Brasso?? I had polished SSRs with the same problem on my sprinter. Got on the brasso or similar (it was a mild cutting compount of some description, name escapes me at the mo) and that got rid of 99% of the rust, then polished the rims up and it came up good as gold. Might be something to give a shot.

^ yeah race only you skip the compliance costs, but all the other costs you still have. 10k ontop of FOB usually sees you come out with money left over. In some cases though it will still be more than that. My Chaser for example, which was 13.6k on the boat, ended up costing 22K by the time it was sitting in my driveway rego'd with a full tank of fuel. Considering I didn't have to pay for compliance, it shows just how many costs there are after you've paid for the car itself. Shit can seriously add up fast on you when you import, and a lot of people just don't realise how many little costs there are. Like I said, overbudgeting is the best way to do it, as 99% of the time it is more expensive then you first thought.

Tough Cefiros & Other 4drs

DAaaaammmmn. That grey one looks fking awesome. I'm going for that look with my 32 if I keep it, but I'm gonna have to find similar wheels in 5stud Heres some 4 door love, my old Chaser :) -
^okay having said that, I'd recommend not to import something that is already abundant in Aus. You'll probably end up having paid 15 - 16k on the R33 in your link after you've got it on the road (more if you register it for a long time and get full comp insurance and stuff). There are some pretty nice examples getting around for that sort of money, and you can sit in the car and drive it in most cases before you buy, let alone not having to wait months to even see it. If you seriously can't find ANYTHING in Aus that tickles your fancy then by all means import your own. With someone like Kristian from Iron Chef Imports guiding you every step of the way and letting you know whats happening with your car, it can be a very interesting and happy process, but there are always risks involved which are out of your - or anyones - control, and whilst only very slight these days, the possibility of you coming out of it way in the red still exists.

Where is the taxes mentioned in that? My JZX100 was A$13.6k over in Japan (back when we had a shit exchange rate), so the gst on it was $1360 (10%). The shipping was roughly $1100, plus then you've got the Import Tax which is calculated on the cost of car + gst (tax on a tax, gotta love the government ) + shipping, all of which = $16060, so $1606. Customs broker ended up just over 5k for me: gst on car $1360, shipping $1100, import tax $1606, then all the other little fees like wharfage, quarantine, brokers fees, transport etc. I got slugged for storage (~ $300 I think) even though I paid the broker fee quickly, as they decided to put it in storage straight away, nice people they are Compliance for me was cost price as I had a test car (first car of that type for the workshop) but compliance for an R33 should be 3 to 3.5k with tyres. As a general rule, I say for a cheap car (under 15K FOB) budget about 10 grand on top of the FOB. Usually that should be about right, or you'll come in just under, but sometimes it may be even more. Golden rule when importing - OVER BUDGET! it's a lot nicer to end up with money left over, than be out of pocket with unseen expenses.

R32 specific Supermade bootlip spoiler. In white atm, but needs paint touching up. $300 4door Type M rear pods. Excellent condish, in white. Dunno how much these are worth - they somewhat rare? 100 bucks? Universal Bride race seat, I believe it's a BRIX. Average condish, few tears, padding loose. Still a solid seat, great for a budget slider. $250 no rail. 4x BBS mesh, 17 x 9 +20 all round. Come with 60ish% Continentals, camber worn though. I believe 1 rim has had cracks repaired. $1500, cheap for lightweight BBS'. Reduced to $1000 if sold by the end of the month!! Cheapest BBS' evar, and still with good tyres!!! PICSSs Boot spoiler Rear pods Bride Close up of rip This one shows rims and spoiler fitted All parts are in the Adelaide Hills, and I cbf with posting.

G'day folks Looking to chuck a front lip on my stocky R32 GTS-T front bar. Due to the difference in shape to a GTR bar, I don't think the GTR lip would fit on it, and I don't have the cash to go and buy one for it not to fit. Has anyone seen any a/m lips for a non-type m bar? either someone selling one, or even a pic of one on a car floating round japan, as I know they were big on factory aero with lip kits back in the day. Looking to do something like this

yeah that way doesn't usually end in your favour I've only ever had 2 defects, both cop shops. One was my old KE55, just bought some rims off a mate and he had been doing skids in his shed on them, so the rear tyres were cactus. Had tyres lined up the next day and got pulled over on my way to the shop Second was my Sprinter, done for hand brake not locking on and no horn button not a bad result I thought, seeing as the copper missed the 4AG conversion, cable ties everywhere, no carpet/sound deadening/rear trim

That is one of the most confusing statements if you get instant boost, you should be getting good torque as well after all, boost is what makes power in these engines I've driven plenty of 20 and 25 powered cars, (some factory, some converted) and the 25 is easily the pick for a daily driver. Nice amounts of low to mid range grunt, gets up and goes along nicely without needing bulk revs. My 32 (with stockish RB20) tends to need at least 3g on the tacho to start providing serious boogie, and thats with a relatively small turbo. The upside is it will sit on 8k wheelspinning for a while without complaint

do Mallala run grip days in the wet? (yes I realise that's a bit of a paradox ) I'd be keen for a grip day or 2 when I can afford it, which won't be until midway through winter when it will probably be pretty rainy. If theres no grip days run in this time then looks like I'll be out for skids prac days instead.
-
I hear that! I start a new job at the end of the month and I'll be cutting it extremely fine for cash by that time Might come along to this one as it's a bit earlier, although if it's another city/bay/lofty thing I might not.

This is the way of thinking I'm not a fan of. The 'ACA/Today Tonight' way of thinking. Sure, I do skids, I bust hills runs. But it is because I do skids and bust hills runs that I don't drive like a dickhead in the suburbs. It's called time and place Ripping a static at the lights in traffic is being a dickhead, sliding intersections in the middle of the day is being a dickhead. Co-incidently I don't do that, so I do not appreciate your comment. And yes, I do believe car control is a skill that you can use in certain situations. When a car loses control it is scary. If you've never had it happen, you will more than likely panic and not know which course of action to take. Part of car control is not getting into sthose situations, the other part is 'damage control' (no pun intended) once you do. Having said that, I have not had to use these skills in daily driving, as I do not drive like a fkwit, because I prefer to have my fun in a more appropriate place, at a more appropriate time. My point here is don't write someone off just because they drive their car in a different way to you, they have their reasons. I like to learn about car behaviour, tyre grip and how it is affected by road conditions, and so on. Sure, some simply like to disturb the peace or 'show off' and they ARE dickheads, but don't let their actions speak for everyone.

^ when in doubt, power out

*edit* That up there ^^ is absolute gold, women read up I learnt opposite lock and catching/holding slides before I learnt how to reverse park. In 5 years of driving I've had 1 speeding fine (4.5 years ago) and have never 'crashed' a car whilst driving around the suburbs. I'm not condoning him going and ripping skids in his Commy, but the blanket suggestion of 'learning to drive' involving nothing but learning the road rules is pretty narrow minded. What would you do if you hit a river of water or an oily patch going up the freeway and the car started to slide on you?

Spotted a few R33s in the car park of the Grays Inn at Mt Barker this evening, one was white with some graphics stripes along the side, the other was a grey 4dr looked stock as they come.

^ It's been a while since I had a bash on the original Gran Turismo, but from what I remember the cars were too hard to hold in slides and link corners. I should dig it up one day and compare it back to back with GT4. I would like to give GT5 a shot, but don't see myself even having a decent TV anytime soon, let alone a PS3 and wheel and the game I'd drop by your house and take you up on your offer/challenge bit I think you're in a different state

Erin I'm pretty sure people have been meeting up and cruising to drive-in's long before Fast and Furious came out I'm watching the trailer now, doesn't really seem that interesting. I can also see quite a few of us nit-picking the movie about faults and things that aren't realistic with the cars
