  1. That does sound a little off... It sounds like the car was pretty modified at one stage, but in oder to get it past "shaken" (Japanese vehicle inspection rip-off), the owner had to remove all the parts that were gonna defect the vehicle. Hence the WTF GT-R rear guards and high fuel consumption. Theres no real way to tell EXACTLY what happened, but this mixed-up car looks like: It had a powerful turbo motor at one stage, which was sold sperately. It had a serious wheel and tyre combo, explaining the rear guards. It was probably used for street racing/some "yanki's" (car freak) weekend thrasher. It was probably for sale here for a long time, but no sale, so the owner sold off all the good parts, then flogged the car. As for the fuel consumption, thats a mystery. I would think that, if there was a powerful turbo'd motor in there and he sold it, he would've sold the computer too... but I really don't know. Get it to a Skyline specialist?
  2. I love how the engine is almost entirely behind front struts. Almost like an S2000... I'm gonna do it.
  3. Your right... I fully retract that comment, no offence predator666. I jumped the gun there! Thanks for bringing it to my attention Shell! /Rezz

Woah, woah, guys!!! I'm getting requests flung at me at a furious rate. Please people, could you PM or e-mail me your request, and I'll take it from there. If you post requests on the thread, there's a good chance that I'll miss it. Thanks.
  7. Listen you lot, stick your heads under a '89 and a '92 Type M and see for yourselves... I didn't say the stabilizers add 40kgs... you did. I pointed out the difference in weight between the two. And there is a difference, if you'd be so kind as to weigh them for us. If you guys are scratching your heads so much as to why there is a weight descrepancy, THINK ABOUT THE SIDE-INTRUSION BARS IN THE '92 MODEL... THINK ABOUT THE STANDARD AIR-CON IN THE '92 MODEL... Think about all the miriad little things that go into making an 80's car compliant in the 90's... I'm not gonna sit here and divulge all those little things so you lot can just shrug it off and say "he could be talking out his arse". And another thing, they call 'em stabilizers here, so thats what I meant. I didn't mean "swaybar". I wanna hotlink Car Sensors Type M page here to prove the stabilizer thing but I can't, it's all protected. Besides it's in Japanese...
  8. Is it white smoke? Isn't that condensation within the exhaust?
  9. As far as my records show, the '89 GT-R (as you call it - the specification didn't change from 08/89 to 02/93 actually), and the '93-'94 GT-R (not V-Spec/V-Spec II) only differ in that the '93-'94's had an air-bag as an option, along with the White and Greyish Blue Metallic colour option for the '93, and '94, except the '94 dropped the Greyish Blue. Now, your just talking about the plain-old;) GT-R aren't you? Not the V-Specs right? As for the GTS-T Type M: The 05/89 - 07/91's offered just the basic colour line up from the Skyline range, your reds, your blues, your silvers, your blacks (most popular) your dark greens, and your whites. It weighed 1260kg MT, 1280kg AT. Sunroof's were an option, as was air-con, so it's a mixed bag on what you'll get. Now, the big one: THE '89 - '91 Type M CAME WITH FRONT AND REAR STABILIZERS AS STANDARD. The 08/91 - 10/92, and the 11/92 - 07/93 Type M don't differ too greatly except for some stupid colour differences that I cant be bothered pointing out, but the main things are: these cars are heavier than the '89, 1320kg MT and 1340kg AT, and that these cars didn't have front and rear stabilizers as standard. So, to answer your question, No, there aren't any big differences between the model years, except for the '89 - '91 Type M with the stabilizers (thats why I got an '89 over a '90). But, obviously the GT-R's and the V-Specs are different, as is the GTS-T to the Type M.
  10. About the Arcade game... Do you guys get a little credit card sized card, that you have to insert in the machine everytime you play, and it keep track of all the mods for the car you get when you win races? So that the next time you play, you can start where you left off?
  11. Yeah... I get a bit carried away sometimes... forget the exchange rate bizzo.
  12. S**t dude, how does C-West, Signal auto, J's Racing and Trial sound?
  13. The off-set is +40 Front and Rear. /Rezz
  14. Lets hook up! I'll be there man, no matter what. That invitation is to anybody from this forum who's coming to Kansai. Drop me a PM and we'll see what happens...
  15. I wonder if those rumours stem from the US branch of Apex? My wife called the Osaka Head Office of Apex and they assured (in Japan at least) us that doing business with them, or any one of they're re-sellers would be sound. To answer your question though, the regional offices (US and Korea) will close before anything happens in Japan. But thats unlikely. For now.... Your all right though, the economy here is worrying to say the least, but the best part about it all is that maybe, juuuuust maybe, the Aussie dollar will hit 80yen to the dollar, then we can all have Weds Sport SA-90 rims on our cars... Btw, the name is registered here as "Apex" (pronounced A-pe-ku-su) with no "i". I know the "i" is meant to mean "integration", but thats US only.
  16. Was that this years Messe, or last (or one before that)? Mate, I saw a couple of Aussies (I can tell a countryman in a crowd of Japs no problem! ) there, I wonder if it was you? Anyways, I love the conversion too, ESPECIALLY after Nismo retired the RB26 in the '02 JGTC in favour of the VG30DETT, for better weight distribution amongst other things...
  17. That was a joke fatz, I didn't think you were gonna answer it...
  18. I don't know about a "Nismo" GTS-R limited build, but there was an Autech version released in '88 in small numbers. I've only seen 1 on the road in 3 1/2 years in Japan. There was a Nismo GTS released about the same time ('86-'87), but there are quite a few GTS's "posing" as Nismo's, to the point where people get pissed with you if you ask 'em if it's genuine... The build plate I don't know. I'll check it out, but if your looking for a HSV style "Build 23 of 800" plate... mmm, maybe not. Anybody else got a genuine GTS-R?
  19. Yeah, that flat-mounted-in-the-engine bay intercooler setup is a definate goer... theres actually a flat-mount intercooler for 180SX's with extemely short pipes to and from the turbo/intake manifold which I'm looking to export to Oz. FAT32> I'm in Osaka/Kobe. Who did you speak to?

    Gull Door

I know this thread is a done deal already, but only just yesterday I went to the SuperAutobacs Car Show in Kobe. They had a VERY modified EG9 Civic, with Lamborghini-style swing-up doors, and S2000 headlights... insane. When the pics are done I'll put 'em up if your interested.
  21. Neither the 2 or 4-door R33 have a split-fold rear seat... Snow/Surfboarders in Japan usually go for wagons or vans.

Before I go any further, I can match that price ($290 for the Apex RSM - sent anywhere in Oz) but I won't beat it. My aim is NOT to start a price war with the established vendors in Perth, but to offer unique parts and accessories, that the owner can appreciate as being something that he/she won't encounter on another car every time they open the bonnet... or open their door. Hasemi Sport: Run the GT300 Fairlady Z in the JGTC. Silvia/Skyline suspension parts, and aero parts (very nice stuff for the R33). Kazama: manifolds, dump pipes, exhausts, suspension parts, clothing, goods for the 180SX/Silvia/Skyline/Mark II/Chaser. Ikeya Formula: Sequen Shift for the 180SX/Silvia/Skyline and RX-7/Integra/Civic later... and other parts and goods. MOH: Inhouse brand of aero mirrors. Pan Speed: Suspension parts, aero, manifolds, exhausts for RX-7's

Thats not a bad price... give us a moment to sort something out, like I say, it's still early days. Btw, my intention isn't to go head-to-head with the HKS/Apex/Trust crowd. I'm focusing on the lesser known brands like: Hasemi Sport Kazama Ikeya Formula MOH Pan Speed etc...

Alright lads, tell me a price in Perth for a paticular part/item, and I'll do my utmost to beat it... where possible/ it's not friggin stupid to do so. (edit - ) You heard it here first... coz Skylines are my one and only (well, along with the wife!!!) love since Bathurst '91, and more than anything I want to promote Australian/Japanese motorsport culture, information, and Knowhow. I know about the competition present in Perth, thanks Rob77 for bringing that up, but just remember guy's I'm not just in this for the financial benefit, but more to make my wife realize how much a good place Australia is, through the support of the Perth and Interstate Japanese import massive. I've got some VERY good contacts in Japan and in Oz, so this is gearing up to be something special, if you guy's can support!
