  1. I have a standard wheel with airbag and maybe a RH rear extension skirt (except I'm not sure what that is sorry). I've got a few other bits and pieces as well if there's anything else you need/want. All parts are off a 97 V spec and are located in Newcastle NSW. PM me if you're interested mate.
  2. You looking at putting your own screen in there?
  3. Yeah that's what I ended up having to do. He basically said what I posted before; You can make them raise and lower but not much else.
  4. You can find some of the wiring diagram on here if you search for it long enough using the screen model as the keyword but what you wont find is that you need the unit just to get the screen to work at all.
  5. Nah that one in the photo isn't mine, I'm looking at tracking one down.
  6. Lol fair enough then. Can you get the screen fixed?
  7. Ok so if the buttons don't work, how do you control it?
  8. Like the title says, does anyone on here own/owned an R34 with the pop up screen on the dash where the 3 center gauges or fixed mfd goes in the GTT and GTR? This one; How does it turn on? Is there like an on/off switch? Is it wired into the ignition or Do you need the factory head unit to activate it? (make it pop up and turn on) Does anyone know how the get the signal to the screen? RCA plugs ect. Does the screen work similar to the fixed GTR screen as far as wiring work? I've found heaps of infor on here about the GTR screens but very little about the units I'm talking about. I'm looking at doing a conversion in my car and hooking up a car pc to it. If anyone here had done this I'd love to hear from them or anyone in the Newcastle area that I could actually see working first hand would be fantastic. Cheers in advance guys.
  9. If you're in NSW and some one asks you to race for pinks. Stare at them with your best 'what the hell are you talking about' look and ask them what the f*@k do they need a road worthy certificate for a Nissan skyline for? ... Unless they're in an unregistered skyline, they'd probably have a fairly descent excuse then.
  10. Yeah I know just getting a car that already has everything you want on it is the best option but out of the engine swap or gearbox swap which would be cheaper?
  11. Hey guys I'm asking this question for a good mate of mine. I would like to know what'd be cheaper; Converting an auto car into a manual or swapping an N/A motor for a Turbo one? I'm of the opinion that just buying a manual car that is already turbo is a far far better and cheaper option. However, my mate wants a car asap, preferably yesterday if possible. His budget can only afford one or the other. He is of the opinion that if he gets what he can afford now, he can enjoy it until more money comes along to make it what he wanted in the first place. He's got a point there. Anyway I got a quote ages ago for making an auto 300zx into a manual for $5000 including parts and labour from Advan in Sydney and at the time the price difference between buying an auto car and a manual car was about $8000 depending on Km's ect. A complete turbo motor conversion, with brakes, fuel pumps and all other supporting bits and pieces would surely cost more than this right? When you have to pay for both parts and labour surely it'd come up to at least $10,000 if everything was done properly and professionally? I should also explain that his short list of cars include 32's 33's and supra's. It looks like the supra's and skyline's are pretty similar when it comes to ease and cost of swapping parts between their families models so any feedback here would be appreciated as it'll probably be relatively accurate for the three cars. Cheers guys,
  12. Sweet it's another 34 GTR conversion topic! Quick get out as many posts as possible before more people get on and preach about "incorrectly" badged cars! What makes the gtr that much more of a looker to warrant the conversion? Is it the wider body? Nope! Wide bodies are good but why not go for something more along the lines of JGTC fenders since you're forking out for it anyway? They're good but they're not the reason to change so many other pieces of your car to complete the puzzle. Is it the sexy red R on the badge? Nope! Well... maybe but anyone who cares will circumcise your first born son in his sleep and nail your cat to a cross if they catch your GTT with a GTR badge on it. And debadged cars are better anyway (so I'm told) so that can't be it either... The wing! Actually, that's not it either since you're not in a real GTR so you won't be physically able to go fast enough to generate down force. I'm told wings are gay to. So don't worry someone who shares this view will post up soon enough. As the laws of physics state; 'once a cosmetic related thread containing a strongly biased opinion is in motion, the probability of someone with a similar opinion replying to the post is directly proportional to the probability of them reading it.' Seriously? I reckon it's where the front bar meets the bonnet. Think about it for a moment. Now compare to the GTR, That's it! I believe that little piece of fiberglass is what sets the entire car off. It's why the new lancer or GTR looks hot from the front. See, both so hot you cold cook a steak with a wallet sized picture of either of them! I know most of this post is a blatant waste of time and all the pictures are a joke but I'm throwing it out there that the person that does this; Except does a serious job of it that doesn't look like my horrible paint jpeg, will make a motsa out of tight arses that want the GTR look without the GTR cost. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong... I'm sure you will . I'm no fisherman but I reckon I'll get a bite out of this post!
