With simple stuff like this, it really doesn't matter, Chinese brand stuff is just as good as Japanese. For something more complex like a turbocharger it is probably better to go with a Jap brand, but there really isn't much you can do different on something as simple as a pipe. What most people don't realise is that most Japanese companies do what we do here in Australia... Get everything made in China. So even most Japanese brands are actually made in China because it is cheaper there. That being said, there is some crap Chinese stuff out there, as well as some crap Japanese stuff. Gotta be able to tell the difference.

2.5inch Dump Pipe R34 Gtt Restrictive Compared To 3inch?
Hanaldo replied to vudoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Should have same size flange, just different size pipe. I have a similar question. Will a 2.5" cat-back be that much more restrictive than a 3"? -
Yeh my advice would be to install it yourself mate. The hardest part is finding a place in the firewall to feed the wires. It's so easy to do, it really isn't worth paying ~$150-$200 to get someone to do it for you
-
Ok great, cheers mate. Does anyone know if they will work on the turbo engine?
-
Hey guys, I'm about to put a RB25DET Neo into my R34 GT, and i've heard 34's often have trouble with their coil packs. Now when i bought my car, i was told it had Splitfire coil packs. So i just wanted to find out, would these be compatible with the new turbo engine; and if so, how can i tell that they are actually Splitfires? Cheers guys, Martin

So you can't just join the stock plumbing to the GTR plumbing? Using a reducer hose or something?
-
So it's not as simple as remove stock bov, replace with GTR bov and replace stock plumbing with bigger plumbing to suit GTR bov? I will have a FMIC with piping going from drivers side back over the fan shroud. What do i need to do to install the bovs? I do understand what you mean with the "bouncing", i've driven a couple of GTR's that sounded great with their stock bovs. Made me fall in love with the GTR bovs
-
Well just installing the gauges you could do yourself for free, it's easy as. $6000 would include the cost of turbocharging your engine so as to actually make a boost gauge useful. *EDIT* I am assuming your car is non-turbo considering you posted this in the naturally aspirated section...
-
Anywhere that does turbo conversions. Will cost you about $6000.

Great stuff, exactly what i was looking for, cheers mate! I'm not after loud, i just want the sound. I still don't really know what i'll be looking for to fit these as i haven't got the engine yet, but where is the stock bov located on an R34 GTT? Can that setup be made to fit in the factory location, or will i have to move it?
-
Honestly i wouldn't know, engine will only be going in next week sometime Stock GTT bov would be more than capable for me at first, i will only be running 12psi when i first get it back. But once i get the new turbo i will be running 18psi+, so i would like the GTR bov to have the peace of mind handling that boost. If you're not after the sound then really i wouldn't worry about upgrading unless you are having problems with your bov.
-
And install them yourself man, easiest thing you can do on a car apart from putting fuel in
-
Ok but that still sounds quite similar to the twin setup. I'm not really after the flutter effect, just the sound of the bov. Does your bov sound like that all the time, or just under heavy load? Say i wanted to install the twin setup on my car, what would need to be done? Is it possible? How would it differ to the single setup? MOST people don't use them just for the noise, rather the fact that they are a very very good bov and can handle a lot of boost. I personally love the sound of them, i think they are the best sounding bov you can get. So i'm going for the upgrade, but really want the sound as well seeing as they sound so good.
-
I've been told that's not actually flutter, it's the turbulence created by the air flowing from the two bov's into the single return pipe. My mates GTR sounds exactly like this and the bovs are definitely stock on his car
-
Those are definitely the stock bov's, i've driven 3 different GTR's that all had stock bov's and sounded like that. I take it single doesn't sound the same then...
-
Hey guys, Just wondering if running a single GTR bov will produce the same sound as running the twin set up? I just absolutely love the sound of the GTR bov's, but if it's not gonna sound the same with a single bov then i want to try and get two working... This is the sound i am after:

Thanks for that Garry, i contacted them and it turns out the bloke has been working on them for 34's and will be putting them up for sale tomorrow, so i am officially his first customer!

Wtb: Rb30et Injectors And Rb25 Turbo
Hanaldo replied to Bullet R31 Silhouette's topic in Western Australia
Put this in the wanted to buy section mate, will get a better response. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wa...-Area-f180.html -
Haven't tried, why's that?
-
Some of those or an actual replacement dash with white gauges? Because that's all i can find for R34's, the Nismo white face dash, but i'm not keen to spend $1000 on a dash and then not have the kms matching the car. I just want the white gauges lol
-
Hey everyone, I have been looking for white dials for the dash cluster for an R34 for bloody ages and i can't find any, does anyone know where to get them from? I'm talking about these things: http://www.bmgauges.com.au/r32%20skyline.html http://www.bmgauges.com.au/r33%20skyline.html But for an R34...

Lol i wasn't being serious, i didn't say it would add ten thousand dollars value to the car. But he could at least enjoy the manual car while he owns it, and then if he decides he still wants to sell it then it has the added value of being a manual turbo sedan, something that is quite rare. I know some people that would be willing to pay 15k for a manual 34 GTT no matter how stock it is. Might not increase the value very much, but at least he gets the enjoyment of driving it. And you never know, if you are good at selling things then you can easily sell it for more than it's worth

Yeh we will check all the fuses, earth connections, all that. If it is something obvious then we will find it, not a problem. But if it is something we can't see like coil packs or something else then we might not find it if we don't know we are looking for it. Terence you say this happened to you? Which fuses was it that was cracked do you know, was it anything to do with ignition or was it just any old fuse causing problems for everything else? Cheers for your help guys

Hey guys, My mate has just bought an R32 off a member on here, and we went and picked it up today after it had passed the pits. Drove it from Morley to Chidlow fine, no dramas, everything was sweet. But then as we were heading back down the hill, we went over a very slight bump in the road, enough to jolt the car a bit but nothing major... and the whole car cut out. Headlights, engine, everything. Came to a stop and tried to start the car again, nothing, completely dead, doesn't even turn over or click. First thought was instantly "battery lead has become disconnected". So popped the bonnet, but the leads are all fine, securely fastened. Got my mate to try to start the car, and the negative terminal connection sparked quite badly but nothing else happened. The fuse box doesn't have a lid, so we don't know which fuses are which. Was pitch black so we didn't just wanna start pulling out fuses randomly. The funny thing is, after awhile we could turn the headlights on again, and the interior lights came on. But then i tried turning the headlights off and on again, and everything shorted out and turned off again. From then on, everything was dead except the interior light, which came back on about 5 minutes later. Eventually we just jump started the car and that worked fine, drove it back to my mates girlfriends house and left it there, but as soon as we turned it off it was dead again, wouldn't start. We are going to go down to Battery World tomorrow morning to get the battery tested, so we will see what that shows up. But what could be causing this? Alternator? Coil packs? Bad earth? Fuse? Thanks a lot for any help, would really highly appreciate it! Cheers, Martin

I think he was implying that everyone elses numbers were hammered so Rohan's probably was too. Because Rohan had never had that car dynoed before, so he had no figure to compare it too. But everyone else was losing lots of numbers, so he was implying that Rohan probably lost a bit as well. I think anyway lol, that's how i read it.
