there was one in st marys a while back. (not sure if this WAS it but pretty sure...) but the red commodore's speedo froze at 175kmph. consider that after braking. =S
my dad has a silver vs commodore & after learning in that they have a f**kload of power but nothing to back it up. horrible steering, shit brakes & poo suspension. all they have is their engine which to be honest is just muscle anyway. you race one of those anything that gets in your way you're almost bound to hit. sure the engine is great for pulling that overweight body around but trying braking suddenly...
personally i hope the dickhead that was racing sees the image of that elderly couple the moments before & after impact in his mind forever & it haunts him till his grave.
alot of people these days i suppose find street racing more convenient, so they do it. i'm not backing it up as i think it's pretty dumb anyway but yeah the whole movies, look "cool", spontaneous racing, lack of planning would make the adrenalin rush. i dunno. never done it really so can't say.
[off topic] the funny thing is the best performing holdens are all powered by nissan & chevy engines =P love telling the hsv lovers that one ^^
