Hey All I have searched everywhere but no luck - obviously being 30 years old my gearbox and handbrake shrouds are flaking. Does anyone know if any of the universal ones fit well and if so which one? Is there a website I can buy an actual r32 factory replacement (again, looked for hours)?

I think this is the problem, I checked the diff oil and it's 75w90, thanks for the great advice. I love the motul stuff but can't find where to buy except stupid prices online?

Hey All I can't seem to find this problem anywhere. After highway driving for 20 mins or so and leaving it in 5th I hear a slight whine from diff at 80kph. I have changed the diff oil to nulon 75w90 correct spec and it made absolutely no difference. Any idea what the problem is? And no vibration at all. Some say additives work some say they don't but I don't want to fork out for the redline stuff for it not yo fix anything. Ideas pls?

Thank you guys, the autolec I took it to said it tested fine for gas, so I'm assuming maybe the dryer hasn't been changed and/or it wasn't flushed completely and it's now running some weird mongrel mix of gases in it. Anyway know of a good skyline ac guy in coffs?!

All I have an 89 r32 gtst, my ac blows hot for the first 10 minutes then works fine? I have looked on sau and run the diagnostic; as per usual amb temp reads -33 degrees. All cycles run fine through diagnostic. An autolec said it seems to have gas but it is prolly the newer legal gas which runs at a different pressure hence the lag. He said it would need a new compressor and valves/fittings to accommodate the new gas and could cost thousands. I have had a skyline for years so I know there has to be a hack - I live in coffs harbour so don't have access to a heap of rb fanatic mechanics. Any help pls?

So I've looked around for about an hour and I still have a question- I have a 89 gtst that's a little crunchy when cold and when fast shifting 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th. Everyone says redline shockproof- do I assume it is the 75w90ns (non slip) gl-5 due to the hypoid gears? Cheers for any help.

Thanks for the details. What about ctp though? Plus does a subframe, instrument cluster and maybe a front diff constitute a gts4? I can't figure it out. Is there anything in the vin that delineates a gts4 from a gtst? I can't figure it out?!

Hey All, I have had a look through the forums but it's a little hard to get the right keyword. I have an r32 gts4, standard mods (at least thats what I was told when I bought it). My rego renewal turned up and it says 1998 instead of 1989, so I'm gonna have to get it fixed. My dilemma is that the front spindles have been removed (pretty sure the front transfer case is there) plus it has the gts4 dash (front torque read out top left) but my mechanic told me it has an rb 20 gearbox. Should I register/insure as a gtst sedan or a gts4? Is there a way to tell by the vin number? The last thing I want is the insurance company to screw me because of a technicality. Anyone else been in a similar position? Any help appreciated.

So is the diff the same as a normal gts-t or something different altogether? If I put the gear ff lsd oil in will it do any damage?

Hey All I'm about to change my rear diff oil (little whiney) in my 1989 r32 gts4. I've read the forums for hours and have a few questions: - is my rear diff the same or similar to the r32 gtr? - is my rear diff viscous or mechanical, and - most importantly what oil should I buy. I like the motul engine oil so is gear ff lsd the go?

Hello I have an 89 r32 gts-4 converted to rear wheel drive. My a/c, after several diagnostic runs, is now blowing ambient air. When i do the diagnostics the compressor definitely engages as the idle changes. When I turn the a/c on however it doesn't? I have had a quick look at the blend motor and plug and it doesn't seem to be the problem. My outside air temp sensor is showing -30, will this stop my a/c coming on? I have checked every relevant post on the forum and can't find out? If it does, can someone please advise what size resistor I need to put across the plug? Can I assume it's the same as the inside air temp sensor?

Hello All I am recently the proud owner of 89 r32 gts4 sedan and have had it in the mechanics getting a new clutch. He advised me the car is pretty sound except that I need left and right rear rose bushes on the end of the hicas steering rack? From the photos can anyone please advise where I can buy these from as I have searched the internet without success. Plus what is their correct name? Apologies if this thread has been done before I searched and couldn't find anything. I have talked to white line who advised they have a hicas lockout bar but it still needs to connect to these bushes.
