  1. Besides the fact we fell behind and the leader of our group didnt go up mt kiera, (never follow a suba ) we still had a good time. I quite enjoyed my first time out driving with you all.. got some pics and some videos (130 meg a vid) so i might have to shrink them and host the 1 or 2 good ones.. camera died so i couldnt film going up mt kiera on the way home.. Will up a few pics later tonight. Thanks to Gemma for organising it all.. Next time im going in the lead pack so we dont get lost.
  2. ill do a step by step because i did it just 2 weeeks ago.. 1. undo the 2 screws in the rear wheel arches where it meets the rear bar (1 each side) 2. take out the black screw plug thing just under the rear number plate 3. take out the inner skin of your boot. 4. inside you should see a bolt about halfway between the rear wheel arch and the back following the bar line. (1 each side) one is hiding behind the jack so just take that out. 5. remove your number plate because it is too big to move the bar along, or just remove the whole thing its bolted to (2 screws above it) Optional step. remove your tail lights, inside the boot there should be 3or 4 8mm bolts behind the tail lights. they are the only bolts there should be easy. Dont forget when removing the bar that as you bring it off you will need to stick your hand down and unplug your reverse lights/ number plate light. Just twist and pull.. There should be 3 of them p.s. just under the tail lights it has like a metal bracket? that the bar fits into, it holds it on under the lights, that just slots in and out. Just take you time and it should pull off easily, if it gets stuck just have a look around and check there is nothing holding it.. Hope that helps mate
  3. Here are mine.. Came on my car. I believe they are the nismo ones. Sorry for average pic, couldnt find other pics of them.. At least you can see them up close and in detail
  4. Anyone from the western suburbs.. ie penrith or even blacktown anywhere around there heading out, that wouldn't mind me tagging along/following them there.. Just pm me or reply to this and ill get in touch with you. Im going to take the day off work thats if it doesnt rain heavily or anything.. Gearbox goes in on monday so i wanna get some fun driving in with my baby before she goes away to get all fixed up.. p.s. gemma you called me Davis lol
  5. Hey all. Was going to post in the Brakes section but seeing as its a N/A type question and the people that have done the upgrade or are planning to do it are more inclined to visit this section i posted here.. If it should be moved to the brake section by all means feel free to move it.. Anywho my question is as follows.. I just picked up a set of r33 GTS-T rotors and calipers for my 34, i researched that they would bolt directly on no problems.. Nobody seemed to mention that i would need a bigger master cylinder/ brake booster (not sure if they are the same part, i think they are). But i thought i may as well inquire about it, would i need to get one to be able to do the conversion. Or could i get away with it for a while or forever?? Thanks for any and all input everyone..
  6. Id love to come and meet some of you guys and girls. Not 100% on whether or not i can come. All depends on if my gearbox is going in to get done or not.. Cause im dumb and dont like livo, where exactly is the KK/Maccas carpark (i might of been there for a honda meet with my bro) I know its on the cumberland highway, but how far along, is it near the westfields. (i probably sound retarded but yeah) Hope to see you all there
  7. Can you send me a pic of the front and rear rotors? Also rear calipers thanks
  8. ok, thats the kinda news i wanted to hear.. Hopefully ill be able to get the $$ in time, otherwise ill just have to save my pennies for a bit and find another pair.. Only other concern is that will i need to get a bigger brake booster for the brakes or will my stock one do the job? (sorry if its a dumb question, just dont want to miss anything) Thanks for all the input btw everyone, been a big help.
  9. It only has the stock little gt brakes so i dont think it would have the GTT hubs.. How much did the set of 34GTR brakes set u back. only reason i was considerin the 32 ones is cause they were 1000 or under, dont really want to pay close to 4 grand. Even the GTT rotors and calipers and hubs would be nice, but dont really know much about how to get a set of hubs or if they would just go straight on or not.. i assume they would though (not real good with brakes knowledge)
  10. Found a set of 32 GTR rotors, calipers and brake lines for $800 for my na r34. just wanting clarification that it would swap over without and modification. (except for brake lines), Been told it would but couldnt find a definate answer before i part with the $$. Thanks
  11. Have you tried taking off your seat and lookin underneath?? my old ford had the same problem, my dad just took off the seat and fiddled around (not sure what he did) maybe the left hand side things that adjust your seat (the 2 knobs at the side) might have worn on that side or something.. sorry i aint that much help, but yeah taking the seat out and lookin might solve your problem if its any help.
  12. Hey all About a month and a half ago i bought my car from top secret imports in Blacktown It's an R34 GT its done about 69,000kms. about 1500 since imported. Anyways when i test drove my car it was great 2nd gear went in a bit notchy but didn't crunch or anything like that, rest of the gears were fine. I'll explain the full drama so it might give a clearer picture of what I'm dealing with. After compliance i picked up the car to drive it around for about 2hrs and noticed 3rd crunched not matter what. it then started in 4th then started going into 2nd.. So i took the car back the next day. They said they would change the oil to redline oil instead of the generic stuff they used to begin with.. A few days later i got the car back and everything seemed fine, still a bit notchy in 2nd but i was prepared to live with it. up until about 2 weeks ago when 2nd and 3rd would crunch while up-shifting no matter what. it has since started spreading to 4th gear. But its only while shifting up, not down. I think the new oil just masked the problem up till now. Now yesterday I'm getting this weird squeak sound when i lift the clutch while taking off in 1st, not taking off hard just normal driving.. I think the clutch has slipped once, i was holding the clutch at the holding point on a slight incline when it just lost the holding point and stalled. Could the gearbox drama have done this to the clutch? Also any ideas what my problems could be and how to rectify them?? I have a 1yr warranty on the car that covers Gearbox: all lubricated components excluding tourqe converters to the value of $1500 Clutch: Slave and Master cylinder only to the value of $750 So i hope that it will cover whatever is wrong with both the gearbox and clutch otherwise I'm seriously considering some type of action against top secret for breaking my gearbox in the first place. I have lost the car to top secret for 2 weeks while they respray the bootlid, Yes 2 weeks to respray the boot wtf? After putting a 30cm scratch along it while changing the oil a month ago (had to chase them every week for 1 and a half months even though it was supposed to be done the week after scratching it. Easily the worst customer service ever, dont return phone calls or anything.) So should I get them to look into the drama or take it somewhere else? Where would be a good transmission place be to take it in western sydney? Thanks for any help you can give me. p.s. sorry for the mass of questions i just dont know what to do with it.
  13. Hey everyone. During compliance on my R34 skyline they put child restraints in through the stock speaker covers, I figured it was no biggie till i tried to take the cover off to change the speakers.. Ive taken out the bolt that held the child restraint on but the cover is still stuck down on all four corners. What is the likelyhood it is glued and how would u suggest i get them off? Tried cutting along the edge of the bottom of the covers but its too damn tight so the blade doesnt fit (parcel shelf and speaker cover). I also have no idea how or if i can take the parcel shelf off. Its really starting to bug me cause the speaker is rooted and i cant do anything about it
  14. Hey all. finally stopped raining so i took a few snaps on the phone for u all. LED taillights and GTR front bar = the sex.
  15. They are Voltec wheels. model: Inter Milano. My 34 came with them when i imported it 18's.. Depending on size and condition you could probably sell them for 1000.. Just to be sure are these the same as what your talking about?? (sorry about angle, took it on phone when i was lookin at the car. got more of a shadow chrome look out of the light)
  16. I think so. Because wouldnt they have to drain the fluids and clutch?
  17. Hey everyone. I just recently got my new 34 GT from top secret imports in blacktown. When i test drove it before compliance it was an awesome machine. Gearbox was fine from 1st to 5th. After waiting close to 3 weeks for compliance and rego i get the car back take it for a drive to get some petrol and on the way home changing into 4th at about 4000rpm or above no matter how hard i push the clutch into the ground it crunches in 4th and 5th. at lower revs it pops into 4th but still crunches into 5th no matter wat. I think since compliance they have stuffed up the sychros so I have since taken the car back and they are looking into it but i thought i might do some asking around to see if anyone has had a similar problem. (tried a search nothin specific enough). Anyways my questions are, What could they have messed up with on compliance? Was it just not put back together properly so the clutch doesnt release the gear properly? and why wouldnt this affect the other 3 gears? Anything would help give me some piece of mind.. Been nothing but a headache since i started compliance and i dont want to think i have bought a bodgey skyline after drivin it so nicely before.. Lost the car for another 4 days too And may as well ask while im here.. what does this sticker mean.. its like a green clock with the 3 highlighted and some writing around it
  18. Thanks guys, guess i wont be getting based on this advice, probably a good thing for me anyways. Gotta get over my 'new car syndrome' and look out for christmas. Forgot to mention The car came with blistein coilover suspension.. havnt gotten under her yet to check it out though.. should probably get around to doin that when i get a day off hehe.
  19. Hey guys i was thinking of picking up a e-manage gold for $400 for my new 34 GT (pics to come soon) I was wondering if it would work with a non turbo skyline because it came from a GT-T, i know a few of the PFC's work with both but im not 100% sure about piggyback systems. Also would the power output be worthwhile, Current mods are a 2 and a half inch kakimoto catback exhasut system, extractors and pod filter. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
  20. anyone got any ideas where i can find the East Bear Kit, my car came with the front bar but not the rest, its really bugging me. any help would be appreciated thanks.
  21. Hey guys just picked up my new r34 It currently has an east bear gtr style front bar (came with the car) but without the skirts it just isn't right, anyone know where i could get a set of skirts or even the rear bar as well in Aus? Iv'e tried lookin everywhere on the net and the only stuff i could find was either learn to read jap and order it in myself. Or get it from the UK for close to 2 grand. Thanks.
  22. hah i was going to look at a type R but my bro would absolutely kill me he wanted to buy one for so long, ended up with a accord euro.. in about 2 months i should be able to get my loan and then ill be a part of the fray. Been going through all the posts and yeh R34 just wins ova the 33 also alotta wogs just ruin the 33's a bit for me and being Italian i gotta break away from the whole woggishness 20 inch chromies = gay Thanks guys just wanted some reassurance on my decision.. wish me luck!
  23. Hey everyone, Ive been hunting around for about 3 weeks tossing and turning between a non-turbo R33, R34, Supra or an Autech s15 (if i magically win 5 grand) I was looking at the one that MR XTC recently bought, the bastard hasnt brought the add down so i just discovered he got it. I'm trying to set myself a limit of $16 000 unless a mint autech comes along for cheap then ill go so far in debt ill have to feed myself through the ass. Anyways here is the R34 thats at the top of my list http://ninemsn.carpoint.com.au/used-car/NI...csn5497982.aspx or http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...80&trecs=10 Lines look clean, fair amount of Km's. Being a friggin Red P plater in the grand old State of NSW killed my chances of buyin a 33 GTST from a mate at work. My plans for the car cosmetically are minor, wing and side skirts. Engine wise i will mainly just go a cat back exhaust system, and anything i can hide from the cops. I have plenty of time (gotta a few months of payin off another loan before car) so any and all feedback on what to look out for on a good/bad skyline would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave
