  1. Hi guys, I've had my rocker cover gasket replaced by a mechanic who did a bit of a shit job. Several hoses were not reconnected when I picked the car up, and clamps left off too. So after a few trips to autobarn etc to fix my car up myself (cause I don't trust that mechanic, and would rather save on labour costs) I have clamped most everything down nicely again and replaced some broken hoses / vacuum lines. Replaced my boost controller / gauge lines which is something I've been meaning to do since I bought my car. Not too comfortable doing more difficult work than this. So anyway, my problem now is 2-fold. I can accelerate and get up to 4th gear fine, then when I go into neutral and coast (like for a red light) the revs drop quite low (350 - 500 rpm) and it stalls occasionally. The other issue is when I accelerate with low boost it's boosting fine, but once it hits about 5 psi I hear a high pitched squeal coming from my Autometer boost gauge in my dash. I've turned my boost controller down to minimum for the time being to make sure I don't overboost or anything as I'm not sure if the gauge is not reading correctly. I've had someone suggest getting a new boost gauge.. but I don't agree as it's been reading fine until the day my rocker cover gasket was replaced... which makes me think it's something to do with a vacuum line or something.... can this cause this squeal all the way through to my dash? I'm planning on doing the AAC valve clean and idle reset if I get the chance in the next couple of days, unless anyone can offer some advice from a similar situation? (removing lots from the top of the engine etc) Thanks for any info guys. Ravi
  2. Jesus that sucks. Thought you could've had it thrown out today and be finished with this rubbish!
  3. Hahaha thanks for the replies all. I didn't stuff it up, that's how it came when I bought the car. I've (and a couple of other's as well) given the bolt a good going-over with CRC and a heavy wire brush so it's clean and smooth as... it's definately the thread in the hole. I know there's a tool(s) that you can put down it to rethread it, but I'm not sure of the skill needed or the price etc etc. I think Repco had a set but it was way too expensive in my opinion, as I only needed one.
  4. Yeah it's exactly what you said. Original bolt, the threaded hole is stuffed.
  5. Dunno about it being worth anything but that's definately very cool!
  6. Hey guys, small thing but I'm just curious what the rules are about my spare tyre. It's in there, decent tread, pumped up etc, but the long screw that holds it down won't go into the hole very well, it doesn't screw all the way in so it doesn't exactly hold the spare tyre down. I've got some wood and bits of rubber wedged in there to keep it still but this is obviously not 'allowed', is it? How can I fix the threaded hole in the floor of the boot without cutting it out and welding a new one in, or how can I secure my spare tyre more effectively? Any ideas?
  7. Hmmm I'm getting my clutch done next week, with an Exedy OEM replacement (want something a little easier than whatever's in there at the moment, rock hard and all the way to the floor) which i've been told will be about 350-400 for the parts. Then about 200-300 labour on top. I dunno, I'm pretty happy with that.
  8. Hey how'd you go with replacing the tubing/fittings mate?
  9. I'll also stick my hand up for Foys at Nundah. Taken my old falcon there a few times, and my dad's taken his beamer there too. Good reliable work... decent price.
  10. Hey guys, newish set of ramps from Autobarn, have only been used once to put my mums excel up on for about 5 minutes hahaha. $50. Brand new condition - perfect, still with original tags if you want them. Pics up in the morning. 0422 141 841, text anytime or call 5pm-9pm. Cheers Ravi
  11. Hi guys, seen a black VE SS commy ute with the full hard back cover, I think one exhaust either side, darker than legal tint, around clayfield, in January this year. Didn't get the plates though. One of my friends has seen this same one in the area (and further north) multiple times. Pulled up a friend of mine and got him for bald tyres lol. And hey, fair enough, they were... hahaha.
  12. Hey guys... for sale now. $12,000 or reasonable offers.
  13. Hey guys, just seeing if anyone's interested in my R33 in pretty great condition. Haven't had it that long, just thinking I want something different... and a bit cheaper on petrol too Everything was already fitted when I bought it. Pros: 1993 R33 GTS-T 141xxx kms Rego til October 2009 G4 Racing coil overs (pretty new). Handles corners like a dream. 16" rims, can't see what brand but they are nice on it. 4 near new tyres and just had wheel balance Big exhaust cannon... I think it's over 3". VERY good note and sounds brilliant in the high revs Pod filter (very secure) Front mount intercooler Catch can (feeds back into engine) BOV (well hidden from view but very nice sound) Boost gauge Turbo timer hidden behind ashtray spring loaded door (manual setting of time) Feels like a heavy duty clutch Drift steering wheel Pioner head unit and there are 4 of 6" or 6.5" round speakers (front doors and rear parcel shelf). Already has wiring in the boot for amps/subs from previous owner but I don't have much of an interest in this All electrics and lights work well Rear windows tinted (rear window has bubbled a bit but cheap fix for someone who wants to do themselves) Very tight engine... no oil leaks, coolant leaks, brake leaks etc etc. I'm very picky with this in a car since my old falcon needing filling up with oil every month I believe it to be pushing just on 9psi based on gauge readings when boosting Cons: Underside of front bar is a little scraped from a parking lot but it's not too bad Small tear in driver seat upholstery One electric window is wired in reverse haha... so you have to push the button the opposite way Window wipers are a bit scratched on the side that faces out, just need a quick paint Price: I'm lookin to get at least $12,500 for it but will consider all reasonable offers. Has a valid roadworthy cert currently and I've treated her well in the time I've had her. Always shut down using the timer if I've been boosting on the highway, and even if I've only been boosting lighty too. I've been as honest as I can be... and I honestly just don't think a skyline is for me. Money is a bit tight at the moment too so probably not the best car for me. If you're keen for some info give me a PM and I'll usually get back to you within a day or two. Car is northside Brisbane, Chermside area. PICTURES: Driver's side door isn't scraped... it's just a reflection in that picture.
