mins on the kaisoku (high-sped/express) to Nishinomiya.
  14. Anyone? I'm not an RX-7 owner... but I guess Yahoo auctions Japan would def have a set. Aren't there any RX-7 wreckers near your place?

  18. I must admit, I have a soft spot for the FD too...
  19. You know, thats pretty wierd... I used to have problems in an old place I used to live in, yet now I'm living in another old place (built early '70s) and I haven't had any electrical overload problems  The 20A thing used to give me the sh*ts whenever I used the microvawe, but now (as Troy can attest) I'm running ALL my appliances - air con, TV, DVD, PC, Microwave, coffee machine etc - at once, and nothing happens! It's how it should be really... I don't understand, has my place got a higher ampage breaker or something???
  20. Bought not built. It's still sweet though.

    Hands up who...

...who was in high school when the all conquering R32 GT-Rs were slaugtering the Australian (and Japanese) Group A competition in '91/'92? Did it have a lasting effect as what it did for me? I see alot of Japan residents are in their late 20's... (27 - 29)... did you guys all get interested in Skylines from back in the Group A days? Well, since the mid-1980's, I'd ALWAYS supported the underdog in Group A, and back then it was definately the SA22 RX-7 and the R30/31 Skylines (George Fury?) up against the "giant" V8 Commodores/Camaros/Falcons. So when the R32 GT-R entered the category, I first of all felt that 4WD would never work!!! But right from the first round the GT-R just killed everything in it's path. The Cosworth Sierras were also a favourite, but the GT-R ate them too... I was scarred for life! I guess that was probably the first time ('91) that I ever considered going to Japan... plus the fact that one of my high school friends was half Japanese. After Group A finished, I never really looked at Australian Touring Car racing again, but preffered Rally/JTCC right up until I came to Japan in mid-2000. What got you interested in Skylines or what brought you to Japan?

I've been to Koyasan before Troy, about 4 years ago... stayed at a Ryokan for 2 days... total relaxation. But I never went to that bridge, it looks cool. Actually Troy I just took delivery of my Blitz LM intercooler, how 'bout we install that sucker on Sunday instead??? :headbang: DIY mate!!!

Bllleeeeaagh! TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!! Whats with the whistle anyway? You'd think the singing was bad enough?
  24. And heres me thinking you were gonna ask about Japanese ladies "sleeping habits"... hehehe. I'm western style double queen size all the way... I used to sleep on a futon for the first 2 years I was here though, I didn't like it at all... no good for "certain" "positions" right guv, seen?
