  1. Leaning more towards the 17" combo, mainly because I will get less sidewall flex than a 16" running 225/50/16 17" tyres aren't as dear as they used to be either I will wait until I get the new shocks and springs in before I make up my mind. My 17's need a bit of touching up though, they are well used and I don't like the colour anymore! If I could find some Buddy Club P1's, 17x8 and 17x9, I'd buy them in a flash!
  2. A good read this thread... Whats everyone's thoughts on igntion timing and AFR's? I had my cars tune touched up on friday and it feels like a dog now, but makes more power peak. It previously was tuned to around 11 to 1 AFR's midrange and around 11.5 up top, and my tuner leaned it off pretty much everywhere as he thought it was costing power. In doing this, he had to reduce timing (obviously) otherwise it was detonating So on the dyno, it seemed ok, it picked up about 10rwkw peak On the road, the car is a dog The lean AFR's in the midrange and decreased timing has knocked the punch that it used to have right out of it Before, it would light up 2nd no probs, and feel quite punchy, now it feels like it bogs down and doesn't even chirp the wheels It will be getting re-tuned, but how do others prefer there cars I know I would rather it a bit richer and more timing than lean with no timing!
  3. Cool, thanks I would say you are right about the thickness of the coils, as they are powder coated etc This is what I had on the car and will be replacing with the group buy kit. They are pretty firm on the road, hopefully the new suspension will be a bit more daily driver friendly. Not to mention, that its pretty hard to get grip on the rear with springs that firm, and with the ride hide down at 308mm!! How will the group buy spring rates compare (don't need exact rates, just would be nice to know what to expect, PM me if you don't want it to be public knowledge)
  4. Can you work this one out for me? Front Top outside: 81.25mm Bottom outside: 81.25 Thickness: 11.90 # turns: 6.5 Rear Top outside: 84.25mm Bottom Outside: 84.25 Thickness: 12.6 # turns: 8.5 Thanks, Chris

  8. *******************SOLD************************** Thanks for all the intrest, Chris
  9. Pics please! What colour are they?
  10. Yeah, your car did feel quite good, and had a reasonable amount of grip, even though it was pretty wet If I can sell my 16's, I will keep the 17's or even sell my 17's and get differant rims all together
  11. Don't want to seperate them really All PM's replied to, been some good intrest so far! Chris
  12. open to offers on price
  13. you should know, you have been in my car enough times. Will not fit R33 Still for sale
  14. 4 x 16x7.5" rims, with near new Toyo tyres on them - 225/50/16 Rims are in great condition, tyres have done about 1500kms fits R32/33 GTST, GTR etc Would make for a ideal set of drag rims or track rims if you want to use 16" comp tyres (much cheaper than 17") Or just a great set of rims for all round use Had them about 2 years After about $1300ish
  15. Yeah, I think all-round the 17's offer a good compromise I have had 255's on the rear, to be honest the grip was pretty shithouse, lots of flex while cornering, more to do with the tyres than anything. Plus, 235's on a 9" rim are a nice fit, less sidewall flex. I can then run 235's all round and swap them for better wear, might even go 225 or 215 on the front, I prefer a streched fittament for handlings sake. 255's are dearer too
  16. just on 200rwkw at the moment Straight line it gets good grip, 1st is okay, bit of wheelspin I would run 235/45/17 all round if I used the 17's, I have found with the lower profile, they have less straight line grip, but feel better around corners Cornering is my main concern, especially as I want to do a few track days soon
  17. Checked this on the way to work today, response was very quick Never checked it before though Economy seems to be a bit better too
  18. Thought I'd run this past everyone and get some feedback Here is my dilemma - ATM I am running Buddy Club 16x7.5" rims all round with 225/50/16 rubber. My suspension is currently mega low, 308mm from wheel centre to guard I have purchased the Bilstien R32 Group Buy suspension package Sydneykid organised, and will be setting the car up as follows - Currently it has - Solid rose jointed castor rods, running 7 degrees castor Whiteline front camber bushes, 1.5 degrees neg on the front HICAS lock kit Aluminium cradle bushes Rear camber is 1.1 degrees, I think there are offst bushes in the back Addind to this and replacing the jap coilovers I have now will be the Whiteline suspension I will be setting this up to have a ride height of approx 350mm, as per reccomendations Now I need to work out what rims to keep. Running the 16" Buddy Club P1's with 225's and rock hard suspension, the car feels okay, the extra flex in the tyres is equaled out by the rock hard suspension, so it gives the impression of good handling. I have had it on the track once with this combination, and it felt quite good I also have a set of 17x8 front and 17x9 rear Sparco rims in the shed I am trying to work out which will be better overall, as the new suspension will be allot softer than the current suspension, and I am worried the car is going to feel like crap with the sidewall flex of the 16's plus the softer suspension What do you guys reckon, keeping in mind the softer suspension on the way for it? The car is my daily driver, so it will be driven with road tyres all the time and see the odd track day Thanks, Chris
  19. Didn't check that as yet mate, will have a look tonight Economy has been quite poor for a while now, hope its a bit better now
  20. mmm more testing to be done on mine to confirm this Chris
  21. Yep, will frieght no probs, would be about $30-40 depending on how you want them sent
  22. What lag times are you running on your injectors? Mine where set at -0.14, setting them to zero reduced knock quite a bit
  23. Selling my coilovers They are made by english suspension guru's Quantum I am getting a set of Bilstiens from the group buy, so no need for these any more They are in ok condition, but need some repair Front left shock needs re-gassing, can be done for around $140 from www.shockreco.com.au Front right shock needs a new nut on the top of the strut, it snapped when I took it of the car - doh! Rear shocks where rebuilt last year Shocks are damper and fully height adjustable, spring rates are best suited to drift or circuit, they are very firm They have alloy tops, very trick suspension, extremely light weight, less than 1/2 each of original shocks New these retailed for over $4000 As they require attention, I am after $550ono for the whole lot due to them needing some attention
