  1. Standard ratios but tyre circumference down from about 710 stock to 630 on the A050's
  2. for those of you who like to avoid the banter on the R35 section, here is Tarzan doing his best to battle the understeer on his hotlap. understeer was the winner on this occasion but we will be working on that for next year
  3. regarding bolt ons and aero its not the individual components, its how you put it all together and make it work. the engineering smarts and development you speak of are in making the entire package work and tweaking the setup to go from having a 1:33.5 second car frist year out to having a sub 1:30 car some time down the track (hopefully!) But to be clear, there are many small areas of innovation going on constantly, sure they may be minor and perhaps not earth shatteringly original but do you really think the top teams are going to stick their concepts on a forum for the great masses? those are hard fought gains and are closely guarded secrets
  4. the post processing on the first pic is a big improvement
  5. we were going to get shock potentiometers but there was no off the shelf solution and we ran out of time. does anyone know of an off the shelf or simple ssetup for the vbox?
  6. yes plenty of pics which show our front downforce imbalance from the weekend. we knew this but struggled to correct at short notice despite pulling out rear downforce and adjusting rake angles etc
  7. nice pic guys. good to see the two GTR's cross the line on the last lap of the event! even if Drew and I didnt trouble the scorboard with our antics when are you guys planning to be back out on track again?
  8. first time running the AO50's for us. those things are fast but shit themselves after one hot lap. try doing two successive laps and they come back in pieces
  9. hi Tim, would love to but not able to this year
  10. diagnosis is in on the gear box problem, broken gear selector - a standard Nissan part. the boys from Just Jap did suspect this when we discussed the issue with them over the phone on the weekend.
  11. actually tarzan broke the throttle pedal on the friday session so it only affected my times. reviewed the data last night and in some corner exits I had only 50% throttle especially turns 3-8. Poor John copped it when I came back into the pits asking where all my power was, with the throttle pedal being loose it felt like bad ass turbo lag. I was a little sheepish when we sat down and worked out what it was. by the time we got Tarzan back in the car on Saturday we had nicked Just japs throtte pedal so Tarzan had full use of the throttle for his 33.5 run but as said on the low boost tune. next year we will run a 'Maximum attack' tune in one of the sessions for sure (I laugh everytime I hear that, one of the many great phrases we picked up from from Tarzan and the Cyber team)
  12. yeah it was a big effort from the GT auto crew and congrats to them. they had more than their fair share of dramas over the weekend just like the rest of us but the team continued to battle hard and put in a bilsteringly fast lap on Saturday.
  13. actually my time was 1:36.4 but the transmission had some shifting issues (which Tarzan had in his hotlap as well) as we could not get a relearn on the box after we changed it and the accel pedal was broken (I could only get 80% thottle, will post up the vbox video for the lap) we were also only running our low boost run in tune for various reasons anyway thats all the excuses I can come up with for now .... either way we have plenty of time left in the car
  14. awesome pic thanks Scott. thanks for all your support at EC and QR over the last 2 weeks and the excellent job on the aero design!
  15. this is what happens when tarzan goes 'maximum attack'
  16. We had the transponders mixed up on the final day
  17. lol I wish, Tarzan got the quicker time easily
  18. wow, what a weekend. just got back home after trailering the car back to brisbane had a fantastic time, great to meet so many of you! special thanks to all the mercury boys who put in some big hours on the car over the last few days
  19. None of us have any unrealistic expectations on achievable times, we wouldn't be that presumptuous. We certainly aren't ignorant of the years of development taken by the established cars to get the times they have to date.
