  1. Steve - is this still going ahead? I'd love to come and watch if the guy from Signal is coming over to do some tuning Chris
  2. I will post my before and after dyno chart as well, stock turbo vs HKS turbo Will scan it tonight One thing to note, it has been running 200rwkw for almost 16 months and done 30,000km, and is still going strong - good old RB20's Chris
  3. Yeah, I would reccomend the turbo for a RB20, seem to be about right for all round performance etc. Will keep everyone posted on the outcome of the next round of mods Chris
  4. devious17 - tag was unable to be read. I got the turbo about 18months ago from JMS, and they said it was 2530, then I took it to see Mark at Tilbrooks, and everyone there said it was 2510. One thing they both agreed on was that it was a HKS GT25~ something aKTIVE - yeah, for a street RB20, they are a perfect choice, can't complain at all about mine, it is really good. I have run 1.2bar, with a heap of octane boost, and the response was amazing, 2nd gear with 255 rubber and it would just light up. Cant wait to get 1.2-1.3 bar with the new setup and see what it makes R32gts-t - Made 200rwkw with Bosch 040 pump, with stock injectors. My setup is pretty simple, HKS turbo, 600x300x60 FMIC with 2.5inch pipework all the way, 3" exhaust with only the rear N1 style muffler, re-mapped stock computer. Pretty simple really Next step is - GTR cams, Microtech LT-12S computer, 440cc injectors, Split dump with 3.5" front pipe. 1.2ish bar boost. Might go cam gears as well Can't wait I have attached a early dyno chart, the other two cars arre RB25, hence the greater mid-range power
  5. Well, car is booked in Saturday to get some FM901's put on the back. I will also swap rims with the front and see if they are good for steering and braking as well If they are next weekend I will buy two more Will keep everyone posted Also, interesting to note - this is my 7th tyre change in 3 years!!!!!
  6. I have what I believe is a HKS GT2510 (some reckon it is a 2530) Mine makes 200rwkw at 0.9bar boost, with intercooler exhaust etc. Makes boost by 2500rpm, 0.5bar at around 3000rpm and pulls hard all the way to rev limit if 8200rpm I will find out in a month or so what it is capable of, installing bigger injectors, GTR cams etc, hoping for around 230rwkw. Anyhthing more will be great One thing to look for is a turbo that will give you really good average power, rather than a big hit in the last 2000rpm, it might sacrifice a few rwkw up top, but your car will be quicker and more drivable Chris
  7. Didn't post prices, as my rims, 16x7.5 Buddy Club P1's are a bit oddball compared to what most people run, so tyre sizes/prices are a little differant compared to 17" So far, I can get Dunlop FM901's for $200, Dunlop 3000A for $188, Yokohama 306's for $168, Toyo TPG Trampio for $195, Toyo T1S for 245 These are for 225/50/16 Best places to try for price seems to be Wise Chioce Tyres at Lonsdale, Blackwood Tyrepower and City Discount Tyres at Modbury Chris
  8. I have heard those Falkens are a bit dodgy So anyone have anything bad to say about FM901's, as so far that looks like what I am going to get
  9. Seem pretty good I have been able to get a good deal on some Dunlop FM901's, I can get these for the same price as the Toyo's, and from what I have read about them they seem to be really good Anyone have have any recommendations on which one would be better? I have never had a set of Toyo's or Dunlops before Chris
  10. agreed I remember when two 21 year old brothers bought a $60,000 Ferrari, and it made the paper! Surely COPYME's story is worthy of a full length feature film Looks like a nice car
  11. cool, what sort of km's have you done on them? Whats the wear like? Are they very grippy in 1st and 2nd gear? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to be sure before I get a set Chris
  12. Ok no probs, will let you know Thanks to everyone for the PM's etc, cheers
  13. Anyone tried these? and if so what size's In need of some new rubber and these seem to be reasonably price for what they are Regards, Chris
  14. After reading everything I have to agree, big deal if the dude has a 34GTR at 21. I say well done, thats a awesome effort He was just trying to find some low-life who biffed his car!! Good to hear that the cops are doing there job, pity he had to ruin another persons day and crash into there car as well As for the other stuff COPYME has said about it running whatever quatermile times, if a owner wants to make claims on a forum and can't back them up - prepare to be roasted Seems like everyone has something to say, just thought I'd add my 2c as well Chris
  15. Got some, thanks for all who sent me PM's Regards, Chris
  16. Greenline has two in stock, on special - http://www.greenline.jp/specials.php that price is shipped as well, works out to about $1080 About as cheap as you will find one, most people who have had them for sale over here want $1600+ Hope this helps, Chris
  17. Anyone know how much a RB20DET motor weighs? Cheers, Chris
  18. give it a try mate, long weekend coming up and all should mean you can rack up some serious kms. Chances are it will help, and for the cost ( 'bout 20 bucks worth of oil, and maybe $80 in petrol depending on kms) its well worth the effort Also stay away from leeting it idle to warm up, turn the key and drive normally as soon as it starts, it might help the process a little quicker (no boost though until warmed up) Chris
  19. Chris32

    Prang :(

No probs, let me know either way btw, who are you with for insurance? Chris
  20. Its worth a shot mate. I had a friend at work, had a 20valve Toyota motor, that was rebuilt. The place that installed it filled it up with Mobil 1, fully synthetic from the start. It wouldn't make ANY power, just blue smoke!! Shows how good synthetic oil really is as a lubricant, as nothing bedded in at all After much bitching with the workshop without getting anywhere, his old man drained the oil, ad replaced it with some cheap mineral oil from Kmart, it was about 10bucks for 5litres. filled it up, new filter etc, and took it for a 4 hour drive, loading it up as much as possible e.g 5th gear up hills, high revs, downhills in low gear high revs etc. Next day, same thing, 4 hours of non stop driving, as much varying the revs as he could. It started to come good Two weeks later with the same oil in it, after about 2000km of driving, it was back to normal, and smiles all round I'd try it mate, serioulsy it should help. I'd get some cheap mineral oil, new filter and give it a shot. It it starts to come good, keep going with it until its better, and then maybe run some Nissan 7.5-30 semi-synth for a few changes Just seems to me that the bores/rings never had a chance to bed in, especially with the synthetic oil used to run it in. A big no-no My 2c anyhow...... Chris
  21. will have a think, as i only paid $650 for the pair of seats Will let you know, Regards, Chris
  22. I just want the fabric, as I have a set of 33R seats in my car, but the fabric is worn on the outside edges of the seat on the drivers side, other than that mine are in perfect condition
  23. any one have a old 32 passenger seat that I can cut up/destroy for parts need the inside rail and runner, it comes of in one piece. I had to butcher mine to fit a set off 33R seats that were missing that part, and I have someone that wants to buy my old seats, but I need a few bits to make them fit Cheers, Chris
  24. what is damaged on the seat?
