  7. Head info (cut n paste) from some correspondance The head has had alot of work. We were extremmely careful to do the right things and not go over board with drag style porting which flows well at high rpm but is a slug off and onto boost because of low rpm port velocity. The aim was to find the perfect balance between high port velocity and outright power. The result is a very broad powerband which gives maximun "average" power which is much faster on the track, better on fuel, and better to drive civilly. This is achieved by porting the bowl area and short turn of the runner only. Port size is std which ensures max port velocity and hence combustion efficiency at low and mid rpm. It may have 5kw-10kw less at max rpm but it has 100kw in my case more at 3000rpm. The motor still revved to 9500rpm with no drop off. The trend also follows with the other mods. The oversize valves compliment the ported bowl area. New valve guides and valve stem seals have been installed. Any sharp edges in the combustion area have been smoothed to resist detonation. The JUN 264 cams again were chosen along the same thought, giving good idle(very small lump) good response and also good outright power. The lift of the JUN cams (9.5mm) and medium pressure tomei type b springs also give less stress and hence less power loss and wear on the valve train over the more common 272 10.2. Valve clearances were set to NISSPEED specs..which I found makes it quieter than the std head. The rear head drain is a must for the track. To much oil in the head and not much in the sump is bad news...not mentioning the catch can filling up all the time.
