  1. alright thanks everyone, having a read of that thread now. as for ebay dumps- not even better than stock?? what size and how restrictive are the stock ones? what about ebay front pipes? what are they like?? thanks all, appreciated
  2. Dunno if this is in the right section but I thought someone might be remotely interested: This is what has consumed me for the past few years... 1984 MA61 Toyota Supra 1988 Supra Turbo engine conversion (7M-GTE w/ highflowed turbo @ 13psi, 550cc injectors, 2.5" flowed intercooler piping, Apexi SAFC2, 600x300x76mm intercooler, 3" cold air intake into guard) Standard W58 5 speed w/ heavy duty clutch and flywheel Truetrac LSD 3.9:1 ratio (looking to go to 3.5:1, 3.9 is way to short) 326mm Brembo front rotors w/ 4 piston calipers, 308mm front rotors w/ twin piston calipers 17x7.5" BSA rims, with Toyo Proxes T1R rubber tokico shocks F&R king springs F&R whiteline adjustable swaybars F&R RA60 front strut tubes (easy 2 deg negative camber) Everything else has been reconditioned/replaced over the years... except the gearbox I think! Black Interior swap from other MA61 Supra Full respray and rust cut out in Black And more stuff but it's pretty boring... Also featured: http://grandjdm.com/2007/10/12/featured-ca...rys-mkii-supra/ Everything engineered and legal. Does winton is around 1:47 but it was my first time on street tyres, I reckon I can get quicker with non-warped rotors . Also made 227rwkW at 12psi and 630Nm in 4th gear (equates to around 500Nm at engine). Really hate the untasteful cars around nowdays, the aim was to create something that fit in the 80s but improved on every mechanical aspect. Stock power is around 138hp at the fly (SOHC 2.8 six), now making around 400hp at the flywheel (DOHC 3.0 turbo 6). Handles very well, considering it was conceived as more of a big GT than sportscar (I've certainly turned that around). With the new tyres, LSD and neg camber I couldn't get it to understeer in a motorkhana Doesn't have the solid "stuck to the road" feel of the GTR but almost feels lighter and edgier... dunno I've got some R-Specs and a Haltech ecu there waiting for some funds to finish the car off. Hopefully with a bit of ignition control I can see 250rwkW. When I bought it: Now: Anyway thats it! I've got an old V8 merc too that gets 20l/100km which is a pain in the arse
  3. Cheers Johnny, sounds interesting What modifications are you running? I'm looking at just doing airfilter + HKS style dumps (i know, not great, but better than stock ), eBay front pipes, "high flow" cat, (already got cat back) then maybe a haltech e11v2, boost it up to 12-13psi... 230rwkw+ would be nice! Cheers mate
  4. cheers guys, that's answered it all! easier to retain airbox and get nice cold air and keep the polici away. just wondering because i've done a bit of reading and many stock airboxes suck (in a bad way)
  5. Hello all Wondering what flows better. Aftermarket airfilter of high-flowing variety in standard RB26 airbox or Twin pod filters. I have a pod on the supra, but it is relocated into the wheel well away from hot engine air. I would like to retain the stock airbox for this function but if it's design is restrictive I will give it the arse. thanks
  6. yeah could you please? [email protected] thanks, ryley
  7. thanks amte appreciate it!
  8. here is the car. turned out to not be a v-spec, but a 1990 model. Proper pics soon. It's a 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R, in KF1 dark blue pearl. 99,500kms. Car is very very clean, still had some cool Japanese stuff in it (Purikura, flares etc). First registered owner in Aus. Mods: 17x9" BBS LM wheels Tein coilovers (currently getting rebuilt) Shiny 3.5" cat back with milo tin sized muffler Strut brace HKS hardpipes Really gay CD stacker that I can't turn off Still has original airbox, timing belt was done 20,000kms ago. And I want to change that strange grille for the genuine GT-R one. Next up is dumps and frontpipes, (are the justjap spec ones alright?) and k&n filter in stock airbox. Good fun car though! Got some new tyres today. Will be used as a daily by Dad and myself and also as tarmac rally car/track racer.
  9. Currently have an aftermarket GT-R style grille on my GTR, as seen here: It's the KF1 Dark blue pearl colour. In great condition. IMO would look better on a car with an aftermarket front bar, doesn't really suit the standard bar. Would like to swap for a proper GTR one, or work something out cheap? Thanks
  10. link to the calendar isn't working anymore?? got myself an R32 GT-R and an MA61 supra, keen to get them too the track...
  11. Hi all I'm a migrant from the Toyota forums, due to I've just got an R32 GT-R V-Spec with Dad for a daily/trackwork. My personal car is an 84 Toyota Supra with the 7MGTE turbo engine transplant.... I've spent shitloads on it and it's now in showroom condition, 230rwkw, 326 brembo brakes etc etc I've also got an old S class Merc (3.8l V8) which hates the environment. thats about it! keen to get the gt-r (thursday) and put a power fc on it etc What ways can i determine if it is a genuine V spec? It's midnight blue... 92 model... seems to have bigger brakes but I'm not 100% sure... anyway thanks and ciao for now
  12. yeah the 2jz has a metal headgasket standard- rectification for the lousy head bolt torque which caused the gasket problems on the 7m. a standard 2jz-gte (with exhaust and pod etc) will pump out around 220rwkw. apparently it's tricky to up the boost simply due to the sequential setup. good cars though, extremely good suspension design also so go very very well through corners. the 6 speed is unbreakable and the rz has a torsen lsd. plus at 1420kg ish for the sz and 1480kg is for the RZ they aren't really heavy. check out toymods.org.au too, more technical info that sf.com and much more useful.
