  1. Wow, fair effort. After the hype dies down most idol contestants go back to their day job What is your mate's name?
  2. And did that get them anywhere dezz? It doesn't tend to. AI is pretty pointless IMO.
  3. White R32 GTS4 with SAU stickers at Southland yesterday. And Charles this morning turning onto Nepean Hwy. Kent looked half asleep
  4. Yeah, he had a shot in 2006 (when he was a bit younger and less experienced). Made it into the top 100, flew to Sydney etc. but didn't make it much further. Then he sung/played guitar in front of 10,000+ people at Youth Alive for a few years. Now he plays guitar in punk/pop rock band "FIDO", runs Grafete Studios and teaches music... So yeah, he is very busy. That's why I said he would probably only do gigs for $$ (coz it would probably mean dropping other projects). He is a very passionate musician and a huge inspiration to me. When he agreed to sing/produce my project I couldn't believe it.
  5. Thanks for taking the time to listen It's still a few months off but I will definitely let you all know how it goes. I was only using Justin as an example. My point was that the internet is a huge marketing tool these days. If there is enough online demand for local gigs then I'll see what I can do. All comes down to my singer though. If there was big $$ involved then he might be persuaded There are shitloads of sites like MySpace and PureVolume (no kidding, I know about 30). I will be signing up and tackling them all. Any exposure is good exposure
  6. Yeah, last.fm is a good one I'm making a list of places to market. I reckon there's at least 100 well known sites. Once the stuff is recorded I'm going to go apeshit and post everywhere. As for style, I'd compare myself more to Teddy Gieger, Evermore (old stuff), Coldplay (old stuff) etc.
  7. We're going in the total opposite direction. I haven't even jammed with the singer before. The first time we play together will be in the studio We're hitting the internet first and seeing how many fans that can pull. With the right marketing you can get signed without playing a single show (just look at that little Justin Bieber kid, all it took was some youtubing). And it's not exactly a band. It's my solo project with someone else singing. With my shitty vocals and bedroom recordings I've already been in the Triple J Unearthed charts (check the pop ones, I'm sure I'm still up there) so I'm really expecting to go places with the new stuff. I wouldn't mind doing gigs but my singer would be way too busy (he does Rod Laver shows, no shit). I have no idea why he has any interest with working with someone at my level but he says he sees potential. Acoustic/pop/rock. Most guys won't get into it but it's what I write best and girls love it. So that's my target audience. www.triplejunearthed.com/JeremyDrakeford ^ Got some stuff there. If you have 5 minutes to spare, rate me 5 stars or leave a good review
  8. I wouldn't say a "star" yet But in all modesty, I have potential. This time I've teamed up with a guy from Australian Idol 2006. I've got a bunch of great songs and with his voice and $5k of recording/mastering I think we can create something farking awesome After that will come photoshoots, a website, and all that marketing bullshit. Will be a long and expensive process but IF it's successful then yeah, I won't be bothering with $10k cars anymore
  9. Nah. In all seriousness, I'm spending 4 or 5k on recording an EP at the end of July. Will be well worth the money though.
  10. Or lose it all and be stuck driving this Supra for the next 2 years?
  11. So do I But I'm not going to buy it.
  12. Wish I could join you there. Was meant to go to my mate's DJ gig tonight, got there and couldn't get in. Was too many people. Now I'm stuck at home with shit all alcohol. 1/8 a bottle of scotch and a cruiser my girlfriend left in the fridge. EPIC FAIL However... The night is still young and I have $10k to blow. Suggestions?
  13. Saw a nice empty wide backstreet (other than one guy on a bike) so decided to give the car a bit of stick. Flew past the guy on the bike and then realised it was my step dad... He'll be arriving home at any second now. Uh oh... For the record I wasn't going fast, I just accelerated like crazy so I know he'll be like "rah rah you must've been going at least 200k"
  14. Parked next to a black S1 R33 (with SAU stickers) on Southland rooftop last night. Must've been there for a long time. I had dinner, saw a movie and when I got back to my car it was still there Also... This morning around 9am I spotted a black S13 with SAU stickers turning onto Boundary Rd from Lower Dandenong Rd.
  15. LOL @ Hondas being on the list
  16. When will the secret be revealed?
  17. www.j-spec.com.au
  18. I thought different size on front/rear meant they were staggered?
  19. Spotted Charles yesterday turning onto Nepean Hwy from Lower Dandenong Rd. Had his little Safeway hat on
  20. Yeah. Shame. Looked so promising in the photos. Oh well, I'll hold my money until the next one comes along.
  21. Test drove an MR2 turbo tonight... The engine was great but every other aspect was f*cked. I wouldn't have payed more than $4000 for it. They're fun little cars to drive though. Really quick for a little 4 banger.
  22. Hells yeah. ZX is gone and I have $7100 in hand
  23. That sucks bad man Happened to me too but nowhere near that bad. Hope it's a smooth recovery for your car.
  24. I'm improving bro! ..Not that there was anything wrong with my driving before And yeah blags, just ignore me. I just start mouthing off when anyone hangs shit on MR2s It's a reflex.
  25. If I get it, race me through the twisties Then we'll see who's laughing when I beat you and walk away with all the change I've got from the $7500 asking price. ..This is all assuming that your car is fairly stock performance/handling wise. If not, ignore the above
