  1. Thought I'd update this thread to for those not following my build. Got mine tuned Friday :My 6466 went 630hp on 29psi but was lifting the head. Ended up winding it back to 451hp on 15psi for now till we can get in there and sus out the problem. Car already had ARP studs. Dyno graphs to follow
  2. Build thread updated with a few monster posts. More to come but gotta get some pictures together first
  3. Initial plan may be to bore out the head and block and go half inch studs
  4. POWERPLAY: The morning began with a 2am phone alarm [1.5hrs sleep total] Had to do a few minor things to the car before I had to leave. I was driving the car down to Queensland Raceway and it still didnt have the front bar on. I cut some of the bar up to fit the new big intercooler, however didnt guess enough when it came to the piping and it fouled big time. With some creative Zip Tie usage I was able to get it on there well enough for the drive down there and then once there I could just drive without it or look at getting it on there better. We arrived at QR at 4:50am and orientation/car inspection started at 6am. we were surprised to see we were one on the first 25 cars there so we got into the line super quick and waited till 6am and got the process extremely quick and were at the track come 6:30am, by far a record time in my history. Let the racing begin!!! We & 3 mates split a garage which got us all pit passes, so we were able to get out onto the track as often as we liked during the cruise sessions. First cruise session was at 8am so we had some time to kill. This was spent setting up the garage with all of our gear, electronics and so forth. I bought the MT streets even though the car was down on power as i really wanted to test them out and see how they went. Jumped into the first cruise session with just the normal street tyres [265/35/18] to see how they would go as if they were good enough i wasn't going to bother with the MT's. After the first straight I realised they were not going to do at all. I gave them a total of 3 laps before i came in & threw the MT's on. This was the first time I got to test out the car since getting it back. For the power and boost I was running the car really surprised me, it was more responsive than before and still baked 2nd with ease and also a lot of 3rd. 450hp with the 25/30 definitely felt and ran a lot better than my old rb25 making 450hp which also ran 8 more psi. The torque from the 3 litre really made it a strong 450hp car. It was however still a bit slower than what my car was running previous at 588hp Anyway time for the MT's Streets!! I didnt bother letting any air pressure out of them. After the first new hits with these on and getting some warmth into them they preformed perfectly. I cant talk these up enough, it soon became impossible to bake in 2nd let alone 3rd. Each run with these on was 100% grip, the only time I spun the tyres without clutch kicking it was when I had a run from 1st gear at about 5kmph. These stayed on for the rest of the day till i changed back to my road tyres for the drive home. Here is a few photos that i found of my car on the day. I will have some video up in the coming days also, but i didnt really use the camera much Here is also a picture of my new fuel system install Closest race of the day went to a Cobra. Doors to Doors the whole straight
  5. Gee where to start, Needless to say the last week has been pretty full on. After many a delay I finally got the car back on Friday. After noticing the car was on the dyno at 10:30am on Friday I expected to get a call around 12:30pm-1pm stating that its done. It came to 3:30pm and I hadn't heard anything so I gave them a call. Apparently the car ran out of fuel on the dyno during tuning and they had to go get some more (I dropped it off with a full tank). I let them know it takes me 2 hours to get there so if they know when it will be ready i can start heading there earlier so they arent hanging around waiting for me all arfternoon. Finally got a call back at 5:30pm stating that its nearly finished and to head down. They advised on the phone that it made 630rwhp on 29psi, however the head was lifting and they wanted to "dial it back" a bit to make it safe for powerplay. Arrived there at about 7pm and got chatting about the car. Even though the car has ARP head studs it was still lifting. I thought "righto at that pressure I guess it needs looking at". Then came the "Dialed Back" numbers. They ended up bringing it all the way back to 451rwhp on 15psi. I still and even now am surprised they had to drop it back so much to make it run safely. Due to the time of night and a bit of disbelief on my behalf I didnt go into depth about the lifting issue etc. By the time we got the car loaded onto my mates tow truck and got it back home & back into the shed it was 11pm. After finishing off other setup jobs for powerplay the next day I got to bed at 12:30am. NOTE : I DO have dyno sheets for both the 630 runs and the 451 runs. I will scan and upload them hopefully tonight.
  6. You can always dream about smoking cars
  7. Probably the best 12hr sleep I've ever had Despite the poor power figure i hit the track with yesterday, the car still toasted its fair amount of car and was only running 15psi.
  8. That there was
  9. Good day was good
  10. It went 630hp on 29psi, heads lifting thouvgh so winding it back a bit
  11. So, they ran out of fuel and had to pop out for some more. So it's been off the dyno for the last few hours whilst another car is on
  12. Haven't heard a thing
  13. Nope, still here
  14. Certainly does, as long as it starts with a 6 Ants then im happy
  15. Car is currently on the Dyno getting tuned. May just make it to powerplay tomorrow after all
  16. I have faith it will be ready
  17. Can't wait for the dirty thirty
  18. It's definitely worth making the switch. Too many easy gains from it not to and it's becoming more and more readily available
  19. I've just upgraded from a Walbro e85 pump to a surge tank and twin 044's. Car was making 588hp on the Walbro but it was leaning out up top. I wouldn't push one of these walbros past 500-520hp. If yours chasing 600 or more I'd look into an external setup. For the extra bit of cash it's worth making sure the motor doesn't lean out and wreck what you've just built
  20. Soon, powerplay is tomorrow. Still no car
