  1. Cool. That has got to be the Ryan I know? Think I will go to the Winton fun day. Anyone else?...
  2. Awesome! Thanks heaps!
  3. Hi! The 2009 track day schedule document says there is a phillip island track day december the 13th. Is this correct, and if so how do you sign up?? However, it also got the date of the Maserati club track day wrong by a week so I missed it! Are there any more track days this year?!! I'm busting to find a day soon...
  4. Hi guys, Dumb question, but how can I sign up for the Sandown track day this Sunday? Cheers, Luke.
  5. Thanks heaps for the excellent advice. Agree with Nismoid. Dont want to do what doesnt need to be done at this level of tune. Changing mechanics. Have it booked into Racepace fri week. Going with dash 7s (as I already have them), cam gears, fuel pump, oil cooler, keeping the standard AFMs and injectors, and the head stays on. Will be happy with a safe 280rwkw and good response, for the moment... Thanks again!
  6. I was hoping for some advice on building an R33 series 3 GTR, that will see about 50km per week road use, and hopefully about 6-8 track days / driver education days per year. Currently making 240rwkw with standard turbos and computer. Aiming for approx 300rwkw. The engine has covered a lot of km's (170k) but came from Japan bone stock and has 155psi compression across all cylinders. Engine wise, currently have the following parts ready to go on: - 2860-7 turbos - Sard 700cc injectors - Power FC - Oil catch can - Jaycar EBC - Meridian Oil cooler. - Will get Z32 afm's and fuel pump / surge tank My mechanic has suggested - Taking off the head to assess the state of the piston heads, and tap in an oil restrictor. - Changing to full braided lines when installing the new turbos - N1 oil pump - 100km service kit with all new gaskets, cam belt, stud kit, water pump etc - Sump extension Seem reasonable? Would anyone recommend any other worthwhile additions? Has done a lot of km's, a less fun but ? more sensible alternative would be to install the EBC and power FC, be happy with 250rwkw and try not to go above 7500 rpm
  7. They are fantastic looking rims. Aggressive with similarities to the standard rims...
  8. Hi Mate, Can I ask the reason to swap to D Jetro? Does the microtech allow the ABS / Atessa to function perfectly as normal? Cheers, Luke.
  9. Hey mate. Are the turbos negotiable in price? What is their exact condition? As the dual ball bearing cores are non rebuildable... Can't PM yet but is there a mobile no I can call? Or mine is 0432 721 352. Cheers, Luke.
  10. Hi mate! Interested in the boost controller. please call me on 0432 721 352. Cant PM yet. Cheers, Luke.
  11. Thanks for the great advice guys. Had my first track day at Sandown a few weeks ago and loved it (apart from hitting 180km speed limiter half straight). Definately keen just to enjoy my car in its current light tune for the moment, and improve my driving. In the future though, sounds like a new stock fuel pump, injectors, 2860-7's, and power FC would be a good combo. Direct deposited my skyline club membership fee today, hopefully can still sign up for the winton track day in early July! Anyone else going?... Cheers, Luke.
  12. I've got Falken RT 615 semi slicks, braided lines, ferodo pads, new clutch, hard pipe kit, 6K worth of suspension mods. Couple of issues I wanted to generate some discussion on. Ie choosing a good setup... within the mentioned rules. GTRS's are not allowed, you have to choose the turbo from the list. But what is the point in going for a larger turbo like the gt SS or garret 2860-7's when you are limited by fuel Supply? The rules say you are only allowed one fuel mod. Ie either injectors OR fuel pump. I figure the most you can safely get would be around 280rwkw by upgrading the pump. I figure power FC, fuel pump, R34 GTR turbos would be a good combo within these prescribed rules. Other opinions?
  13. Hey guys, I'm interested in various people's opinions on the ultimate set up for the 'standard GTR' track day class. Drawing your attention to: Standard Class: (List of Free Mods allowed in standard class) Suspension - All Brakes - All Electronics (ECU, Boost Controllers) - All Intercoolers - All Pods Wheels Sizes Modified Classes: (Any of these Mods will put you into modified class) - R Spec Tyres / Slicks under a UTQG rating of 100 tread wear (not including 100) - A Roll Cage - A stripped interior. Removal of rear seats only is allowed. - Any other major weight reduction such as fibreglass doors or perspects windows - Fuel Systems - Any two out of the following four modifications to either: 1.Injectors, 2.Fuel Pump, 3.Non Nissan OEM Turbo's, or 4.A fuel pressure modification will put you into modified class. (I.E - Only one fuel system mod is allowed) - Non OEM Engine Capacities (GTST with RB26, RB30; GTR with 2.8L, etc) (GTR Standard Class) Any of these turbo's are considered a standard spec replacement turbo and are not considered a turbo mod. R32, R33, R34 N1's, HKS GT-SS's, Garrett GT2860r-7. My guess is that you would choose the turbos with the most low down response / linear power delivery, that max out close to the limit of the standard injectors combined with an upgraded fuel pump (approx 280RwKw?)... ie standard R34 turbos?? Not much need to replace the standard cooler at this level of tune I'd imagine. And not much need to get an electronic boost controller, just remove the brass boost restrictor?
  14. Hey all, Have a 1997 R33 GTR, making 239 RWKW with standard computer. Am quite happy with that for the moment and want to keep the factory computer for a while. Unfortunately was hitting the speed limiter half way down the straights at Sandown. Anyone know how or who can cheaply remove 180km speed limiter in r33 GTR while retaining the factory computer???? Cheers, Luke.
  15. Hi, What are the injectors? Would they suit R33 GTR? Cheers, Luke.
