Clutch Problems
geraldjohn replied to A31_Cefiro's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hey there a 31,, i believe you problem would be the rubber seals in either your master cylinder or your slave cylinder, if the clutch was working fine before and it suddenly started giving that problem, most of the time you need to change the seals or replace the entire cylinder. is the colour of the fluid in the cylinder dark? if so it means the fluid is contaminated and you should start with the master cyl. if the fluid is not dark then you should try bleeding the slave cyl. and check the colour of the fluid there. if your clutch starts to work better when you bleed the slave then the rubbers in the slave needs to be replaced. i hope this helps -
oh and according to the information that i got, the safc2 and the field controller does the same thing by means of intercepting the afm signals and altering them b4 going to the ecu,,they both can make the mixture leaner or richer and both have adjustments for the whole rpm range i believe it might work. whats your opinion? do you know of this type of controller?
-
hmmmm i dont know if its a supersonic bov,, i've had it for years on my rb20det with no probs,, its a polished bov with a sort of trumpet at the end,,,,
-
oh and by the way i recently purchased a z32 afm, anyone knows if it will work when i install my field fuel controller?
-
thanx for the reply turbo tits first of all,, the engine is one i bought from a guy and it was installed in my a31 cefiro the ecu is stock,, the boost is stock, and the bov is a blitz (i havent checked yet to see if its leaking) thats the reason i asked if anyone knows whats the correct afm,, would it be too much trouble if you could give me the numbers on one that you know for sure is an rb25det?
-
hi there, i was wondering if anyone knows whats the correct afm for the rb25det, the reason i am asking this is the car is running very rich and stutters when you try to move off from a standstill, when moving of, there is alot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust and there is alot of popping during the rpm range. any info will be appreciated thanx

anyone ever used one of these turbos on their rb25? if so what were the performance figures and how well did this turbo perform over the stock one? the reason i am asking this is because i just got one at a good price and would like some feedback b4 i buy it thanx
-
hey guys i just got a deal on a brand new t3 super 60 turbo and was wondering if anyone has tried that combination before i buy it. will it bolt up to my manifold? or would i have to make an adaptor plate?,, if anyone used it b4 please furnish me with the performance they got thanx

heheheheheheheh no replies sil21jun?

well here in the caribbean with respect to catalytic converters and emission controlled vehicles on the whole,, there are no laws but i agree with franks comment on polluting the atmosphere but the cat came out of the car 5 years ago and you wont get fined for it here so i never put it back
-
darn,so close and yet so far lol,,, but franks why the tisk tisk for no cat?
-
well i cant answer for australia but i am in the caribbean and parts are readily available here and very cheap also, the run on the cars were 1988 to 1991 (i stand to be corrected) most of the suspension parts are interchangable and all the interiors are fabric the anniversary edition is all black interior and the tweed is a different type, its more of a checkered pattern as opposed th the straight lined tweed found in others. i know these things because i have an anniversary edition and this model came with all the extras eg. sunroof, abs, cruise, rear wiper,4 wheel steer, larger brakes, turbocharged rb20,stereo controls on the steering wheel just to name a few. i hope this info helps you and i think you made a good choice in a car not being biased but the cefiro gives you best of both worlds 1 luxury and 2 performance

point taken again,, thanx,,warpspeed it seems as though you have some experience in this field, so maybe you can share some insight, i would like to know what sort of power i might acieve on my engine the mods that i am about to install 1- blitz dsbc 2 field fuel controller, 3 - 3" exhaust (already installed with no cat) cold air intake 4- bosch adjustable fuel pressure regulator. i know in stock form the rb25 is about 250hp,, how much should i expect with these mods, all the parts are here already and its waiting on me to install them, do you think i might reach the 300 mark anyone?
-
thanx warpspeed,, well if that wont work,, what do you seggest?
-
thanx for sharing
-
and what sort of problen might i encounter?
-
what do you mean by type of signal?
-
point taken,, but tell me if i'm wrong, 1:- the field fuel controller reads the signals coming from the afm and then alters it a bit and sends it to the ecu so it ( the ecu) will adjust fuel accordingly,, on the controller i could have the car run rich or lean to my desire,, am i to assume the power fc does the same thing where the signal from the afm is concerned?
-
hey thanx for the reply,, i dont have a power fc but what i have is a field hyper fuel controller i believe it does the same thing by way of altering the signal of the afm,,, is this what the power fc does? i am not too familiar with it
-
hey guys,, i heard that changing your afm from the stock rb25det to the afm of the z32 may increase your horsepower, is that true? if any of you guys tried it i would love to hear the results cause i have one and would like to hear results b4 i install it also would they plug right in or would i have to re-wire the afm to fit into the rb's loom
-
hey guys, almost finished installing an rb25det into my a31 cefiro, does anyone have the pin outs for the transmission ecu?, this would really help me graf the cefiro's tranny loom into the the rb25's engine's loom thanx
-
hey thanx darkhalf, i think i'll try that,, but boy am i nervous,, there are so many wires and they all look different in each loom, thanx again
-
hi there, i am in the process of installing a rb25det in my nissan cefiro, my car is auto and unfortunately the engine i got is manual,,, apparently the loom is different with respect to the t.p.s,, can anyone tell me if there is a way to physically wire in that portion of the t.p.s into the loom? or maybe if there is a part of the loom that just have to plug into the manual engine's loom?
