  1. I would go nitto over eagle, spool, etc but howards over nitto. All comes down to target HP and dollar value. I have had an unrelated failure with howards rods installed @850hp and very happy with there integrity.
  2. Howards is so confident in these rods that they offer a one year unconditional warranty against rod breakage (PPF6000 & PPF6000-L19). These have already become their number one selling rods!
  3. Correct for those that mentioned it. all Garrett turbo's now have the splitter cast into the turbine housing.
  4. If the engine is balanced correctly you shouldn't have a problem. Remember, crank, rods, pistons, harmonic balancer, clutch and flywheel all need to be done Incorrectly adjusted timing belt, power steering and a/c belts don't help either. Hitting the rev limited is also a sure fire way to break 32 pumps. I feel the problem was not the balancer but most likely installation. Matt
  5. Surely there are plenty going>??
  6. Wanting a Rb30 Crank to pickup in adelaide. Matt 0413023669
  7. Are they Unique Autosports ported? I prefer the ported OEM manifolds over the stainless tomei and HKS style as you know. They will give better response and longevity. The 6boost are better again, will make the same power at less boost and less heat...also changed my top end considerably(extra 1100rpm of torque b4 drop off) But as you know they are a pain to fit. It wouldn't be a silly option to stick with what you have. Power wise you will have more than enough to go sub 1:15 without any issue's. It just comes down to how much boost you want to use to get there. GTRS's need minimal exhaust restriction to punch past 500kw, that's the key. Side pipes are the only way to go. Noise level may be an issue as I did get pulled up on Sat. Matt
  8. I'm looking at mounting mine in the drivers front quarter panel.
  9. Agreed. The crank has ball bearings, non OEM
  10. looks to most likely be from oil contamination. Crank is bent 45thou.. All in getting fixed now. Matt
  11. Yep, Howards =) I'll get it sorted. Had to come out to sort a couple of other issue's I wasn't happy with anyway. And how much is an Rb30 crank....$50. Just need to find some more NDC bearings...may favourite Matt
  12. interesting. All the other bearings do look ok. Piston on number four lightly tapped the head. Crank has a nice wobble now. I taked to James(Nisspeed) as he helped me build it. He seemed to think most likely detonation... but the oil pick was full of crap...can't tell if it was from my failed bearing or prior... Things I am considering: I was revving her to 9100rpm I did hit the limiter quite a few times Not likely oil starvation Detonation was not high but hard to tell between real kncoks on my PFC and rpm limiter setting the knock sensors off. Matt
  13. Are you going to run GTRS's with std manifolds?
  14. It will certainly be on the dyno when it's back together. I don't think I need any more power...can't imagine what it will go like on 1.8bar. May fit the bigger plenum I have here while its out. Matt
  15. Cranks looks average, not sure if a polish will bring it up. But my crank guy will have it A1
  16. I didn't get it on the dyno. However: 1bar was made at the same point, but may improve if it was retuned my 1000cc injectors maxed out at .35bar less boost so the car makes more power no question No losses anywhere. Idle is less stable however.... Matt
  17. Goes to the dipstick, gives an addition path for blowby gas under accel.
  18. I would say so, time for a high octane sump and accumulator in the front quarter panel. -Slicks-
  19. Motor out, number 4 had a spun bearing.
  20. Side pipes had brackets. No snapped studs. Heat wrap though
  21. 6boost are monitoring this thread. I didn't buy them direct. I was certainly monitoring the tune, had my wideband O2 hanging out the side pipe. I kept the boost down as I had no head room left. Plenty left in her with more fuel. I'm half expecting my damaged to be oil surge related to be honest.
