  1. there was one in st marys a while back. (not sure if this WAS it but pretty sure...) but the red commodore's speedo froze at 175kmph. consider that after braking. =S my dad has a silver vs commodore & after learning in that they have a f**kload of power but nothing to back it up. horrible steering, shit brakes & poo suspension. all they have is their engine which to be honest is just muscle anyway. you race one of those anything that gets in your way you're almost bound to hit. sure the engine is great for pulling that overweight body around but trying braking suddenly... personally i hope the dickhead that was racing sees the image of that elderly couple the moments before & after impact in his mind forever & it haunts him till his grave. alot of people these days i suppose find street racing more convenient, so they do it. i'm not backing it up as i think it's pretty dumb anyway but yeah the whole movies, look "cool", spontaneous racing, lack of planning would make the adrenalin rush. i dunno. never done it really so can't say. [off topic] the funny thing is the best performing holdens are all powered by nissan & chevy engines =P love telling the hsv lovers that one ^^
  2. now i know the topic has been covered alot but i haven't seen anything on the s15 autech (non turbo). i'm really into both & so far the only thing i can put apart from them is the price. s15 being more expensive & autech's insurance is nothing less than scary. love them both but & 4 s15s vs 2 r34s one a gt the other gt4. i dunno. come to a dead end in a way. anyone had experience with any of these models? how'd you rate them? i tried to join ns.com but it wouldn't work after several attempts i gave up. so far it stands as: r34, cheaper yet i want to mod it more. s15, realistically too expensive to add to & quite happy with a stock autech anyway. being p-plater them only engine mods would have to be internal or atleast well hidden but more sound (cat back) & cosmetic mods for now. wouldn't go hardout trying to get power from na anyway but yeah. the s15s i've found are $18000-$21990 whereas the 34 is $14500-$20990. also, why are there so many auto r34s? manuals are heaps hard to find now in na form. =/
  3. it's been a hell of alot of research, car searching inspections & now i'm truly stumped. being on red p's i can't seem to have anything of decent power but these to pick it up a bit. always been a big fan of both but after checking them out i'm really unsure. wondering what you guys think. yes i know topics of these cars a plentiful but i haven't found one for these two specific models as of yet. if anyone has or has had any experience with either or both please help me out. it's been ages in getting it all sorted out & i want to finally buy this thing haha.
  4. i guess it's okay that they're trying to stop faggots killing eachother & more importantly innocent people but still, very shifty. easy to entice someone who prides themselves on the power of their car & obviously puts money into it. make it all seem legit then f**k em over. easy money & their boss tells them they're helping to clean up the streets. or in 'real' terms pay for that new speeding camera hidden in the bushes $$$$$. even if you did catch them dragging eachother on video they'd just say they didn't know who it was or no it's not them. if anything they'd probably pin you for having your mobile out while driving the bastards haha.

  6. if you're gonna have a wide front go all the way or it'd look odd =/ where'd you get the oem gtr front bar & lip? price? personally i think the flared rear fenders look heaps good besides you can fit fatter tyres aswell. ^^

  9. alright, i've managed to narrow my search down to two cars. one is a black auto, what seems to be a series 2 r34. the other a silver manual gt4? is 4WD not an FR. black one i'd only spend the transmission conversion money on. the silver quite a few little bits & pieces. decisions... thanks for your advice so far though. yeah after the last mishap parents are on my back about importing & transporting etc so i'm gonna try to work on these two, being fairly local & all.
  10. that's the thing, part of it is using my own money the other part to top it off is my uncle lending me some. the only catch, his mechanic he's known for years has to inspect it. there was what i thought was a good one until the mech pointed out the 3 colours in the engine bay. =/ how would i go about getting it tested & inspected interstate? never done anything like that before, sorry about the newbness.
  11. my cousin too has one, in QLD. modified but still got the letter telling him it's counted as collector & all has been verified.
  12. yeah i'd get the ratios changed, overall tune, etc really? even if they saw the lack of turbo? it's looking like a trans conversion =/
  13. i know it sounds odd but an n/a manual 2 door hasn't been very abundant so far. mind you i've only searched nsw for it.
  14. the GTR's colour is better imo, more vibrant. however on a 33 could look quite different. i think, make a few dummy tests on photoshop or something trying out different colours. coz even though it's the same colour the way the car wears it can vary.
  15. hey guys, i'm in the market for an r34 but finding a good manual gt is pretty difficult within my pricerange ($20000 absolute max) so i'm starting to think otherwise. option one: buy an auto, much easier to find, seen a few i'd consider then convert from auto to manual. option two: buy a gtt but remove the turbo & rework the ecu. is this possible with the new p plate laws? also, which would be the better option?/guess prices? p plate rules suck.
